You can learn so much about a person's attidue based on how that person interacts with servers/waiters.. Most people in restaurants will base you on how you look, what clothing label you are wearing, what food you ordered or what drink you're having, but in all honesty, you can see a person's real attitude base on how he/she treats his/her waiter.. Like what J.K. Rowling said; "If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals." Kudos to you Liza.. You are truly beautiful inside and out.. OFW from Dubai here. $10 is about 35 dirhams. Sa hotel nga namin sa mga bellboys 10-20 Dirhams binibigay kahit mayaman yung guest. Haha. And I don't think that's the point. The point is na-appreciate ng kababayan natin yung tip nya and kabaitan niya.
Di ako taga Dubai pero I've been to Dubai twice. First time ko I tried to tip a gas boy na Pilipino pero di niya tinanggap kasi di daw pwede. The restaurants I've visited there most din talaga may service charge na. They do this para there's no discrimination or bias in serving customers. So my guess is maybe nag bigay siguro si Liza dahil kababayan yung server. Anyway we can only speculate but there's no need to belittle what she did or gave especially if we don't know the circumstances. For the waiter to mention it means he really appreciated the tip plus he got a picture pa.

Kung server nga ang Mom nya, then Liza knows this. For a group of more than 6 kasama na sa bill ang gratuity. That's probably why Liza knows how to tip. Sa Japan it's a no no. When we were in NY my friend forgot to tip because we were in a hurry. She paid in cash kase nga nagmamadali kami, the server ran after us sa labas ng resto and reminded my friend about the tip. The server was a Japanese. Napahiya kami but my friend compensated for the omission and gave the server a good tip.

Waiting staff earns their wages from tips alone. They do not even receive minimum wage dito sa Amerika. If may service charge yan na kasama sa bill then the customer is not entitled to give the waiter any tip, and giving them the extra tip is clearly an act of generosity.. Kmi personally whenever we are on vacation sa states or in London, my mom usually leaves a $20/£10 bill, pero pag natuwa siya sa waiter, sometimes she gives as high as $50, but never seen give a $100 tip.. And that is for those resto with service charge already.. Geez Louise, some people talaga..

Most people in restaurants will base you on how you look, what clothing label you are wearing, what food you ordered or what drink you're having, but in all honesty, you can see a person's real attitude base on how he/she treats his/her waiter.. Like what J.K. Rowling said; "If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals." Kudos to you Liza.. You are truly beautiful inside and out.. Nobody gives a rat's ass how much you tip in your personal life. Nobody even knows how much the bill is and if the tip was already included and Liza just decided to give the extra tip. That's the problem with the world today. People are so quick to assume, so quick to judge without knowing the whole story. Maybe some of you should take a lesson from the server himself. DeleteTipping Rules vary by country. This is a Dubai Layover. Dubai's government mandates adding a 10 percent service charge to all bills at hotels, restaurants, and bars. (Tips are usually divided equally among staff but sometimes go directly to the people who have helped you.) So, it was not necessary for anyone from her group to give a tip but she did, that's the reason why our Kababayan who served her was grateful. And pls keep Liza away from your smirks behind those keyboards bec. for Pete's Sake, this young lady is just 17yrs old and that alone would have been an enough reason not to tip. DeleteNakakatawa yun nga nega yun binigyan tuwang tuwa dun sa binigay na 10dollars pero yun mga nega na kuda ng kuda lang eh sila pa yun nega buhay nga naman parang life maging masaya nalang kayo at may napasaya si liza iba kayo mga nega laki problema sa buhay ah walang kasiyahan.

So, it was not necessary for anyone from her group to give a tip. Please keep Liza away from your smirks behind those keyboards because for all we know, she is just 17yrs old...that alone would have been enough reason for her not to give a tip. But in cases when tipping is not necessary, why do you tip? bec you appreciate the service. And why did our kababayan post this in social media? Bec he/she is grateful. GRATEFUL. ReplyDelete36 dirhams which is more than the custom 10-20 dirhams for tipping. Wala namang nagbibig deal eh diba, yung nakatanggap mismo ang nagpasalamat, marunong ka pa sa kanya?
DeleteOFW from Dubai here. $10 is about 35 dirhams. Sa hotel nga namin sa mga bellboys 10-20 Dirhams binibigay kahit mayaman yung guest. Haha. And I don't think that's the point. The point is na-appreciate ng kababayan natin yung tip nya and kabaitan niya.

ReplyDeleteDi ako taga Dubai pero I've been to Dubai twice. First time ko I tried to tip a gas boy na Pilipino pero di niya tinanggap kasi di daw pwede. The restaurants I've visited there most din talaga may service charge na. They do this para there's no discrimination or bias in serving customers. So my guess is maybe nag bigay siguro si Liza dahil kababayan yung server. Anyway we can only speculate but there's no need to belittle what she did or gave especially if we don't know the circumstances. For the waiter to mention it means he really appreciated the tip plus he got a picture pa.
