Harvey took full responsibility of the awkward moment and penned his sincerest apologies on live television and on social media; however, this isn't the first time that a "non-traditional crowning moment" (as Pia herself stated after the show) occurs on TV. In fact, the same thing happened to two beauty contestants in Puerto Rico 15 years ago! Miss Vieques Puerto Rico and Miss Toa Alta Puerto Rico were the last two standing, when Miss Vieques was announced as first runner up, making Miss Toa Alta the queen. Unlike Harvey, host Francisco Zamora gave the correct information. The incident turned uncomfortable for both beauties when the wrong contestant was being crowned.
“Wilnelia, it's Toa Alta, it's Toa Alta”, assured the Telemundo host in the midst of the crowning. See? No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes.
At least eto walang dramatic candidate sa stage! Walang iyakan na ngyari! Sports lahat ng candidates...Hahaha sana ganito na lang ginawa ni Colombia.. Accept the defeat and be proud of what you achieved as a 1st runner up. Eh wala eh.. **tchesa talaga si Colombia!
ReplyDeleteSito klarong klaro ang mga hosts na sinabi nila si Alta ang nanalo. Ng mga t*ngang tagdala ng korona at bulaklak ay di marunong magbasa s mga shashes ng mga kandidata kung sino si alta at vieques. Or bingi lang talaga sila. Inulit pa ng hosts na 'Hoy Alta, Alta'

ReplyDeleteHahahaha sya na mismo nagpasa ng crown. Ganyan dapat ang ginawa ni colombia. Hindi yung mega cry ang ginawa parang bata. At pati kababayan nya tuloy mga isip bata din. Grabe pangbabash nila kay pia kawawa naman yung tao wala nmang kasalanan sa kanila. Si colombia kse super nag expect siguro na sya na ang ms universe kaya hindi nya matanggap tanggap na isang pinay pala ang tatalo sa kanya. Karma nya sa sobrang self confidence.
ReplyDeleteExactly! Parang bata talaga si Ms. Colombia parang inagawan lang ng candy. Nakakahiya talaga ang ganyang asal. No wonder hindi siya ang nanalo.

ReplyDeleteOo nga. Parehas mga colors pati rankings, then yung pagka palit ng winner. White as USA 2nd runner up. Then gold as Colombia crowned as the winner while blue as The Philippines and first runner up. Tapos yung blue pala ang panalo.
DeleteThe only difference is the one wearing gold gown was gracious enough to pass the crown to the one wearing the blue gown.

DeleteMedyo natakot ako ng very light kay kuyang host! Parang nanenermon. Haha! Pero sino ba kasi yung nagaaward. Di ba nila nababasa yung sash. Si ate naman tanggap lang ng korona eh trophy ang binibigay sa runner up :D
ReplyDeleteWalang ngpahiya kay colombia kundi sarili nia. Sana inalis nia na lang un crown at binigay kay philippines dat way walang ganitong issue. Masyado kse ciang bilib sa sarili nia e nahype lang naman cia di naman din cia ganun kaganda like sabi na she's the most beautiful of all candidates..excuse me..kabayotic beauty nga cia ano..
ReplyDeleteWilnelia is the wife of UK celebrity Bruce Forsyth. So embarrassing she didn't know who was the real winner, she just stood there like she didn't understand anything.
