Has My Husband's Lover Inspired Them? TV5's Perci Intalan and Direk Jun Lana Announce Engagement. Will Wed October

Source: www.interaksyon.com

It’s official!

TV5 FVP for creative and entertainment production Perci Intalan is engaged to his boyfriend of 10 years — Jun Lana, the award-winning writer-director of “Bwakaw”. The gay couple will tie the knot in New York City in October — to the approval and delight of friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

“Yes, I’m getting married. Thank you!” Perci told News5 with a hearty laugh. “Nakakatuwa lahat ng reaksyon. I never thought I’d be on this side of the interview. Nakaka-overwhelm ang suporta. ”In our situation it’s all spontaneous, pero alam namin gusto namin.”

Perci and Jun, who are both in their early 40s, made the decision to get married while celebrating their 10th anniversary on Tuesday.

“10 years of love, laughter and respect. That’s about 50 in straight years,” Jun said on Facebook that day, a post accompanied by a photo of a framed portrait of the couple.

So who proposed to whom? According to Perci, the decision was really spontaneous. It just happened after he gifted the both of them with matching engagement rings (right).

In a spur of the moment, they decided to post a picture of the rings on Facebook with the caption, “You are cordially invited…”

“We’re really blessed,” Perci acknowledged. “Bukod sa relationshop sa isa’t isa, all our friends and family know about us. This is just graduating and making it official.”

The couple realizes that the wedding will not be legally binding in the Philippines.

“To be perfectly candid, whatever is official there doesn’t necessarily apply here. But I think it’s the act and going somewhere which is officially recognized means something to us,” Perci said.

    1. No, same sex marriage is not legal YET in the Philippines. The US Supreme Court recently ruled that same sex marriage is legal, which is probably the reason why they decided to tie the knot in New York.

    2. "The gay couple will tie the knot in New York City in October"

    4. NYC baby! In England, as long as the marriage is legal in their chosen place abroad, the English Courts would recognise their marriage as lawful. Sayang naman....

  7. If they are both Filipino citizens, even if they get married abroad , Philippine laws will still apply. Thus, the marriage is still illegal.

    1. Di man kilalanin yung pagpapakasal nila, as long as nag-commit sila ng panghabambuhay, yun ang mas importante.

  13. civil code, article 15 says that with regard to civil status etc, a Filipino shall follow his national law wherever he may be. all that were said above is true. even if you get married in several states, country that recognize gay marriages, if you are Filipino, you are bound by your national law meaning, HINDI KA KASAL. Single pa rin ang civil status mo.

    -nakikisawsaw na bitter na badaf

p.s. off topic, just to illustrate my national law example, even if you get a divorce in 200 countries, if you are Filipino, you follow your national law hence you are still married under our laws. (exception kapag foreigner ang spouse mo at sya ang nag-initiate ng diborsyo)
