Since the members of the production team of this certain reality show were ignorant of the approaching storm, they decided to go ahead with the shoot in spite of the poor weather condition. They blindfolded a few of the contestants and assigned them to one of the boats.
While the contestants were aboard the boat, waiting for it to take them to another island, it suddenly capsized and broke apart because of the wind and rain. The scariest part was that there were no other boat in sight and there was no one else to rescue the contestants.
The horrified contestants were left on their own to swim for their lives. They had to do everything possible to swim to the shore that was rather far away. It was very obvious that there was a lapse on the part of the production team and the safety of the contestants was compromised.
After this ordeal, the contestants who almost drowned to death were traumatized. The contestants in the other groups were also shocked when they learned about this. Many of them were seriously contemplating on leaving the show after the life threatening accident.

uy ha, even naman the "imported" versions of this show would never dream of doing real harm to their contestants albeit the show being called "Out-Everything"..even if artistas ang kasali, 11/3, 12:59, tao rin naman sila and they signed up for this naman na alam nilang safe sila and there will be no real threat to life or limb. grabe ka naman to insinuate na "inarte" lang lahat yon. kung ikaw kaya andun, let's see if you'd like it.

I agree with Anon 1:15 AM. Gosh, Anon 12:59, you're quite harsh! You can't expect anyone, even contestants from shows like that, to survive swimming in open waters with huge waves, and possibly with sharks. I don't think even Olympic swimmers would be totally safe from that! Kaloka nga naman talaga.

ReplyDeleteIf anything happened to anyone of those contestants, what a PR nightmare and I hope may insurance sila! Pag ganun dapat aware palagi and production crew sa mga bagay tulad ng weather, ng peace-and-order situation, etc. If I were there (naks feeling artista), I would contemplate leaving the show as well, this was a big blunder for the production crew. I think a few minutes of fame is not worth putting my life in danger... but that's just me.
ReplyDeleteThis is a US show franchise, so I'm surprised how reckless the staff were. In the US show, safety is paramount with experts testing and watching various challenges. The contestants are subjected to challenges but far from losing their lives. This can only happen in Pinas where lives are cheap.
ReplyDeleteI have watching US survivor for 10 years mula survivor 1 hangang ngayun survivor 23. Nakaka break ng heart kung paano nabago ng Philippine version yung puso ng Survivor. Ang pinaka maayos na nagawa nila ay yung pangalawang season nila.
ReplyDeleteSiguro binago na lang talaga nila para umayon sa taste ng mga viewers na pinoy kaso iba talaga parang tumatagal tinutulad na nila sa Big brother.
Hanga ako sa production ng ibang bansa kasi pinag isipan nila kung anu ang tunay na dahilan ng bawat game at challenge na pinapasok nila. Calculated din nila kung kailan ipapasok ang switch at merge. At higit sa lahat marunong yung host. MAINGAT sa mga sinasabi kasi alam niyang maaring makaapekto siya kung paano boboto ang mga contestant.

ReplyDeleteHi, g'morn, peeps, just joining in now, been reading the comments, most are beautifully written, with emphasis on SAFETY of everyone concerned! But sad to say & this is a fact, most Philippine TV productions are so poorly done (tinitipid ang budget), the host/s arrive on the set hardly prepared to work (never even read or reviewed their script) and worse, production people don't know their job descriptions (most of them were hired because they are relatives, classmates or barkada of prod / management people), so what kind of output should we expect? It's sad...love, lady boy!

una po sa lahat, gaano naman kalakas ang zoom ng camera? kung abot ng zoom ang mga contestants, then the boat must not be that far from the prod team. secondly, even if the crew were THAT far from the boat, they still would have seen what's happening to the boat, thus compelling them to do something.
for now, i'm not still convinced about this, especially that none of the contestants have said anything about the incident. if this TRULY happened, malamang may MAGDEMANDA di ba? malaking issue ito, at surely malaking PERA kung magdedemanda sila. but then, as it is, WALA namang ganoon until now. if any of them quits, that's hardly new. lagi namang may nagqu-qut, even dun sa secured na bahay ni kuya di ba?
i can't believe they can be so reckless like that! And it hasn't reach the local news yet. let's wait and see na lang sa paglabas ng show na ito.

ReplyDeleteThe production and network are just way too reckless....this happened yata during one of the Typhoons a few weeks ago that passed thru Palawan....In fact, even Ricky LO mentioned in his column that they too had an accident when they covered the junket for this show....puro celebs yata ito.

kasi nga hindi na live. taped na nga di ba? kaya nakikita mo na sila around, while the show is still running. nasa contract na lang na they won't talk about the show with anyone kahit sa family nila while ongoing pa ang mga episodes.

ReplyDeleteQue Horror Kapuso!!! Safety should and will always be the number one priority of these reality shows. Regardless of all the waivers they have signedm it doesn't mean you can already be complacent. This type of show is always a train wreck waiting to happen so you ALWAYS have to be prepared and have back up plans.
Gaga, pag-airing na ang show, tapos na nila ishoot ung buong season at alam na kung sino winner. Kaya malamang nkita mo na sila sa labas...

ang tanga ng comment na to walang common sense.. wag magcomment kung hindi alam ang mechanics ng game... im a huge fan of survivor especially the US series... this is what you call fighting the elements and its part of the game... wag kang sasali ng game if u dont know how to swim!!! kaya nga survivor eh.. bwiset lang mga judgmental na comments..

mga kapamilya talaga oh tumira na naman kayo eh itong mga kapamilya kaya ang daming pinatay ng show nyo dating wowowee nakalimutan nyo na ata. and the show tell it all. ano nga ang title ng show na ito. its all about surviving in an island. pasalamat na lang tayo at walang namatay sa insidente.

ReplyDeleteFact: walang reality show na real timeline ang pinapakita. meaning, hindi lahat pinapakita in chronological order. they edit it para may kwento kahit hindi sunod sunod ang pangyayari. kaya i think mas ok ang show na ito kesa sa big brother. i remember how big bro showed almost puro si melason lang kasi yun ang pumatok sa audience. kaya lang with this issue, fail much ang prod team. imposible na walang crew sa paligid. baka sila din napahamak with the artists. paano kaya nila ito ipapakita or kung ipapakita nga nila ito.
