Battle rounds po ang laban nila last night, hindi blind auditon. Kumbaga sa studies kahit anong galing mo nung grade 1, pagdating sa grade 2 ay kailangan mo pa ring mag-aral ng mabuti dahil hindi ike-credit ang grades mo before. Kung ganon lang din ang basis sana hindi na lang nagbattle rounds. Sayang kuryente ng ABSCBN at effort ng artists.
His explaination just confirms his favoritism. Admitting Lee LOST the battle but chose her. Dan who really WON didn't get his chance to compete because Bamboo chose to give Lee a second CHANCE. He should not explain his side, mas lalo lang nakita favoritism sa kanya.
I don't think you get Bamboo's real sentiments. It is his job as a coach to go deeper into the soul of every member of his team. Hindi komo naging mas magaling lang yung isa at that point, forever hopeless na yung isang less magaling. The Coach has "seen through" each of them and knows what they are capable of achieving in the long term. He chose Lee over Dan because he knows Lee can deliver more than Dan after thorough and careful polishing.

Decisions should be made on the performance during the battles. Not on what they heard during the blind auditions. Been disappointed with a lot of bamboo's choices na parang pretty but lacks the raw talent. Lee seemed to be a great find. But during the battles, Dan stood out. Gut instinct pinairal ni Bamboo instead of technicality. Sana lang di na nya pinagbattle and pushed lee to the next round kasi nasayang effort ni Dan.

I was disappointed too because Dan clearly won that night. It's called The Battle for a reason - that they are to be judged on that performance. It's so unfair that Bamboo just let Lee won because he knows that she has potential. I was really rooting for him as the best coach. But now? Meh.
I get bamboo's point. It's just so sad that the deserving Dan had to suffer to make way for Lee. The Voice is not a charity nor a babysitting program. I admire bamboo's intention..but his means did not justify the end.. admit it.. what he did was a lousy move.. poor Dan, a victim of circumstance... sana hindI na lang sila nagshowdown kasi, hindi pa man alam na ni Bamboo kung sino ang ilalaglag nya. I was actually rooting for lee since the blinds. But hate to admit, after the battle, its really Dan who won it. Lee is a crowd fave so if bamboo chose Dan then i would honestly had more respect for him in terms being able to make the hard decisions & being fair. Sure he challenged her with the song, but seemed she didnt overcome it.. and would be unfair to say it wasnt a challenge to Dan so he had it easy.. Even if, dan should not be penalized for being GIVEN an 'easy' song to sing. Guess its still personality/background based since Lee "had a story to tell". Then why go through the battles at all? Seems like a done deal then since dan "didnt have the story". Just thought boses ang labanan. The voice not the story. Hope the other coaches keep the show's awesomeness just how it started.

Lee is really good, i would vote for dan hearing that battle round but i had heard lee sang in her blind audi and i am sure that here voice could land on the top 5, APL also made a wrong pairing, both were good but it was a definite lost for lorenzanas, leah and sarah provided us with a BATTLE, honestly both pairings are hard to judge, they provided could equal each other.
THOUGH, i also agree with bamboo that he wanted to squeeze something out of lee, the arrangement for her exposes a different side of her voice which is not her and and doesn't even suit her.
The battle winner should be chosen based on the current performance and not on future and past performances. The fact that she did not do well only showed she isn't THE VOICE.
Hopefully she doesn't end up winning because of favouritism.
Big mistake for Bamboo to choose a song that was totally unsuitable for Lee. Showed her weakness. Hope he chooses better songs next time. And the reason why he chose Lee over Dan makes me conclude that anyone up against Lee will just lose. It was just unfortunate that Dan was it. So disappointed with Bamboo.

I believe what you said before you chose Lee is that you believe in artistry blah blah blah. So from that, I think no matter how awesome Dan's performance would have been or how worse Lee's performance could have been on that battle, I think you will still choose Lee. And please, dont remind us that youre the only coach that turned for Dan. I know you watch Voice US and I know some coaches have to turn for some mediocre contestants so that theyll be the sacrifice for your favorite contestant. We're smarter than you think!
these controversies also happens in other voice franchise. the battle round is the coaches' discretion so it's their strategy if they think that one particular singer will have a better chance in going all-the-way through the live shows. watch the US/UK version, they have far more worst decisions than this one of Bamboo's.

I knew it. This guy is just so overrated as coach. Lee and Dan's battle was good, and Dan clearly won that fight. The battle between Morisette and Lecelle was impressive. They complement each other very well. The Lorenzanas VS Tristan wasn't much an attention getter. Mitoy and Chien's battle wasn't a battle at all. Mitoy clearly stole the moment leaving Chien far behind. As for the other coaches, they all did well, especially Lea Salonga as she we was consistent on being a front runner among the coaches. And in all fairness, I find Sarah a revelation in the show. A lot of people underestimated her as coach for being young but the girl actually did good for her first battle. Maybe, we were just too harsh on her for sitting on that red chair at a young age.
my thought on this naman is that bamboo is obviously looking beyond BR for lee, he obviously has a "plan" for her, clearly he experimented on lee at the expense of Dan..he wanted to push lee, too see more what she can offer, to perform a song not her genre..sadly lee failed to deliver, that whole BR was all about seeing more of lee...and not about lee and Dan..with what happened kasi na obvious yung favoritism..if bamboo believe in lee so much he could have paired her with a "weaker" artist, that way kung pipiliin niya si lee it won't create a fuzz, but he didn't..he chose to experiment on lee..and failed, on the other hand pwede ring strategy , as i said bamboo is looking beyond the battles for lee b/n lee and dan mas ma-mamarket mo si lee coz may hype na siya during the blinds may fans na eh, too bad lang talaga for Dan..he came out as a dispensable one albeit the better performance.

Yeah you're right Lee Grane is such a good singer. But in the battle that happened last Saturday Dan stands out. Unfair si Bamboo. </3 I like Lee Grane more than Dan but we have to be fair it should be Dan. I know I'm not a good singer pero nakakaapreciate naman ako at alam ko kung sino yung mas maganda mag performed. Seriously, while reading this thread, i find his name "BAMBOO" so sexy. Kapag nagkaanak ako gusto ko parang ganyan ang name. Haha. But regarding this issue, i feel sad for Dan. Okay lang matalo sa laban kung alam mo sa sarili mo na talo ka talaga. Pero kung lumaban ka ng patas at nakita mong mas nag-excel ka naman sa kalaban mo tapos talo ka pa rin ay ibang usapan na yun. Kung sa basketball, bugbugan na yun. The pairing itself, alam na alam mo na agad kung sinong mas madaling i-let go but poor Bamboo hindi napangatawanan ni Lee at si Dan naman ay umangat ng sobra.
too bad that the decision of the voice judges are final and irrevocable.... I hope next time justice can be done for those who perform very well! To Bamboo please, judge according to the performance during the battle. Past or future history of the performers is not included in the criteria, judging must be based on the voice that is why it's called the voice. It's fo madam charo santos to judge if the performers has a good story to be featured in MMK and not yours. Pls focus on the VOICE.
Ikaw nga mismo nagsabi nung session nyo na ang tunog ni Lee nugn nag gigitara at kumakanta sya eh parang tugtog ng ANAK at saib mo pa..ayaw mo syang maging one trick pony...eh anong nangyari nung Battle round..diba parang naging ganon nga tunog nya..halos di mo marinig boses nya, parang Back Up singer sya ni Dan...just admit that you made a wrong choice..kasi may FAVORITISM ka talaga.
To the other members of camp kawayawan, for the battle rounds, no need to practice. Just make pacute kay bamboo parang maging favorite niya kayo. It's useless to work your *ss off, look at poor Dan. Kahit siguro lumuha sya ng dugo wala pa rin. Respect for Bamboo's decision? How about respect for Dan' dreams?

I agree. Ayaw niya lang aminin sa sarili niya na gusto niya talaga si lee grane. Ibig sabihin, if iba yung minatch kay lee, siya pa rin pipiliin niya. kawawa naman yung ibang contestant under kay bamboo kung ganun.

Ano pang silbi ng battle round if luto na pla at may napili na. You believe lee has it, and giving her the chance to continue the voice journey. How about Dan?? He did sumthing amazing over lee. Sana nakatlikod na lng kayo ulit at hindi nkita mga mukha nila. I know, in ur heart mr bamboo that you will choose Dan over Lee pag ngkaganon. Im not against lee, she's also a good artist in her own but the point is you have to be fair and choose who will stand out one that PARTICULAR BATTLE. Ni hindi mo nga maintindihan ang song dahil prang kinakain nya mga sinasabe nya. You even coached Lee during the rehearsal na you can still hear and see the "Anak" voice and aura in her. Lagi na lang nabibigyan si Lee Grane ng 2nd chance. 1st sa BA, hindi naman sya mapapansin kung hindi nya kinanta yung 2nd song nya. Then dito naman sa BR, talong-talo sya ni Dan but still Bamboo chose her over him. And kung gusto lang din naman pala ni Bamboo na i-angat si Lee dapat pinalaban nya na lang sa mahina sa team nya like Deb or pumili ng song na nasa genre ni Lee. Bamboo has the nerve to ask for respect when he himself did not respect the fact that Dan won the battle fair and square. And he's only talking about Lee's story to tell but how about Dan's story?

wrong choice of song. it could have been a better battle if both sang a song na nasa common ground nila. obviously people will think dan was better cause most of the parts were performed by him. but what if it was another song where both lee and dan can shine?
Ewan ko sayo Bamboo! Care ko sa story to tell ni Lee, kaya nga tinawag na THE VOICE yong show dahil ang boses ang labanan hindi ang STORY ng buhay mo, hindi yan MMK dear. Ang dapat mananalo sa show nyo ay kayang bumanat kahit anong genre pa ang ibigay mo sa kanya hindi yong kung anong kaya nya lang ibigay sayo, sinasabi mong artist c Lee e di naman kayang magpaka artist ok lang sana if she put up a good fight to Dan kaso waley talaga!as in waley na waley c Lee nilamon siya ni Dan.
Sana sa susunod na pair mo ay talent na ang babasehan mo at hindi kung ano man story or whatever your reasons are, mawawala ang konsepto ng show nyo dahil sayo!
Only few artists can only sing in different genres. Hindi ibig sabihin na may boses ka at magaling umabot ng mataas tono okay kana for anything. Different genres have different ways of techiniques. Most flexible singers can only sing in two or three types at a time. Because keep changing vocal techiniques in short period. Could severely damage their vocal chords even if they're doing it properly. Flexiblity comes in time and maturity.
~The song choice doesn`t suite them. Their voices don't compliment each other. The guy sang better but won`t last. We`ve seen loads of singers with similiarities. Uggh enough -_- (it's hard to explain).
Di ko pinapanood ito sa tv kahit yung naging auditions nila. But after watching the youtube upload, dun ako sa lalake, panay murmurs walang maintindihan dun sa kanta ng babae.
Clearly, Dan won this battle and even Bamboo admittted in his statement. He chose Lee for strategic and sentimental reasons, he clearly knows she has a following and he can empathize with the singer/songwriter struggles. That being said it is unfair to Dan, if its not about the "actual battle" then, Bamboo should've said so. In short, pinagod mo pa yung tao e made up na pala yung mind mo even before the battle. I understand that Lee has something to say then, she should fight for that spot. Fight for the right to be heard. In this battle she really didn't even try. Disappointed in her, disappointed in the choices. I live in LA and is an avid fan of The Voice, coaches whose decisions to save a contestant based on a sentiment and not on performance usually experience backlash... Viewers tend to not vote for people who are perceived to be a favorite or unfairly retained by coaches. Let's see what happens with Lee.

Un ang best battle, pinakita ni sarah na magaling talaga ung dalawa. Although mas magaling si morisette, nabigyan ng respect si lecelle by also giving her a chance to prove herself. Tanggap ko na nanalo si morisette kasi lamang sya ng konting-konti.

Kumbaga sa studies kahit anong galing mo nung grade 1, pagdating sa grade 2 ay kailangan mo pa ring mag-aral ng mabuti dahil hindi ike-credit ang grades mo before. Kung ganon lang din ang basis sana hindi na lang nagbattle rounds. Sayang kuryente ng ABSCBN at effort ng artists.

His explaination just confirms his favoritism. Admitting Lee LOST the battle but chose her. Dan who really WON didn't get his chance to compete because Bamboo chose to give Lee a second CHANCE. He should not explain his side, mas lalo lang nakita favoritism sa kanya.

Hindi komo naging mas magaling lang yung isa at that point, forever hopeless na yung isang less magaling. The Coach has "seen through" each of them and knows what they are capable of achieving in the long term. He chose Lee over Dan because he knows Lee can deliver more than Dan after thorough and careful polishing.

Been disappointed with a lot of bamboo's choices na parang pretty but lacks the raw talent. Lee seemed to be a great find. But during the battles, Dan stood out. Gut instinct pinairal ni Bamboo instead of technicality. Sana lang di na nya pinagbattle and pushed lee to the next round kasi nasayang effort ni Dan.

DeleteI was disappointed too because Dan clearly won that night. It's called The Battle for a reason - that they are to be judged on that performance. It's so unfair that Bamboo just let Lee won because he knows that she has potential. I was really rooting for him as the best coach. But now? Meh.

DeleteI was actually rooting for lee since the blinds. But hate to admit, after the battle, its really Dan who won it. Lee is a crowd fave so if bamboo chose Dan then i would honestly had more respect for him in terms being able to make the hard decisions & being fair. Sure he challenged her with the song, but seemed she didnt overcome it.. and would be unfair to say it wasnt a challenge to Dan so he had it easy.. Even if, dan should not be penalized for being GIVEN an 'easy' song to sing. Guess its still personality/background based since Lee "had a story to tell". Then why go through the battles at all? Seems like a done deal then since dan "didnt have the story". Just thought boses ang labanan. The voice not the story. Hope the other coaches keep the show's awesomeness just how it started.

Lee is really good, i would vote for dan hearing that battle round but i had heard lee sang in her blind audi and i am sure that here voice could land on the top 5, APL also made a wrong pairing, both were good but it was a definite lost for lorenzanas, leah and sarah provided us with a BATTLE, honestly both pairings are hard to judge, they provided could equal each other.
DeleteTHOUGH, i also agree with bamboo that he wanted to squeeze something out of lee, the arrangement for her exposes a different side of her voice which is not her and and doesn't even suit her.
The battle winner should be chosen based on the current performance and not on future and past performances. The fact that she did not do well only showed she isn't THE VOICE.

Big mistake for Bamboo to choose a song that was totally unsuitable for Lee. Showed her weakness. Hope he chooses better songs next time. And the reason why he chose Lee over Dan makes me conclude that anyone up against Lee will just lose. It was just unfortunate that Dan was it. So disappointed with Bamboo.

Kasi dapat simula pa lang tama na agad ang ginagawa mo, hindi pwedeng trial and error dahil pwedeng once a lifetime lang ang chance ng artist. Kawawa ang mga members. Well, tapos na pangyayari, hindi na din makakabalik si Dan, unless baliin ng ABS ang rules. But I heard madami may ganitong incident s ibang team.

Pero kung pumalpak pa din si Lee sa 2nd round tapos siya pa din pinili ni Bamboo, e magtataka na ako nun. Pero hula ko dyan, yamado si Lee sa 2nd round, I think Bamboo will make the necessary adjustments in favor of Lee G. so he could justify his previous decision.

So from that, I think no matter how awesome Dan's performance would have been or how worse Lee's performance could have been on that battle, I think you will still choose Lee. And please, dont remind us that youre the only coach that turned for Dan. I know you watch Voice US and I know some coaches have to turn for some mediocre contestants so that theyll be the sacrifice for your favorite contestant. We're smarter than you think!
ReplyDeletethese controversies also happens in other voice franchise. the battle round is the coaches' discretion so it's their strategy if they think that one particular singer will have a better chance in going all-the-way through the live shows. watch the US/UK version, they have far more worst decisions than this one of Bamboo's.

DeleteI knew it. This guy is just so overrated as coach. Lee and Dan's battle was good, and Dan clearly won that fight. The battle between Morisette and Lecelle was impressive. They complement each other very well. The Lorenzanas VS Tristan wasn't much an attention getter. Mitoy and Chien's battle wasn't a battle at all. Mitoy clearly stole the moment leaving Chien far behind. As for the other coaches, they all did well, especially Lea Salonga as she we was consistent on being a front runner among the coaches. And in all fairness, I find Sarah a revelation in the show. A lot of people underestimated her as coach for being young but the girl actually did good for her first battle. Maybe, we were just too harsh on her for sitting on that red chair at a young age.

ReplyDeletemy thought on this naman is that bamboo is obviously looking beyond BR for lee, he obviously has a "plan" for her, clearly he experimented on lee at the expense of Dan..he wanted to push lee, too see more what she can offer, to perform a song not her genre..sadly lee failed to deliver, that whole BR was all about seeing more of lee...and not about lee and Dan..with what happened kasi na obvious yung favoritism..if bamboo believe in lee so much he could have paired her with a "weaker" artist, that way kung pipiliin niya si lee it won't create a fuzz, but he didn't..he chose to experiment on lee..and failed, on the other hand pwede ring strategy , as i said bamboo is looking beyond the battles for lee b/n lee and dan mas ma-mamarket mo si lee coz may hype na siya during the blinds may fans na eh, too bad lang talaga for Dan..he came out as a dispensable one albeit the better performance.

ReplyDeleteFor me, kahit anong song ang ibigay sayo, mapa-rap, rock, ballad, pop or broadway song if nakanta ka, makakanta yun. Yung genre naman na binigay sa kanila is malapit sa genre ni Lee. Lalo pa at The Voice yan, makakacollaborate talaga silang lahat even popular artists. Hindi lang basta audition piece or isang kanta lang isang episode sila magpeperform. Hindi lang talaga siya ganon kaflexible. After his statement above, he corrected readers interpretation about "STORY", he said story means song writing, her craft sa music. Uhm? Huh? Dapat sa Pinoy Pop Love Song Ek-ek na lang pala siya dapat sinali yung iyon ang magiging basis niya.

ReplyDeleteSeriously, while reading this thread, i find his name "BAMBOO" so sexy. Kapag nagkaanak ako gusto ko parang ganyan ang name. Haha. But regarding this issue, i feel sad for Dan. Okay lang matalo sa laban kung alam mo sa sarili mo na talo ka talaga. Pero kung lumaban ka ng patas at nakita mong mas nag-excel ka naman sa kalaban mo tapos talo ka pa rin ay ibang usapan na yun. Kung sa basketball, bugbugan na yun. The pairing itself, alam na alam mo na agad kung sinong mas madaling i-let go but poor Bamboo hindi napangatawanan ni Lee at si Dan naman ay umangat ng sobra.

To Bamboo please, judge according to the performance during the battle. Past or future history of the performers is not included in the criteria, judging must be based on the voice that is why it's called the voice. It's fo madam charo santos to judge if the performers has a good story to be featured in MMK and not yours. Pls focus on the VOICE.

Ni hindi mo nga maintindihan ang song dahil prang kinakain nya mga sinasabe nya. You even coached Lee during the rehearsal na you can still hear and see the "Anak" voice and aura in her. Then dito naman sa BR, talong-talo sya ni Dan but still Bamboo chose her over him. And kung gusto lang din naman pala ni Bamboo na i-angat si Lee dapat pinalaban nya na lang sa mahina sa team nya like Deb or pumili ng song na nasa genre ni Lee. ReplyDeletehay naku bamboo wrong decision, if ever makabalik si Dan baka sya pa ang manalo, sabi na nga ni joey ayala na si Dan ang nanalo sa BR but you still choose your fave.unfair lang talaga for anyone na makakatapat ni Lee.
ReplyDeletePara saan pa ung Battle rounds if you choose based on story rather than performance? Para saan pa ung the whole concept ng The Voice kung magiging American Idol rin pala ang mga judges after the blind auditions?! Honestly. You want respect? Respect the viewers din. CLEAARLY Lee Grane lost that Battle. Period.
ReplyDeletewrong choice of song. it could have been a better battle if both sang a song na nasa common ground nila. obviously people will think dan was better cause most of the parts were performed by him. but what if it was another song where both lee and dan can shine?
ReplyDeleteLee is one of my favorites but I have to admit that Dan is the clear winner of that battle.

Ewan ko sayo Bamboo! Care ko sa story to tell ni Lee, kaya nga tinawag na THE VOICE yong show dahil ang boses ang labanan hindi ang STORY ng buhay mo, hindi yan MMK dear. Ang dapat mananalo sa show nyo ay kayang bumanat kahit anong genre pa ang ibigay mo sa kanya hindi yong kung anong kaya nya lang ibigay sayo, sinasabi mong artist c Lee e di naman kayang magpaka artist ok lang sana if she put up a good fight to Dan kaso waley talaga!as in waley na waley c Lee nilamon siya ni Dan.
ReplyDeleteSana sa susunod na pair mo ay talent na ang babasehan mo at hindi kung ano man story or whatever your reasons are, mawawala ang konsepto ng show nyo dahil sayo!

ReplyDeleteOnly few artists can only sing in different genres. Hindi ibig sabihin na may boses ka at magaling umabot ng mataas tono okay kana for anything. Different genres have different ways of techiniques. Most flexible singers can only sing in two or three types at a time. Because keep changing vocal techiniques in short period. Could severely damage their vocal chords even if they're doing it properly. Flexiblity comes in time and maturity.
ReplyDelete~The song choice doesn`t suite them. Their voices don't compliment each other. The guy sang better but won`t last. We`ve seen loads of singers with similiarities. Uggh enough -_- (it's hard to explain).
I don't watch the Voice, but I have to say that Judges are people, that is why favouritism can't be avoided.
ReplyDeleteDi ko pinapanood ito sa tv kahit yung naging auditions nila. But after watching the youtube upload, dun ako sa lalake, panay murmurs walang maintindihan dun sa kanta ng babae.
ReplyDeleteClearly, Dan won this battle and even Bamboo admittted in his statement. He chose Lee for strategic and sentimental reasons, he clearly knows she has a following and he can empathize with the singer/songwriter struggles. That being said it is unfair to Dan, if its not about the "actual battle" then, Bamboo should've said so. In short, pinagod mo pa yung tao e made up na pala yung mind mo even before the battle. I understand that Lee has something to say then, she should fight for that spot. Fight for the right to be heard. In this battle she really didn't even try. Disappointed in her, disappointed in the choices. I live in LA and is an avid fan of The Voice, coaches whose decisions to save a contestant based on a sentiment and not on performance usually experience backlash... Viewers tend to not vote for people who are perceived to be a favorite or unfairly retained by coaches. Let's see what happens with Lee.

ReplyDeleteGrabe naman si bamboo, obvious na mas magaling si dan. Nasayang TFC fee ko. Buti na lang na-save ng ultimate battle nina morisette at lecelle. Un ang best battle, pinakita ni sarah na magaling talaga ung dalawa. Although mas magaling si morisette, nabigyan ng respect si lecelle by also giving her a chance to prove herself. Tanggap ko na nanalo si morisette kasi lamang sya ng konting-konti.
