Interlocking Stories of the Network’s Young Stars
Promising Actor (PA) seems to be the most competent among the young actors being built by the network. Not only does PA have the boyish smile, he has the best acting skills among his peers. Instead of focusing on him alone, the network has packaged him as the other half of a loveteam, to a young actress (YA) who is known for having a stagemother. To be fair to YA, she has publicly stated that she is bent on finishing her studies, while waiting if her stint in the network can launch her to stardom.
Meanwhile, the network is also pairing off PA with talented performer (TP), who was built up to be the partner of Promising Singer (PS). The partnership between TP and PS was good at the beginning as both could match each other in terms of performance. However, it was pushed to the limit when it was made to appear that both of them had something real going on. Yet rumors have it that the real girlfriend of PS is another young actress (AY) who has recently jumped to his network. Thus, any attempt to link TP and PS for real would be for naught despite their very strong fan base. This fan base might be a hindrance in case PS would be paired with AY.
Incidentally, observers lament how PS does not have the work ethics of his family members in showbiz. He would often be late for rehearsals or he would not be there at all. Allegedly, PS is indulging in drinking sprees and other bad habits with AY. Sadly, TP, with all her talent, exposures and breaks, still hardly makes the cut.
As to whether the love team of PA and TP will click seems to be far-fetched as the fans of their other partnerships are not supportive at all. Besides, some people smell something fishy with PA. As to who among PA, YA, TP, AY, and PS will survive and reach stardom in their current network, we can just wait and see.
These young stars, specially PS, can learn a thing or two from John Wooden, “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.”

Fact: Top 8 Filipino Twitter Personalities All have Fake (Inactive?) Followers
According to Twitter Audit, all of the Top 8 Most Followed Filipino Celebrity On Twitter have "Fake" followers. I am however clueless as to how Twitter Audit operationally defines "Fake" followers. I am guessing this refers to the "Inactive" Twitter accounts.
It is also worth noting that that 7 out of the 8 in the Most Followed Filipino Celebrity On Twitter list have more "Fake" followers than "Real" ones (@vicegandako has 1.25M "Fake" followers vs. his 1.29M "Real" ones).

I tried my account @FashionPulis and this was the result.
I also tried the Twitter accounts of some of the most famous international public personalities and this was what I got.
Having presented these data, does this mean that Twitter is not an effective marketing tool since many followers are inactive? This is definitely an interesting marketing research study that some of you might want want to delve into (paging my DLSU-Manila Marketing/Advertising graduating students).
Happy Twitter Auditing!!!

Anne Hathaway Apologizes to Valentino
Anne Hathaway, a close friend of designer Valentino and one of his biggest fans, surprised the fashion world when she trod the red carpet wearing a pale pink dress by another Italian designer,Prada.
The Valentino fashion house had even released a press statement in advance of the Oscars disclosing that it would be dressing the Les Miserables actress in addition to Sally Field andJennifer Aniston.
Anne has since issued an apology to the designer, saying: "It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear."
Anne seemed to be referring to her Les Miserables co-star Amanda Seyfried's grey Alexander McQueen gown. "I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans," she explained.
"Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last-minute decision," added the 30-year-old, who picked up an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She contacted her stylist Rachel Zoe to help with a selection of back-up dresses.
On the night itself Anne explained that it was a last-minute decision. "I didn't even know what I was wearing until about three hours ago," she said.
"I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself," said Anne in the statement to People magazine. "I deeply regret any disappointment caused".
Valentino, who is responsible for the bold red number heralded by fashion fans at Anne's Oscars appearance in 2011, also created the actress' bespoke wedding gown which she wore when she married actor Adam Schulman in September 2012.

Letter from a Reader: Fake Designer and Social Climber in One
Hello, how are you? I am a huge fan of your blind items and I would like to share this fraud story with you.
Seems like posers, fakers, pretenders in the fashion industry are getting to be more and more fearless and notorious by the day.
There is some graduate of an exclusive girl's school CG who is bold enough to call and label herself as a high-end fashion and bags designer. She also says that she does her work alternately between New York and Manila. CG misrepresents herself big time by claiming to have done internship in a world famous American fashion and lifestyle magazine. Likewise with other world-renowned fashion designers.
Apart from that, CG also claims to have studied fashion design at a famous design school in New York. Her social media accounts scream of photos of her alleged bags and fashion collection - all proven fake! Bold and shameless, those photos she claims as her creations were actually stolen from different websites! What's mind-boggling and laughable (to some) is that she only buys her stuff from online wholesellers which source them from China! Then she does some magic and goes around passing them off as her creations!
But her most preposterous claim is that the international designer Valentino got interested in her designs and bought them! Really? Where are the photos of that milestone then? Given her propensity for notorious self-promotion supported by (fake) photographs, why did she allow such a Valentino breakthrough to just pass unceremoniously? Go figure.
CG is so successful in her fabulous claims and making people believe her tales. In fact she was just recently featured in a national broadsheet with those stolen photos of bags and dresses given prominent exposure. Is she so good at Public Relations to have successfully sweet-talked or hoodwinked an unwitting, no nonsense columnist CV to write about her? This girl CG is really something else.
My heart goes to the people, the poor buyers of her overpriced bags. Oh those bags from China she claims to have made and designed from Manila and New York! How much and how long will CG profit from the miseries of her victims?
But fret not, there's still some good news. Looks like more and more people are taking notice of this fraud woman, even the broadsheet where she was given prominent exposure has gotten word of her scam and is now looking into it. Hopefully it won't be long before she gets exposed.
Thank you very much, FP for giving me space in your widely-read blog.
Sincerely yours,
Dotty
