Repost: Cesar Montano Just being a Concerned Dad to Diego Loyzaga

By: Dolly Anne Carvajal

This is a tough piece for me to write because Cesar Montano has been my best friend for many years now. I am already an adopted sister of his Manhilot (Cesar’s real surname) clan. So when Buboy (Cesar’s nickname) is embroiled in a controversy, I am appalled by how things can be blown out of proportion, since I know the story behind the story.

Diego’s claims

His son (with Teresa Loyzaga) Diego has gone “Buboy bashing” on social media. He insists that his dad kicked him out of his house (on Scout Rallos, which used to be where Buboy, his ex-wife Sunshine Cruz and their three daughters lived and was later converted into Bellisimo Restaurant).

Diego also claims that Buboy called him a drug addict and would have him picked up by the police.

Buboy has his faults and shortcomings as a father but he has his redeeming qualities. I remember when Buboy granted Diego’s request to buy him a car. If Buboy had his way, Diego would have finished his studies before joining show biz. But he gave in to his son’s plea to become an actor just like him. When Diego figured in a bar brawl at The Fort last year, Buboy immediately came to his son’s defense.

Cesar’s reaction

When the controversy broke out, Buboy called me up. I am not at liberty to divulge everything we talked about.

Suffice it to say that no matter what Diego wants to believe, his dad is just concerned and worried about him.

“Even if my late dad never pampered me and didn’t buy me material gifts because we were poor, I am still thankful to him,” Buboy sighed.

He added: “I never lambasted him for the tough life we had. Our struggles made me learn the value of hard work.”

Buboy said that when he reprimanded Diego, they were not on the same wavelength. Apparently, his son did not get Buboy’s drift.

A father is a father, is a father. Hopefully someday, when Diego becomes a dad, he will understand where Buboy is coming from. Children have to learn that love from parents is not always a “Yes.”

As the Pinoy saying goes “Ang anak matitiis ang magulang, pero ang magulang hindi kayang tiisin ang anak.” I should know. I’ve been there.

It is my only hope that the next time Buboy and Diego argue, it will be about who loves the other more.

  1. Sus. Wag mo kaming utuhin.

    1. true! ilan n b silang magkakapatid sa ibat ibang nanay? At "magulang hindi kayang tiisin ang anak" -- e natiis nga nya at dineny nga nya kht kmukha nya. magpakatatay muna sya bago sya magmalaki!

    2. Pakotse. Pabahay. Paaral. Kulang pa din? Walang perpekto. Kung ano ang kayang ibigay. Ipagpasalamat. Wag ingrato.

Both Theresa and Diego were abandoned by Cesar!
      Everybody knows that story!
      Sino makakarma ulit?

    9. Napalamaterialistic mo, 9:27. Love, emotional support, time, affirmation- di nga yun nabigay ni cesar. And how sure are you na sya nagpaaral kay diego?

i down wanna hear others explanation. be man enough cesar and explain your side! seems that you're a coward.

    2. Same old.

    3. Maraming secrets and lies si Cesar ayaw mabuking galing sa sariling bibig.

  4. And the defense team makes its move by trying to turn things around and switch the public sympathy to Cesar's camp. Very predictable. Would have been more convincing if Ms. Carvajal didn't throw quotes about fatherhood. That speaks so much about him. And comparing Cesar's experience with his own father is like comparing apples to oranges -- his father didn't deny him and that's the glaring truth. I don't know them personally but I'm with Diego on this and that is my BIASED opinion.

  5. so ayan na nga to the rescue si bff!

ms dolly anne kng ung point of view mo is bilang magulang naintindihan mo rin kya ang hinanakit ni diego bilang anak? pkireview nlng cguro ung mga interviews ni cesar nung nanghihingi ng sustento c teresa.

    6. True that the son might've felt 'unloved' but if his father lived respectably, proved himself honorable, I don't think the son would've been that angry with him. We don't even know the full extent of his sins towards Diego but from what I've known of him, I do NOT think Cesar Montano's an honourable, trustworthy man.

  7. May bias tong article na to. The mere fact na sinabi mong close kayo ni cesar, siyempre kahit anong mangyari you'll take his side. Did you even personally try to reach diego to hear his side? Walang namention sa article.

  10. If they weren't on the same page then why not try to understand where your son is coming from. Diego has already told and proven to him that his drug test is negative yet Cesar still insists that he is one and threw him out of the house. How evil and cruel.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Si Dolly ang nagsulat? Okay next!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Bias reporting. Dolly Anne could never be objective cause as she says best friend nya si Cesar. Have seh ever talked or at least get Diego's story? One-sided to and it's expected of her. Cesar's other children(from Sunshine) wouldn't have sided with Diego and would remain neutral if Cesar is a good father.

  18. To the rescue si tita dolly

    ReplyDelete
  19. Gee Cesar, 1. did your dad every deny you were his son? 2. Did he accuse you of a crime you did not commit that could very well make you a. lose your career, b. make you end up in jail or c. Killed by a vigilante who despises drug addicts? I think not! BTW Dolly, You did not answer the house issue. Did Vesar really take it away from Diego? And did Cesar not accuse his son of being a druggie?

    ReplyDelete

  21. whatever the reason or who's right or wrong Diego still has to respect his Dad..sya pa rin ang tatay nya at the ebd of the day..and kung masama man syang tatay ngayon or in the past im pretty sure na may time na naging good Dad naman sya..sana maresolbahan na ang war nila🙏

  28. Lol Cesar, you brought up the topic pa about your father. “Even if my late dad never pampered me and didn’t buy me material gifts because we were poor, I am still thankful to him,” Buboy sighed. Oo na ikaw na mabait. LOL

Nakakalungkot dahil I'm sure hindi ganun ang iniexpect nyang relasyon with his father.

    ReplyDelete

  32. There's something off with this article. Why cover up the father's shortcomings in expense of the kid's mistakes. Why not just focus of how good of a father he is if he ever was...Good thing, this kid has somewhat a good support system not unlike his older brother who just resorted to ending his life amidst his father's candidacy...There's more into fatherhood than saving your kid from whatever mishap he's into,it's called living by example

  35. If Ceasar Montano really has his son's best interest at heart, Diego won't come to doing this. He may be a good friend but that does not follow that he is a good father.

Eh kahit pa sampung kotse binigay ni Cesar sa kanya hindi pa din sapat compared to the shame of being accused a drug addict by your own father, even after you've made several efforts to prove you aren't at kahit alam na maakusahan ka lang dito pwede mong ikamatay.
