The working relationship of the production people of a new show towards one of their talents (OT) is far from ideal. OT has mood swings and doesn't hesitate to show them to anyone. But the other side of these mood swings manifests once she is already with the rest of the talents of the show who are more senior than her. As if on cue, she becomes approachable, pleasant and smiling. Of course this attitude does not sit well with the staff.
Many notice that this once shy and meek girl who won as runner-up in this network's talent search years ago, has now suddenly become swell-headed. The big change could probably be her status, having been a big international star at some point in her young career.
Perhaps, this little, big girl should realize that with fame comes responsibility. As Oprah herself said, " If you come to fame not understanding who you are, it will define who you are."

I think nakaapekto ang pgging international artist nya cguro dahil iba ung culture sa US mejo nagkaroon ng skmething sa gender nya, baka nalito sya, at the same time narealize nyang bet nya ang gurls kesa boys. DeleteIm not a fan of little Ms. Sunshine. But I live here in the US. For a filipino who had movies and hit songs here, I would say that is a BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT. Even the anbisyosa wont even match that. Hence, sunshine is A BIG STAR. It's not easy to get into Hollywood. She deserves to be respected. Nakakasad lang sa most ng mga Pinoys coz nde nila naappreciate un. kaya sikat ang culture natin sa "crab" mentality. Instead of acknowledging her on how she gave pride to our country.. nde pa sya sinuportahan. With her english accent? it's not bad. U have to think pag nasa hollywood ka, pati speech therapist kasama don and she was young.. so most likely, nakuha agad nya accent. At least nde kadiri mag english. Ung ibang Pnoys nga napaka-magcorrect ng english.. Ung accent nmn ang tigas. If filipino english accent was spoken here, un ang pinagttwanan discreetly. #justsayin.
ReplyDeleteuna sa lahat, fan ako ng singing nya. hindi lang ako fan ng faux personality na pinapakita nya. at, nakatungtong lang ng US saglit, biglang sobrang feeling na. at ngayon nag-image change pa. yung mga borderline fans nya before biglang naging mga laitero. at excuse me, hindi exclusive filipino trait ang manlait ng laos. manood ka lang ng TMZ saglit at pag na-bring up ang isang laos nang US star eh ginagawa pa nilang katatawanan. yes, we're proud of charice, pero naiinis kami dahil nakikita namin ang paglaki ng ulo nya. hindi porke't may na-achieve eh pwede nang biglang sasama ugali. hindi porke't "superstar" na eh kailangang superstar din ang attitude.

Lea Salonga or even those part Pinoy actors in Hollywood do not act as superfluously as this little girl does (or if some of them do, that's even beside the point). Perhaps she needs someone to tell her that just because she had accomplished things in the international scene should not mean that she has to put up an attitude. I just hope she's reading all these comments and would take note, for her own sake. It's not crab mentality. In essence, no one else could actually pull her down other than her own self.

You said it perfectly. It is unbelievable how bitter, jealous, ignorant and crabby the people of this country are, especially the women. She shows enthusiasm in her judging and some people call that mayabang or OA. I don't get that reasoning at all. She is very talented and she gained confidence as she got older and numerous performances abroad. That is natural and there is nothing wrong with that at all. There is nothing wrong with her accent and she peaks very good English considering that she had to learn it fast. People forget that when she was abroad all her interactions with people were in English.

Si Lea nga, ang galing nang mag-Ingles nag-adjust pa rin for the British audience. At inamin ni Pyramid na tinuturuan siya ni David Foster sa tamang pag-pronounce ng words para maging neutral ang accent pag kumakanta. At saka some people pick up other accents more naturally. Yung mga pumupuna, mga di nakaranas mag-stay sa ibang bansa ng matagal. Since 2008 pa po si Pyramid sa U.S.

ReplyDeleteGive her a break, people go through bad days, mood swings normal yan. Wag ihighlight ang negatibo, Charice did her part of giving our country so much pride and we should be thankful of that.
And she's still young, nakakaconfuse naman talaga yang stage na yan. I wasn't so perfect also when I was 17 or 18 and I had my fair share of being moody, hard headed and of course, identity crisis.
Sa english accent niya, wala namang problema dun, syempre naadapt na nya yun in the US. Parang mga call center agent lang when you get to speak with foreigners all the time naadapt mo din accent nila in some ways.
Basta sakin more power na lang kay ateng at kung ano man ang bet nya sa buhay, boylaloo man o girl, she's worth supporting.

Even Hollywood actors and celebrities are remaining their feet on the ground. Hello? Rachel Weisz and Jeremy Renner spent more than a month filming the THE BOURNE LEGACY movie in Manila, but never did you hear them act pa-diva.
She should learn the late Dolphy's humility so that she can achieve staying power in the industry.
