1214 napaka judgmental mo nman. Tao din ang pari at nagkakamali. Nagpaliwanag siya at humingi nv paumanhin. Ramdam mo sinsiridad nya. Siguro hindi mo naintindihan yung sinulat nya kase English. Masakit ba ma judge?
TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT. sometimes we just needed to be reminded how blessed we are despite what we're going thru. Count your blessings ika-nga.
I agree, no one should have to burry their child. But saying "na depress" could mean so many things. We use it daily with so much meaning other than clinical depression. Minsan we use it for things like "na depress talaga ako, i lost my glasses ang mahal pa naman". And a friend would try to comfort by saying "depress ka dyan, glasses lang yan". It isn't diminishing or invalidate how you feel but for the most part, it's to try to comfort and encourage. We aren't all gifted with words to articulate to try and make our friends feel better. Good intent, sloppy execution.
I guess my point is, sana we avoid overreacting to everything. I think this priest means well.
This is the problem, you only use the word depression or depressed if you’re actually clinically diagnosed. People are using it to replace the word sadness for intensification.
Sa pagka alam ko ang word na depression sa English language ay nauna pa when medicine officially came up with the word “clinical depression”. In the ancient times di naman depression Ang tawag sa condition na yan. They called it melancholia.
I’ve subscribed to this priest 3yrs ago when my mom had a stroke and couldn’t go to Mass. Now she watches his Mass every f***king day, kabisado ko na boses nito. He’s good naman, but he’s a Baby Boomer soul trapped in a Millenial’s body. He always talks common sense, of being proactive, being humble, of not feeling sorry for yourself, being pious, being true to one’s self, of not being lazy and inactive, and not having the ‘victim’ mentality. In short, Boomer strength and endurance.
Most of his sermons I agree with, being Gen X myself, except one or two topics. He does take Mental Health lightly, like it was a choice, like laziness. Not like a dangerous sickness that requires other people to help and step in. And LGBT issues (him having a sister who experimented), but of course, sinong clergy would be openly promoting it. He does avoid talking about it, and avoids talking about the Government (safe). He prioritizes OFWs over suffering locals, and sometimes you question where his Youtube revenue goes and why does he allow ads in the middle of Mass. But mostly I like his common and street sense, like your classic Lola slapping you out of a lazy mood and shoving you out the door to live a good, industrious life. Not for Gen Y or Gen Z though. Glad he’s humble enough to apologize, hopefully his sermons tweak in the coming days.
I admire Father for admitting his mistake and acknowledging the feelings of other people. I felt his sincerity.
May isang pari sabi malaking tulong daw ang namatay na loved one kasi they are watching over us.

DeleteTrue.
Nakakahanga humility nya to accept his mistake and apologize.
DeleteTurn off sa priests like him na fame hungry sa social media.
