Not Really Virtuous After All

Public display of affection or PDA as they are called, is the act wherein two people do an intimate act in public. It could be a couple kissing or two girls holding hands, it is anything that displays affection between two people.

PDA's are part of every relationship but it is something that should be done responsibly so it is best to learn the rules. The limits of what is acceptable and isn’t must be kept in mind. Do not cross the line. As a rule of thumb, keep your PDA limited to things that you can see from other people without feeling the need to turn away. If you don’t want to see others conducting themselves in a certain way, chances are the feeling is mutual.

Holding hands, a goodbye kiss, putting hands on each others’ waist constitute PDA that’s fine and not rude at all. A man placing his hand on her shoulders suggests they’re a couple and not inherently offensive. Anything that isn’t intimate enough and would not make people around you uncomfortable and grossed out is okay.

Excessive babying like two adults feeding each other and grooming one another can upset even the strongest of stomachs. Ass smacks, used sparingly and with humor would be okay but it’s a risky endeavor so might as well do it with caution. Too much  PDA is definitely frowned at, majority finds this practice so off especially if being done by people they have high regard for.

Beautiful Host BH and her friend FR have lost a show together allegedly as a result of too much PDA’s on the set.  Everyday, the two, who got introduced to each other and whose relationship bloomed while on the show, would kiss passionately, embrace and did other intimate acts as if the set was their private space, to the utter annoyance and discomfort of people around them. Their co-hosts in the show had long been grossed out  by the couple’s behavior and thus telegraphed their sentiments to the bosses concerned.

Lesson learned:  Couples should act in accordance to the culture of the place they are in. What about you?

"What works in a relationship of very public people is not making the relationship public - keeping it as personal as it can be. It`s the only way it is real."  Salma Hayek

His Rejection is Punishing

After a very controversial and tedious chapter in her life, there is finally quiet and peace in the world  of  sexy actress SA.  Earlier, SA laid low while attending to the case she filed versus a known medical practitioner MP while at the same time fulfilling a big womanly duty. The public was aghast with MP who allegedly violated SA, such that it gravely affected her image as an actress. Despite the unfavorable conclusion of the case, SA has now quietly settled down with her bliss in the arms of a loved one.

But while she feels blissful, heard that all is not well with her legal partner LP who represented her. Heard from the grapevine that LP has been suspended for a year by the organization where he belongs. That means he would not be able to practice his profession as mandated. But what brings that about?

It was learned that MP won a case he filed against LP for malicious mischief. Turned out that during the heat of the controversy with SA and MP, LP went on a media frenzy allegedly concocting all sorts of stories against MP and his family. MP was so enraged, he felt it was too much to bear at that time, and for a practitioner like LP to malign him even more with fabricated stories was something he could not just pass up.

Right now, MP is content at the turnout of the case/s he got involved in. He hopes to renew and restart  his life all over again.

Junking the Chronic System

This early, young and privileged starlet YS is showing everyone how it is to fail in showbiz. She is everything a newbie should not aspire to be: bad attitude personified.

The pretty airhead seems to feel that she is entitled to everything, even to episodes of bitchiness at work every so often. Some say that the overbearing attitude comes from the fact that she was made to feel special from the very beginning: spoiled and well-provided for by a close relative CR who is basking in fame and fortune.

At any rate, shouldn’t she be thankful instead that inspite of being talentless, she is lucky to clinch projects owing to her strong connections? Such an edge of not having to sweat it out there to prove herself like some other ordinary Jane’s? Hey girl, even talented veterans strive to be professional and respect their work.

From the grapevine, YS was doing a shoot for a huge cosmetics company. Projects like these are usually costly and challenging in terms of logistics, and yet, YS didn’t seem to prize commitment and professionalism.

From the start, she was making things difficult for the production staff. First, she did not like the make-up to be used on her. Second, she didn’t want to finish shoot because she needed to watch a concert. When her manager was informed about these, no questions were asked - manager put her foot down.

And what did YS do to retaliate? The brat in her surfaced: she sulked and slept, further delaying the shoot.

Showbiz insiders blame the system on why people like YS thrive - raw, talentless, uncommitted, yet exist to be given preferential treatment. Too much too soon. Perhaps it’s about time people concerned  realize that it is a self-created problem capable of creating future monsters.

“Fame is toxic, it can turn a shy upstart into a monster within months.”
