New Actor (NA) is being touted as the next important leading man of the network. Barely out of his teens, NA has been slowly but surely getting breaks. At the beginning, he had bit roles, then he was cast in movies produced by the cinema arm of the network. Soon his name became familiar. Other than his looks, physique, and appeal, the network saw his acting talent, and dedication to his work. As a result,  he was cast in a teleserye which has been getting favorable feedback. NA is quite lucky as he did not have to go through the usual talent search, and let his future decided on by text votes.

However, NA has a secret. Behind those charming looks is a nagging rumor that has been hounding him even prior to his entering showbiz. Now reality has already bitten him. NA allegedly wants to get out of the closet! He expressed this desire as he can no longer bear to prolong his agony pretending what he is not. However, his sexuality is suppressed by the roles given him that always required a full macho stance. (Early in his career, he did a gay role that got him noticed as he was very convincing.). Nonetheless, before NA could admit to anything, an executive warned him against coming out as he was being groomed to be one of the network’s leading actors.

Lately, NA is dating another young actor (YA) who belongs to the early batch of hopefuls in his network’s talent search. YA also into commercial modelling. Quite surprising, YA is in love with NA, and has marvelled at how gifted NA is, well, you know, down there.

This half-Filipino model, performer (MP) and product of reality search was asked to host a national beauty pageant that was staged somewhere in the province which is a major tourism hub of the Philippines. He was one of the three hosts that included a male TV personality (TP) and female resident host . MP and TP arrived from Manila to the pageant venue in the morning of the pageant day. They were briefed on the details and other requirements of the show. Everything went well and both were even seen bantering with some candidates backstage during rehearsals.

On pageant night, MP and TP seemed okay except for MP's blunders like mispronouncing candidates' names, bad timing, among others. There were talks that early on before the show, during rehearsals and at backstage, MP got smitten by one of the candidates NC. And it was pretty obvious that the feeling was mutual.

After the show, there was a dinner party for everyone sponsored by the province's popular and generous governor. Party was held at the restaurant inside the hotel where all the candidates were billeted. Along with the organizers, present were sponsors, guests, the candidates and the hosts. Food was aplenty and drinks flowed. MP and his crush candidate NC, as well as TP and a few other girls on the table had one drink too many. And you know how too much alcohol can disarm you of your judgement. Suddenly, MP and TP, together with the two candidates were nowhere to be found. Turned out, the foursome proceeded to NC's room, and only the four of them knew what went on behind those locked doors.

The morning after, word got around that the scandal had reached the head organizer. Both MP and TP and the two candidates were chided for their impropriety.

Bratty Juvenile Behavior

Is being a personal assistant synonymous to doing slave-like task? Male performer (MP) was seen in the locker room of a gym with his personal assistant (PA). MP behaved like a little boy who had to be helped to dress up. PA put and buttoned up a polo shirt on MP. After doing that, PA bent down and wiped dry MP's feet. Then he took a pair of socks and put them on MP’s dainty feet. Onlookers wondered if he were sick, but they shook their heads when they realized MP had just finished working out. He also cannot be paralyzed as he has mean dance moves on the floor. Observers could only wonder if this attitude of MP's being too dependent (bordering on master/diva-like behavior) is making him such a spoiled brat.

Incidentally, there are rumors now that MP and his ex-girlfriend (XG) want to reconcile but could not. Allegedly, his family is not keen on him and XG together.

Letter from a Reader: Dear Karen Davila

Dear Karen Davila,

First, I would like to say that I don’t hate you nor do I have any grudge against you. In fact, you are one of the few journalists I admire. However, there is no other term for your series of tweets this afternoon but this : cyber bullying.

Please let us not crucify people by association. The sins of the father or any family member should remain theirs alone. Divine Lee IS NOT Delfin Lee. So many people are saying she should be imprisoned. For what? If we follow this thinking, then your colleague Pinky Webb should have shared jail time with her brother Hubert when he was in prison.

Now, if we base this on WORK ASSOCIATION, YOU work with Noli De Castro who I am sure had some part in this whole GA-Pag-ibig issue. Does that mean that De Castro’s participation now involves you? The Ultra tragedy of Wowowee… Should you also be responsible for the stampede? Because you worked for the same station as Willie Revillame then?

Everyone… Please think logically. Are you all much more knowledgable than the court who issued the warrant of arrest? If Divine had some accountability, she would have been included in the warrant. But guess what? She’s not included. That should answer your question.

In the article by ABSCBN news online, Divine was asked if she was affected. Naturally, she answered for herself and for her siblings. She was never asked about the GA victims. She only answered what was asked of her.

I have only met Ms. Lee once. We are not friends but your tweets have so affected me to the point that I am now writing a letter. So much has been said about her —- how she countered this whole scam by donating to flood victims when in fact she has been organizing relief efforts way before this whole issue.

I guess the point I just want to make is this: however grave the offense, no one else should take the blame but the offender. Not their children.

Keeping Her Out of His Work

When people found out that public servant (PS) and television personality (TP) were in a relationship, cynicism and ill wishes prevailed. Comments, such as they would not last because PS was rumored to be a playboy, while TP's known to be stubborn. Then, his family became the subject of hushed rumors, because allegedly, the clan was against the relationship. Kibitzers attributed it to the fact that PS belonged to a “royal family,” while TP was a “commoner.” There were even stories, like his mother did not like the way TP conducted herself and the way she treated ordinary people. However, unknown to most, it was really love for PS and TP. They were seen around dating, yet they kept a low profile. Their wedding was simple, yet it had to be one of the most watched events at that time.

PS had political ambitions and TP was thought to be the person who would be able to help him win a higher office. Unfortunately, TP, as she said in interviews, opted for a low profile during political sorties. Even if she were already secure in the family, TP still kept her own world and career, but she did have her own sacrifices. As always, rumors began to haunt their happy marriage. When confronted with a rumor linking PS with other women, TP did not bother to react to it in a way rumor mongers expected. She dismissed it because she knew the truth. She and PS were happy together.

A reality check shows that TP is not really someone who can charm her way and get much sympathy. Simply put, it is not her style. She is not docile. She will speak her mind and is often brutally frank. Meanwhile, politics is now beckoning PS. It seems that the family is indeed bent on him running for higher office. And this early, there are already humps that need to be addressed. Family of PS is allegedly convincing him to make it appear that something is not well between him and TP. This scenario will justify why TP would not be around during the campaign season. The family thinks TP lacks mass appeal and is often branded as “maldita." In short, his family believes that her presence might jeopardize his political plans, and that's the last thing that they need at this point. Yet the truth is beyond politics - TP and PS are still together.
