Nope. Never naging pareho ang echo at copy..

How can you say that? That's right smack of regionalism. Do you even have a log of all the people coming to Tacloban to help or at their homes organizing and segregating relief goods? I have a number of friends from Manila and Bulacan who are in Tacloban right now, performing medical missions and distributing prepacked food and drinks. They're sharing their time, talent, and money; they went to Tacloban at their own expense, with no government backing whatsoever and they are not asking for recognition. Walang selfie-selfie doon saying that "they're from Manila and helping." They've been there since Tuesday helping out. Don't say na walang ginagawa ang Manila for Leyte.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Who cares about the synonyms of echo? What is clear here is that she's trying to make cnn look less credible than abs-cbn.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Nope. She mentioned CNN in order to back up ABSCBN's claims regarding the relief goods. So she used CNN to make ABS more credible.

    2. I don't think ces can put down an institution such as cnn. She's trying to put abs in the same sentence with cnn to build up abs.

  9. Tsk..tsk.. Yung iba kasi masyado literal magtranslate ng english to tagalog.. Parang kay anderson cooper din sinabi nya No government presence felt in tacloban.. Pero pinalabas na wala daw government official.. Helllooo!! Government was not use to attribute to a person lang..

  10. Thats true. Ive noticed this since day 1. ABS-CBN has been consistent in its reportage that there was little work being done in Leyte. No or very little relief operation, no retrieval operation, corpses being left to rott, etc. Its just unfortunate that Korina have to make such Stup!d comment against Anderson Cooper and taint the image of ABS-CBN. Anyway, ABS-CBN is not Korina and Korina is not ABS-CBN. I still salute the news team from ABS-CBN.

    10. THEN SHE SHOULDN'T BE TWEETING THAT KIND OF STATEMENT. WHAT IS SHE TRYING TO IMPLY? PEOPLE WILL MISUNDERSTOOD. THERE'S SO MUCH ANIMOSITY TO KORINA FOR WHAT SHE SAID ALREADY. THEY SHOULD JUST STOP ASSOCIATING THEMSELVES WITH THE FOREIGN MEDIA....

    11. Hay naku, Anon 2:12. Ces is not to be blamed if people like you MISUNDERSTAND her statement. Hindi literal na ECHO ang pinaguusapan dito. Ces is NOT implying that CNN based their report on ABSCBN's. She just meant "pareho kami ng pananaw." NAKAKALOKA KA!

  19. JOSKO naman sa mga iba dito. Ces Drilon is saying it as it is. Sad to say it took THE Anderson Cooper to make that point that the government's presence is not felt there. The broadcasters and journalists only related what the victims have been going trough. Kung sa pakiramdam at obserbasyon ng mga biktima na hindi sapat ang tulong kung meron man the government should heed it as a sign na may pagkukulang sa kanilang effort. Pwes dagdagan ang effort at i-improve ang dapat i-improve. Hwag balat sibuyas. After all, ang mamayan ang boss nila. Naninilbihan sila sa mamamayan.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh please. I still respect Ms. Ces Drilon more than Korina Sanchez or Karen Davila. Hahaha :-)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Bangag ba yung mga nagre-react dito? Ces was not maligning CNN. She was saying na pareho ang observations nila at ng CNN--na matumal ang relief efforts ng government. I think y'all are confusing Ces Drilon and Korina Sanchez.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't it's right to classify her as a "patola". I guess she just had to clarify the issue on the misunderstanding between "echo" and "copy". If she didn't clarify herself and let that commenter put words into her mouth, for sure, the media and some shallow people will twist her tweet and make it seem like she's accusing CNN of copying their reports and FOR SURE, a lawsuit is to come her way for libel.

I think her actions are fully justified.

    ReplyDelete
  23. We have to face facts that despite mountains of relief goods, numerous aids from around the world, billions of donations, our government can't seem to handle the situation in Tacloban. The officials might be there but very little help reaches those who need it. That's what AC meant with no government presence is felt there. And abs had indeed mentioned this as well on their reports. It's the reaction of Mrs Roxas that didn't seat well on a lot of us. I still salute all media outlets for showing us what's been happening thus being instrumental in making us want to help out.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lets not be too hard naman sa gobyerno natin. Kahit naman paano d na halos natutulog iyong mga yan just to keep up with everything that is happening. Makipag cooperate nalang tayo sa gobyerno natin than mag magaling. Now kung talagang feeling nyo matalino kayo at may plano

  25. yung mga iba naman dito, kung maka-react. first of all, abs-cbn is the philippine affiliate of cnn. in fact, if you watch cnn, they mention this. second of all, ces is not saying that cnn is copying abs; as others have pointed out, she is saying that both have the same observation on the matter. lastly, if you watch tv patrol, the reports are just as critical of the relief efforts as those on cnn - so mahirap sabihin na biased ang reporting. now as for korina - naku, ibang matter na yun altogether...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hirap kasing umintindi yung ibang kapuso dyan. they always associate korina with abs-cbn as if she's its voice

  26. When you say echoing, meaning you're amplifying the message. Same message, pero you're just reiterating for everyone to hear. Hindi sila magsingtugma ng copying. So Ces here wasn't criticizing CNN here, she's actually lauding CNN for echoing their message since the beginning. Now if some of you don't know the meaning of "lauding", "reiterating", "defaming", malamang you are the same people who don't get what Ces is trying to say. Hay nako talaga.

  30. Echoing. - is broad. Pero I think what she meant when she said that was the two news teams have the same observations that they voice out.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Regardless of the verb used, what's obvious now is that ABS as a news team lost its credibility the moment Ms. K became related to the DILG sec. Simple as that.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's your opinion. I also believe that GMA lost their credibility when Arnold Clavio embarrased a lawyer on national TV. And the fact that they are not KBP member. If you want to know the reason why the are not member of KBP? Ask GMA channel 7. :)

      Delete
  32. Reading the comments here -- andaming feeling matalinong commenters. She is merely stating that CNN reporters and ABS reporters have same observations on the ground/field, kumbaga they share the same sentiments.

    ReplyDelete
  33. hays..ces is jus said that CNN & ABS is shared the sentiments of they observed. yun na po yun.

    ReplyDelete
  34. the bottom line is tha CNN & ABS shared the same sentiments on what they observe or perhaps saw in Tacloban. for me that is the meaning of Echoing of CNN to ABS. Peace!

    ReplyDelete
