    2. Igorot, ifugao, ipugao iisa lang yun..makapagkorek ka nmn teh,ala nmn sa hulog..wag kasi papansin maxado

    3. Wrong. Some indigenous people take offense at the Igorot label. Saka, there is no ethnic group as "Igorot." Ifugao is the more correct term.

      Delete
    4. Incorrect Glinda. Igorot is only derogatory if the intention was derogatory. Igorot is the collective name for our highland brothers and they can be either Ifugao, Kankanaey, Kalinga, etc.

    5. Nope, a representative from the Cordillera once passed a Congress resolution against the use of the term Igorot. Kahit sa Lam-Ang ng mga Ilocano, Igorot comes off as a derogatory term. May tamang term naman for the ethnic group and that is Ifugao. Call a spade a spade.

    6. Nope, even people from Cordillera do not like being called Igorot when they have specific ethnic groups to take pride of. Igorot is a term by lowlanders and not an endonym. It means mountain-dweller

    7. from where are you Glinda Guerrero? You are definitely misinformed. Congressman Domogan tried to change Igorot to Cordillerans but never succeeded. Yes, it was originally used as a derogatory word but was adopted as a collective name for the people of Mountain Province which was originally composed of the provinces in CAR.

    8. Specifically what ethnic group, 6:23? Because what you're saying is that it was only used for a numbr of ethnic groups, especifically Bontoc, Kankanaey, Kalinga, Isneg and Ibaloi, but not Ifugao and Itneg. The costume Jason Balabal is carrying here is Ifugao.

    9. True Cordillerans are proud to be called Igorot Ms. Glinda Guerero. They even print on shirts like FBI (Full Blooded Igorot). Some are only afraid or ashamed being called as one because of the wrong impressions and false generalization known to many about being an Igorot, which they cannot stand to correct.

    10. True Cordillerans?? Are you saying that we can determine which Cordillerans are "true" and which ones are "false" based on their acceptance of the term "Ifugao?" Now that is ridiculuous sweetie.

    11. When you are in either of the provinces in the cordillera region, the kankana-eys are kankan-eys, the kalingas are kalingas, the ifugaos are ifugaos. when your out of the cordillera, everyone is an Igorot.
Just like when your in the Philippines, we call ourselves Igorots, the visayans - bisaya (where the ilonggos strongly opposed called as such), the tagalog as tagalogs.
Try visiting mindanao when your from Luzon, the normal person will call you tagalog, or taga manila even if your from bicol, ilocandia, so long as your from luzon then you are from manila.
Even in the cordilleras, they call manila manila when in fact manila is different from pasay.
We are innate regionalistic. The individual is more important than the whole.
Hopefully in the future we realise that we are Filipinos, all equal, irregardless if your aeta, maranaw, badjao, tagalog, boholano, bisaya.

    2. Hay korek 12:43 am. Yang mga tulad ni 12:11 yung mahilig kumuda ng "da who" sa ibang artist para masabi lang na superior kuno sila, as if naman may pakialam ang mga artista sa kanila.

    3. SANDALS? Walang pong foot wear ang ganyan cultural attire.

      Delete

    5. Naloka akez sa ethnic SCANDAL! Hahahaha.

    1. Ay, meganun? Di ako igorot pero I've worn the bahag many times (and yes, without undies). Masaya kaya! Parang cultural immersion lang ang peg.

    2. hindi ako igorot, ifugao ako, pero hindi pa rin ako nakasuot nyan. wala naman na nagsusuot nyan ngayon e. pang cultural show at school programs na lang.

    3. @12:46, Igorot = collective term for ethnic groups in CAR, including Ifugao.

      Delete
    4. @10:17. Not really. Many Ifugaos believe they're a separate group, as do tribes from Kalinga. Igorot is now thought of to pertain to groups from Benguet and Mt. Province like the Ibalois, Kankanaeys, and Kalanguyas.

  5. nice...sana ganyan palaga...pang-ethnic ang suot.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Bravo! Sana hindi ngayon lang. Sana marami pang international & significant instances in the future na mai suot ang igorot traditional clothing, hindi lang yung bahag at sana yung sa iba tribes naman like yung sa mga ibaloys & kankana-eys. Para naman hindi laging barong at saya ang na sho showcase kasi very rich in culture & tradition ang bayan natin
