I personally prefer homegrown queens over foreign born ones, them being a halfie is not important but them growing up in the Philippines does. Because they are Filipinos regardless of parentage but BMW is not, I'm not sorry for saying that.
It is colonialism when we prefer something overseas when we already have perfect ones on our home. Preference of eurocentric beauty over diverse ones is bad as beauty would become monolithic and the only defining factor that this beauty comes from this country is the shade in their skin but everyone would look the same.
But regardless of the politics at MUPh or BMW's passport could make her travel to Puerto Rico easily as BMW is American and Puerto Rico is an US Territory. The MUPh org crowned her over better Homegrown Filipino Beauty Queens so that's the end of it. But if she win or lose or if I watch MU I would certainly not support this bandwagon that's being normalized.
Edi wag ka sumoporta. Dami mong dada. Pag nanalo proud to be Pinoy.
Nonetheless, we should accept the fact na diverse is tolerable
Shows how superficial this contest is, and yet people still watch, and worse, nakikipag away pa kayo to defend itong candidate who never had a filipino experience, and who only used the pinoy card since natalo sa Ms USA. Colonial mentality still runs deep sa pilipinas and its sad
Bea is just another halfer with a resist dad and feeling superior mom.
But kudos to her for knowing a few Filipino words. Not a hundred percent whitewashed. I just hope shes a registered voter here in the Philippines but i doubt that
@236 is your son pure blooded filipino? You will still get asked where u or ur family is from.
Un mga halfie na white-passing generally will have a different experience kasi napagkakamalan na silang white.
Saying this as someone who moved to canada in my teenage years
I like her. Pero I feel she will perform just like Celeste Cortesi - naging clapper lang.
I SAID WHAT I SAID!! SHOOOOO!!!!
Agree.
I pack my life in balikbayan boxes kemerut merut
dapat some criteria to be MUPH candidate, must be voter for 2 or 3 consecutive election, resident in PH for 10 yrs to be fair Hindi yung parati half half
Bea is a product of Filipino diaspora, which doesn’t make her less of a Filipino. There are laws set in place to define boundaries of who qualifies as “Filipino” whether you are born in our motherland or overseas.
@3:07 She is a Filipino citizen since birth. She can eventually get her right to vote here, that’s easy because she’s a citizen since birth. You don’t know the identity struggles of biracial children, and there are hundreds of thousands right now, they exist. Bea, Catriona, and Pia are part of that generation of Filipinos. She never denied that she was born and raised in the US but you have to recognize her Filipino rights too.
@7:15 not to invalidate un identity struggles nya, but choosing to be filipino only when convenient and then expecting full support and acceptance? You want to talk about struggles? Nothing u say can even come close to the real struggles ng mga pinoy sa pilipinas
Reality check lang ha. Ang daming magagandang pinay na kandidata who are far more deserving to represent this country.

My son was born in the Philippines but grew up in Canada, and knows a few words of Tagalog-and that doesn’t make him less filipino
DeleteYes he is 2:36. #thingsthatdidnthappen

Something is off with Bea. She doesn’t have the warmth and sincerity of Cat.
ReplyDeleteAnyway fake news since we know Luis is a ghorl too
Botante ba si Bea dito sa Pinas?
DeleteLuis is a pageant aficionado who actively watches and vlogs the pageant shows. Parang gusto niya rin maging contestant. hehe
Delete12:11 To answer your question. NO. Mind you she only got her ph passport months back. Sabi around March daw.
Delete12:11 she is definitely not a registered voter unless ura-urada nagpa special registration para lang masabing pinoy sya
Delete12:04 haha. Problema mo yan. I love Bea.
Waley 🤣
DeleteLove tlaga? Cringe
DeleteLove? O matinding colonial mentality 🤮
DeleteBasta half, hala sali ng sali.
ReplyDeleteJust by looking at Luis, you will know his preference :D :D :D
