Did the Sotto Couple Opt for In Vitro Fertilization to Hasten Pregnancy?

A most awaited moment in local showbiz is the wedding of Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna. After all, seeing one of showbiz’s eligible bachelors choosing his lifetime partner is inspiring, as the couple defied the age-gap stereotype. In their case, age was obviously not an issue, as people saw the happiness they brought to each other.

Naturally, after their marriage, the next exciting moment is the arrival of a little Vic or a little Pauleen. After a year or so of waiting, Vic announced their pregnancy right on his birthday celebration on Eat Bulaga! While the revelation caught Pauleen by surprise, she could not contain her excitement, as their followers, friends, and family shared the joy in the news as well.

If the appearance of Pauleen on the show is lesser, fans should not worry, as she is taking it easy to make sure their baby will not be stressed with the demands of her career. However, an interesting rumor is that the couple allegedly resorted to in vitro fertilization to hasten the pregnancy. According to the Mayo Clinic, in vitro fertilization is a “treatment for infertility or genetic problems.” Nonetheless, the earlier the baby comes, the more time the couple could spend on their bundle of joy.

    3. Lagi silang lumalabas kasi kaya nila at nags-spend sila ng time together. It hasn't been that long since they got married. Research mo muna how the procedure works.

  2. Uh, so what if they did? It's just natural for them to want a baby of their own. we all know they have a big age gap so naturally some help is needed. No big deal.

  3. Able naman si Vic and Pauleen is young. I don't see the need forIVF

    1. May cases talaga na kahit bata pa kailangan mag ivf para magkaanak. She probably has an issue with her reproductive system kaya kailangan ng assistance kumbaga. Nevertheless, di na issue kung ivf man o natural basta importante may baby.

    3. You don't see the need because you're only looking at the surface. Have you seen Giuliana and Bill? They also look able and healthy, but they simply couldn't conceive the natural way and through IVF. That's why they had to use a surrogate. The IVF shots may or can help increase the chances of conceiving, but it's not fool-proof.

    4. Uhm, 10:31, have you seen Giuliana Rancic? She looks emaciated, not healthy at all. I'm just saying this because I used to see her quite a lot when she was based in Los Angeles around the same time she and Bill had their first child via a gestational surrogate.

  4. Kung totoo man wala ako nakikitang mali sa ginawa nila. May pera sila at ginamit nila iyon sa makakapagpasaya at makakapagkumpleto ng buhay pamilya nila.

  7. What matters is nakabuo sila. They are thinking if they will still try for the third time kasi medyo mahal daw.

  8. Maswerte sila at nabuo. I had IVF/ICSI treatment 2 weeks ago but had a negative PT result today :(

    7. Don't lose hope. Ganun din kami dati. It came to a point nga na iniiwasan namin mag attend ng gatherings or parties kasi nakakarindi na yung laging tinatanong bakit wala pa kaming kids, etc. But we perservered. And now we have 2 kids. One via IVF and the younger one, a delightful surprise, without medical intervention.

    1. According to the Catholic Church, IVF is a mortal sin.

      Delete
    2. How is it a mortal sin?

      Delete
    3. 12:07 kasi hindi yun natural way of procreation. a husband and a wife must make love and have children the natural way.

      Delete
    4. @ 9:10..wow, mortal sin ang IVF? Kitid ng utak mo

      Delete

      Delete
    6. Anon 1:05, hindi makitid ang utak ni 9:10 and 12:51. That is really a dogma of the Catholic Church. Paki google po - IVF and the Catholic Church

    7. thank you 1:37, i was once part of the Commission on Family & Life in our parish, and IVF is one of the things na tina-tackle doon.

    8. whether IVF or natural, what's important is you procreate

    9. I think it is still a blessing. And i think its wrong to use our faith/religion as a basis to judge whether a person is committing a sin or not.

    10. The first IVF clinic here in the Philippines had Jaime Cardinal Sin's go signal. They asked for his "permission." He gave it to them as long as they accept married couples only.

    11. I am a Catholic. Graduated sa Catholic School pa nga. Just putting it out there.

Anyway, None of the religions today are the real religion. All of our beliefs have all been handed to us from generations. Even yung bible, different na rin if icocompare mo sa mga dating nakasulat. So who are we to judge if it is a sin? And if we are devout Catholics or kahit ano pang religion? Who are we to judge? The second commandment says "Love your neighbors as you love yourself" and by judging someone aren't we committing something that is against that commandment?

      Delete
    12. Hello 9:10.If mortal sin sa religion mo ang nagbibigay ng saya at ligaya sa ibang tao, then you're just pushing your beliefs down your neighbors' throats instead of loving them as indicated in the Bible :(

  10. IVF is a normal thing... even a normal couple na wla namang problem s reproductive system ay nagiging option din ang IVF pag medyo d p tlga nkakabuo.

  11. My friend had an ivf and it's not money back guaranty. Pag negative ang result, another bayad ulit

    ReplyDelete
  12. if you can afford it, then go.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I undergo IVF too not because I have a problem but my husband has a low sperm count. At first try it failed but now I'm preggy. I dont see any problem if nagIVF man sila. Just so unfair na kung sino pa yung gusto magka'anak nahihirapan makabuo pero yung di gusto magka'anak daling mabuntis at nagpalalag ba. Its ironic.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Masaya pa rin ako for Vic and Pauleen.

  26. They don't need IVF because the girl is still young and in no way of decreased child bearing potential. IVF is usually for females who get pregnant at a late age, regardless of age of the partner. Males are fertile til they die.

    1. 12:21 study first before commenting about IVF. My husband has super low sperm count, and though it's true that an egg needs just one sperm for fertilization, it's still a hit and miss thing. So long story short, after years of trying the natural way, we went through IVF. I don't have any reproductive problems luckily. So after one try, buntis agad ako. Kaya please, don't comment on something you don't understand or haven't experienced yet. FYI, I'm in my early 30s.

    2. Fyi 10:03, I perform IVF and I'm talking about common cases. Check epidemiology.
