This could be one of the biggest flops in DreamWorks history. Personally, I didn’t like the animation style or the characters, and I also felt that Liza & HER wasn’t the right choice for the role. If they had cast a well-known Hollywood actress for the voice, it might have had a bigger chance of reaching a global audience and showcasing Filipino culture to the world. It’s just sad to see that this movie didn’t get the support it deserved.
Eh di hindi na siya representation if you cast a non Filipino Hollywood actresses for the lead role. Nagawa naman ng KPop Demon hunters to be have a well told story which highlights Korean culture and at the while also casting Korean actors and actresses.
Nah. Kpop Demon Hunters has Kpop and Korean culture on its side (which is HUGE), catchy songs, and an easy to digest plot. It would have done decently in theaters, even if the choice to release it on streaming only helped boost its popularity, in hindsight.
I think another main issue with the film is that there's kind of a loss of translation between Filipinos who are culturally Filipino and overseas Filipinos who grew up in the United States and are more of a mix between the two cultures. I've seen the movie and I do really like it and think it's a nice little charming movie but, with that being said, it does not at all come off to me as a movie that was created with current Philippine culture or sensibilities in mind. This is very much a movie geared towards Filipino-Americans and that's fine but it does limit the potential audience.
Seriously, bago kumuda mga nega comments, pnoorin nyo muna. Ang ganda kaya sobra! As in nalulungkot ako sa mga flop news or something kasi why?? The storyline was sooo good at ang ganda ng representation ng bansa natin ❤️ sa mga di pa nakaka nood, go watch. The animation style caters sa mga gen z to gen alpha. Mix of a lot of style, kng di mo type, its a matter of preference sya coz my 14 and 16 yr old children loved it. Go watch now!
Wala namang soft power ang Pilipinas eh. Saka real talk hindi naman popular ang Filipino Culture sa international audience eh. Kahit nga mismong mga Pinoy mas mahal at isinasabuhay pa ang kulturang Koreano kesa sa Filipino Culture kahit pa nasusuka ang mga Koreano sa Pinoy.
