    3. Buong storya? Salbahe na taxi driver. Seriously that's why I take Uber. No haggling. Vehicle is always clean and new-ish. Drivers are professional and polite. They don't make you feel like you owe them for taking you on as a passenger. No need to tip. Meter is fare, walang batingting. And if the Uber driver took a route that you disagree with, you can complain and their customer service responds in less than 24 hours - they have a system that tracks the routes of their cars and they can use that to determine if the driver indeed went around in circles.] If walang surge, mag Uber na lang kayo. Same lang sa taxi, in a way mas mura sila kasi wala ng mga plus 50 or keep the change.

    4. 11:40 hindi ka nagti-tip ano? Cheap!

    5. Pro Uber here. Dapat umayos na regular cab drivers kasi sa competition na uber at grab car kami pumupunta kasi pagod na kami sa decades of cab drivers lording over us when we didn't have a choice.

  6. Something weird happened to me. After waiting for an hour for a cab, I finally got a dilapidated one with an elderly male driver. I didn't even mind that playing on his cd is a taped Christian preaching session. Since I was tired, I closed my eyes but nevertheless listened to the preaching. He tapped my shoulder and asked my religion. I said Im a Catholic but I don't mind listening to his cd. He seemed agitated and not content with my answer. He turned off the volume and did the preaching himself. He kept on telling me that I have to accept Jesus wholeheartedly before I could be saved. I said I agree with him, and I have in fact accepted Jesus in my life, but he said I was fooling him because I am still Catholic. That I have a big problem with that etc etc. Since I usually don't engage on debates about religion, So I just kept quiet and let him talk. When he realized that Im no longer responding, he got mad and started talking in a loud voice. I continued to ignore his taunting until he got tired. Honestly, Im quite amused rather than offended. Then I got the surprise of my life. He turned the cd on at full volume, like the car is about to explode. I opened my window and it caught the attention of a traffic enforcer. We got flagged down and he was issued a violation ticket. I also complained to the enforcer that I was being bullied, so he advised me to get off the cab without paying anything. Which I did. This happened 15 years ago but until today I still can't forget this funny experience.

    1. Baks halos pareho tayo ng experience. 3 yrs ago, I took a cab from MOA to Makati. This poorly maintained cab was being driven by an elderly man. He was listening to a religious program. He asked me what my religion is and I was not in the mood to discuss religion so I said I'm an Atheist even if I'm not. Then sabi nya "sino ang sinasamba mo? Si Satanas?". He went on and on about how I'm going to hell etc. He handed me a paper with some religious scriptures and told me to convert so I'd be saved. I politely said "no thanks". He got mad and stopped the cab in the middle of the road (Buendia) and ordered me out.

    3. Hi Anon 8:09pm and 9:40pm, are you familiar with Jessica Zafra? She has a post regarding a similar situation sa blog niya, medyo creepy lang yung sa kanya kasi parang nasapian yung driver ranting about religion etc pero parang ganito rin

      Nagmamahal, Elphaba

Pwe!

    1. May point ka 11.29

    2. Tama din naman. From the start dapat humindi siya and Hindi sumakay.

Pumanget siya sa inis, so what. Sasaya buhay nila if you engage them to a shouting match.

Kung ayaw nilang matrapik e di magpulis sila o magpolitiks.......

    4. May verbal contract e

      Delete
    5. Agree. Getting in inspite of the 50 pesos add-on demand means you agree to his condition. Poor taxi driver, just pay the agreed price, instead of dragging your father and ranting on social media. Tsehhh feeling so entitled.

    7. It is ILLEGAL / AGAINST THE LAW to add amounts over the metered rate.

For those saying there is a "verbal contract," you are wrong.

The law cannot be construed to reward illegal practices. There is no gray area there.
