    5. Naiyak ako sa sinabi ni Lorraine. Some pinoys may call supporters of the President stupid or psychopaths but I never heard a President who wanted a true freedom from our historical oppressors until Duterte came. He stand by what this nation needs, a true democracy.

    10. Hey Ms. Badoy, its Agot's opinion, it is her right to say what she wants, just as what you are doing right now. Just because you are pro Duterte, it doesn't mean that you are right too. Walang basagan ng trip. You can't shove Duterte into our throats. He does not act and think like a president. He is very manipulative and cunning. I cringe whenever I hear him. Tough...

      Delete
    11. Not umasa. Iba 'yung umasa sa alyansa. Meaning Duterte wanted to be treated as an equal. Kasi for the longest time, devalued kang masyado.

    16. Agot can voice out her opinion but to call the elected president psycopath is really uncalled for. She's a filipino & she can leave whenever she wants if she can't stand the way our president runs the government. Walang pumipigil. Tutal d rin nman nya mapigilan ung pag voice out ng thoughts nya.

    4. 12:28 both dutertards and kultong dilawan are engaging in essay-writing contest. wala naman akong minention na isang side lang. makabash lang eh!

i am not insecure. and yes, I may not have a writing skill. but alam mo din ba kung ano wala ako? yung tendency na magpapansin at magpaka-intelihente just for the sake of likes and shares.

and di rin ako namba-bash basta basta. unlike you.

    5. Basahin mo kaya, Anon 12:21. If indeed, there was a contest she would win it hands down. Dra. Badoy, for all she cares can just prettily sit in the comforts of her home but she opted to do some medical missions in the poorest of the poor.

      Delete
    6. Bakit ba tuwing may comment na di sang ayon sa gusto nyo eh insecure at bitter na agad

    8. 12:21 i guess di ka pa masyadong exposed sa mga internet jokes kasi wala kang ginawa sa internet kung hindi ang mambash? are you really serious? do you really believe may essay-writing contest talaga hahahahahahaha

12:59 tamah! insecure and bitter is such an overrated/overused word. yung mga gumagamit ng ganung words pagdating sa internet arguments, yun ang talagang walang writing skill.

      Delete
    9. also, you really think posting opinions/lambasting others with opposing views like what Lorraine did is social relevance? no! she did it for attention! check her FB, she's sharing articles that mentions her post about Agot. apparently, nalulunod na siya sa 15 minutes of fame that everyone in the net world is dying to have.

      Delete
    10. Hats off to Dr Badoy, all arguments are on point. Your message should shame Agot and her supporters, who continue to act like beggars of trash thrown by advanced countries.

      Delete
    11. Thats how u see it doctor. Pero yon nga agot saw it differently. To each his own.

      Delete
    12. What would a doctor do with all that attention 1:05? They have enough on their plates as it is and so do the rest of us. Maybe it wouldn't kill you to think that she's sharing it because she wants more people to read it? We have been indoctrinated with the thinking that we are inferior for far too long. Even other nationalities have made mention that we do not seem to love and take pride in our own culture and in our own voice.

  3. How did Japan rise from the ruins after the World War? It closed its doors to everybody. Nagsolo, nagsarili. Pagbukas nila, ayun! Maunlad at mayaman na sila ulit. Meron kasi silang pride na kaya nila on their own. May disiplina silang kayanin on their own. Now look at Japan. Wag maging neo-colony mg Amerika.

    2. Japan didn't allied to China and Russia but duterte did.

      Delete
    3. Japan's circumstance was very different. They conquered countries and declared war. Ayaw nya sa US

      Delete
    4. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Japan and the US currently allies? I think they still depend on the US military as their offense.

      Delete
    5. The difference between Japan and Pinas is that ppl there have discipline. I can't say the same for most Pinoys there. If you want change, change starts individually. If Pinoys can't even do that, how do you expect the rest of the country and the government to follow? You need to learn more about international relations and the advantages of that. Do you even know why Japan entered WWII in the first place? You should read up on it and educate yourself further.

      Delete
    6. Agree with you on this!

      Delete
    7. they have discipline. something na wala sating mga Pinoy.
our country is not third world when it comes to resources and everything. it is us, people, that makes this country third world. walang disiplina. simpleng pagtawid sa tamang daan di magawa. ultimo yung pinupush na "no garage, no car policy" ginagawan ng butas at jinajustify pa kung bakit sa labas nila binabalandra ang sasakyan.

also, you said it yourself. japan closed its doors to everybody. duterte, on the other hand, is trying to close its doors to US/EU yet inooffer naman sa China/Russia. as if naman walang interest/agenda yung mga communist nations na yun. and I bet, yung mga sumusuporta kay Duterte and his proposed alliance to China eh mga nagrarant din about China stealing our waters before.

Tapos lahat ng mga South Korean na taga ibang bansa nagpadala ng pera S. Korea to support the growth of their economy. Ang difference, hindi ninakaw.

      Delete
    9. LOLOLOL Japan opened itself to international trade kaya sila lumago.

I say, invest on our kids, palakasin ang edukasyon, palawakin ang isip nila. But the kids have a huge room for personal growth, mabigyan sana silang lahat ng magandang edukasyon, maraming oportunidad and wag malulong sa showbiz. Joining showbiz shouldn't be their ultimate dream.

      Delete
    11. 12:39, bago ka kumuda ng "read up" dyan, eh sana nagbasa ka rin kuna. sabi nga sa comment sa itaas, "Meron kasi silang pride na kaya nila on their own. May disiplina silang kayanin on their own." Ok na?

    12. Japan is on a different level. People wise, accept it.

    13. 12:41 I believe under Duterte's admin mababawasan ang mga corrupt.

      Delete
    14. Still bringing up WWII Anon 12:39? Wala namang kinalaman sa comment nung anon ung tungkol sa war. We're talking about economy. Bakit ba maraming gusto sa inyo na mag beg for help all the time from other countries? Ayaw nyo maging self sufficient?

And that is why we should let the government right now do its thing to implement the laws and clean the government of corruption. By doing so, madidisiplina rin tayo, whether we like it or not. I mean who wants to be in jail di ba?

      Delete
Wala silang time dyan haha

    17. The difference between the Japanese and us Pinoys is that we lack patriotism. The Japs loved their own first before others - their history, culture and identity - and upheld them. Whereas we Pinoys love everything and anything foreign. So no, we cannot be like the Japanese, Koreans and Chinese. We have this sickness called "pwede na, bahala na, crab-mentality" and we are notorious at not following the rules and simple instructions!

      Delete

      Delete
    19. Agree @1:03! Simple instruction hinde gets ng mga pinoy. Don't even get me started on the crab mentality. That's why Pinas will remain a 3rd world country because the ppl bring each other down. How can one person have patriotism when the ppl who govern them have this sick idea of patriotism? There's nothing wrong with asking for help from allies. Even the US who is a superpower has no problem relying on other countries for certain things. That's how you get trade, jobs, and resources. Look at North Korea. Look at what happens when you think so highly of yourself to the point of isolation. Ppl are starving and dying. Leader kills and belittles anyone who doesn't agree with him. Sounds awfully familiar huh?

      Delete
    20. The difference is that Japan is disciplined and their government treasures its people's talents in every sector. Filipinos just bash each other and the government doesn't even support its own people. You have filipinos living the american dream because they have a community and a govt that supports and helps them. In Pinas, what help do you get from your govt to achieve those dreams? Nothing. They're too busy lining up their pockets with other ppl's money and most ppl don't look out for each other.

      Delete
Tell this president if he wants to change and make a better Philippines, the good change should start from himself too. He should start by setting an example. This... is goodluck!

      Delete
    22. Anon 1:35, i disagree wholeheartedly, oo may saltik saulo ang mga filipinos pero hindi naman eto ang main reason why we are considered as a third world country. You want to know the main reason? CORRUPTION!

  4. I read Lorraine's entry on facebook, and I must say she presented her case well.
I live and work in the U.S. and it is heartbreaking that there are some Pinoys who downgrade themselves as part of the third world - - just like Agot.
We need to change our mindset, and start to dream big. We need to continuously aspire for a better country with rapid economic reforms and the long-sought peace and order across the country.

    1. Noy downgrading but facing the reality

    2. Its not downgrading its facing and accepting the fact. However you try to sugarcoat it, the Philippines is really a third-world country. Nothing wrong in dreaming big but please lets be honest here, the Phils is indeed very poor. Masyado kasi tayong balat sibuyas.

      Delete
    3. There's nothing wrong in changing from 3rd world country. The problem with pinoys in the Philippines is to be contented with what they have. Dream big, don't just say it's ok, I'm in third world country. No, it's not okey.

    7. How can we, as a country go a long way, when our president is unstable and unpredictable??? 3 months pa lang, inaway na lahat ng international organizations. I understand Agot. Her point is Duterte, if he is a real diplomat should stop picking fights with other countries coz this will affect our economy. Even if the Phil is safe and cleared of drugs which is impossible, who investor, in their right mind, would put their money into our country knowing how volatile Duterte is. He cuts off ties with a long time ally which is the super power America, and he insists to associate himself with China who is our number one enemy?? Weird.

I am not enjoying it as I watched both side defending their opathetic. So pathetic mincing and minding each others mistakes. Busy maghilahan pababa. Busy magpuna at patutsada. Magtulongan tayo mai-angat ang ating ekonomiya at walang imposible kung magsikap na gamit din ng utak, may tiwala sa sarili at always say a prayer to God to have guidance in making good decisions. Basta ang di ko lang gusto 1. yung unnecessary cuss words coming from the mouth of our President and, 2. yung madaming patay. 23. May point sya. Pero kaya ba talaga natin? Kasi some Filipino's are dependent parin hindi kumikilos, gusto nila ng pag babago iaasa pa nila ss iba but hindi nila kaya baguhin ang sarili nila. Kung gusto ng pagbabago be a change. They moved far away from home to find job and to cope and learn eh mga pinoy ba?

Parang pumapanig sya dito.

Tell me, why didn't he pledge to help the Philippines stop the scourge of drug lords in our country? Is it because the drug lords are connected to the opposition, the Liberal Party, America's poodle?

Digong is trying to clean up the century-old mess of this country, including the dependent-to-others mentality that has developed in us that it has become innate already. Drugs and corruption are just the tip of an iceberg, freeing the people from the emotional bondage and dependency is another because it has become our very own way of life. I pray for P Digong. 31. Not just Philippines, nations around the world should stop relying on USA. When you rely on someone, you give them leverage. China and Russia knows that, that's why they refused to kowtow to US.

US act for their own self interest only. If war ever breaks out between China and Taiwan or in South China Sea, USA wouldn't give a damn.

    1. So you think China and Russia are not after their own self interest? We don't want to bow down to them because we're a democracy. We don't want to be a communist. Don't forget where China was just several years ago. Closed in from the rest of the world and under a Communist regime. The only reason why their economy is booming now is because they make cheap s*** that Americans and the rest of the world buy. If they dare stop trade with us, guess who's gonna suffer? It's not gonna be the Americans. As a matter of fact, China's economy is not as great as before and the economic boom is no more.

  39. Filipinos are also the ones ruining the chances to have a productive and dignified country. Until now, we still have no self-identity. Jose Rizal was on point when he described the DONYA VICTORINA character in his novels.

Filipinos look down on their fellow countrymen when they have stayed or lived abroad, permanently or temporarily, or got married to foreigners. Some have superiority complex thereafter.

Hope we can be like Japan, Singapore and South Korea in terms of cultural, historic and identity values.

They support their own. They follow rules and regulations. They have fear in the laws implemented in their countries. They develop and sustain their culture, history and belief. They walk the talk.

Their government is giving 100% support in everything. Like what Heneral Luna said in the movie, Filipinos themselves are the ones destroying their own country. There is no unity, only division of ideas, opinions, belief and identity.
