Don't Bite the Hands that Feed You

The attendance during this brand’s fashion show last week was just so overwhelming that some of the big bosses had to assist in the registration and the seating of the guests. When the show was about to start, one of the bosses noticed the late arrival of this certain team. Since almost all of the seats in the front row seats were already given to the guests of the shareholders, this boss quickly approached this team, apologized and requested for a few extra minutes for his staff to add seats in the front row.

Instead of appreciating the gracious effort of this boss, the leader of the team ordered the team members to ditch the show. They walked away from the venue leaving the boss speechless and humiliated.

After the show, the boss called for a post-mortem ordering the withdrawal of their brand’s support from the company of this team who snubbed their show. It was just so ignorant for this team to insult the boss who happened to be the signatory of all the brand’s advertising placements.

  1. Is the brand P? It was so well attended. Daming tao nga! I was there. Great show.

  2. OMG is this the team that often occupy the front row seats in PhilFashionWeek shows? Team P?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Another team that occupies the front row is Team M?

    ReplyDelete
  4. P or M. Let's just wait if Company P will really pullout ads on their next issues..

    ReplyDelete
  5. If you're referring to P's Fashion Show last week, then I think it's Team M. I was there and I saw Team P in full force with their EIC in the front row.

    ReplyDelete
  6. IMO, Company P has to wait for contract with either P or M to expire before cancelling all ads placements.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Baka may ibang team pa.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes, the team can be a magazine, a newspaper, a tv show, etc. I agree with Anonymous 2:21 =)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Not really. Ad placements, say for magazines, are plotted for a year. Booking confirmation and submission of material are done a few months (around 2) per issue. A brand can always pull out ads. It's the placement agency's bane how to go around the "promised" number of ads for the year, esp if the advertiser is powerful...

Is this team P? They're always full force that it's sometimes ridiculous.

  16. actually the brand's PR team were very rude and dismissive and i think forgot the importance of the support magazine gives. i was there, i saw those teams walk out and frankly they deserved better treatment because even we felt disrespected by the pr people who were power tripping the whole time. one even said "why is it such a big deal to get them front row seats?" to be honest, its not about being spoiled or nagmamaganda, its about the mutual support and respects magazine and brands should have because magazines help brands as much as brands help them.

    ReplyDelete
  17. hello. fashion week is specifically made for poeple that will promote and use the brands. these really are for magazine poeple. Brands should respect them too. aanhin ng mga bloggers, friends and family members, shareholders, ang mga pictures at ang mga damit? bibilhin? i doubt it. bloggers may write about it but magazines are sold to hundreds of thousands of people in the country who read them and are influenced by them and see the brand's clothes styled to look better, they deserved better treatment.

  18. Brand? P or B?

    Team? Is it a Magazine?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Nakita ko ang Team M sa P show, andun sila lahat with their EIC.

    ReplyDelete
  21. OMG Wala akong nagets! I'm stumped

  22. kudos to the boss who steered this company into the fine brand that it is now. the guy is one fine gentleman. but as for the arrogant team M ....... serves you right biatches. you got your just desserts. you and your over inflated pompous images of yourselves. wait till the magazine's owner gets wind of this fiasco. hold on to your heads. i see them being lopped off. : )

  23. hi! i'm a fan of your blog and really enjoy reading through it. just a question though, are you sure your pageview counter is correct? it seems to add 1 every 5 seconds?

    anyway, keep writing! =)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Alam kaya ni Boss (Mr. T or Ms. L?) that the behavior ng editorial team niya is gonna cost them money? Ang mahal naman ng ego na iyan.

    ReplyDelete
  25. bilihan ng ballpen ang nagshow noon. pero nakita ko naman ang mall sa ortigas noon. medyo late na nga sila noon. pero nakaupo naman sila at they were very cooperative.

    so baka yung mga trailers?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Dear Anonymous 5:32,
I cannot touch the pageview counter. It is a built in feature of blogspot. =) The counter of my friend's blog: http://www.mykiru.blogspot.com moves every second. Of course, he has way more readers than I do. FP's stats is nothing compared to his. =)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oo nga, it adds one every five seconds. Seems abnormal to me. Please check it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think it is normal because I get more than 20t pageviews within 24 hours. Sad naman ako if it is not accurate. =)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Actually NO SHOW si former manager/lover ni model/athlete sa fashion week event na ito - out of the country. Sayang inabangan namin siya.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh well, maybe your site is just very popular.:)

Great blind items, by the way.

    ReplyDelete
  31. there's nothing wrong with the counter as it's tracking page views and not unique visitors. so for example, me, i visit this site and i click on ten pages, the ten pages views are counted and displayed on the side.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh my, pati pageviews ba intrigahin? FP, baka ma blind item ka nyan LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Actually, almost every 3 seconds!! Congrats FP, you're so popular, makakabog mo na yata ang blog na puro binili ang laman

    ReplyDelete
  34. andayaaa.. wla ako magets sa clues.. :( why o why?!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ay wag mo pansinin yan fp! Inggit lang yan! For all we know, blogger din yan na naagawan mo na ng readers!

    ReplyDelete
  36. It wasn't Team M who walked out, but team P.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Haha parang orasan lang yung counter! Good job, FP!

Team M ba or Team P?! Confused!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I sat beside Team M during the P show, so it's definitely Team P that ditched the show

    ReplyDelete
  39. To Anonymous 5:11, why call us biatches? We were there in full force, without any complaints. We all wanted to watch and support brand P, so we didn't care that all 8 of us squeezed in 5 seats. Kindly get your facts straight first before posting careless comments.--CCP, managing editor of Team M

  40. I won't be surprised if it's team p...they need to be reminded because most of them are super feeling already..there are still some of them who keep their toes on the ground though, but ilan nalang ang natira....TEAM P: you won't be on top always...may Laban na ang dalawang TEAM M sa inyo...because they keep on improving...just check on their recent issues. Talo na kayo.

  41. The issue here is not who or how they were treated. It is the fact that they were really unprofessionally LATE. It is one of the bigger shows in PFW and you don't expect the seats to be waiting for you if you don't come in on time.

  43. Kung sa magazine lang, I still prefer P. Kahit nakakahilo yung bagong layout nila, it's still better than the two Ms by far. Feroshh!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ayyy Pinatulan talaga ng team M young issue? How classy. May profile talaga?

    ReplyDelete

    -- I AGREE! CHEAPANGGA!

Mukha ngang mas tarush ang Team P.

But if I want fashion and beauty input from "regular" more "accessible" girls (na minsan questionable ang style) eh 'di hihingi nalang ako ng advice sa kapitbahay ko. Bakit pa ko bibili ng magazine?

    Tarush for the win!

Angela Alarcon of the shades indoors fame looks like she should be in P. Not M.

In fairness, P's articles are BETTER written. By far!

I agree with Anonymous May 18, 2011 5:11 PM. M's self promotion is tacky. Wala bang nagpipigil sa kanila from putting their pics in the magazine? Ewww!

  50. Dear Lacar P., no matter how you try (and fail) you will never belong in the fashion industry. You're too tacky.

    ReplyDelete
  51. How crass naman the new crop of magazine people. They watched The Devil Wears Prada (or read, but that would be expecting too much) one too many times. Nakakamiss tuloy the old batch of editors (Thelma San Juan, Sari Yap, and of course, Myrza) who at least knew better.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The invitation said 6:30 for cocktails and 7:30 for the show but before 7, all the VIP/media seats were already taken. Media ba talaga kayo or the so-called bloggers, a title anyone doing social networking can claim? Media people should have a different invitation too to avoid this from happening. Ang mga tao rin kahit nakalagay reserved for a media outfit, hindi nirerespeto.

I liked the way the previous shows were handled. Media and VIPs were taken to another room where cocktails were served and to later to the show venue thru another entrance. But to their credit the company bigwigs did really try their best during the event.

Media people, be humble! Yes, you help the brand, but don't expect VIP seats when you arrive too late.

The comments of CCP, Team M's ME makes it seem like an admission that they were the ones who felt slighted, therefore the ones that walked out? I don't agree with the drama. You may be holding the power in media but clients hold the advertising budget. Talo lahat.

She was brave enough to put her real name on her comment. O eh, ano naman masama dun? She didn't say anything bad. Hindi class yung nakikipagaway. Kaw talaga, evil gay ka.

I really find it funny that people have the temerity to talk bull's ass about Mega, Metro and Preview. You guys are not part of any of those magazines. Although, everyone is entitled to his or her ow opinions. If you prefer reading (kung nagbabasa ka talaga ha) Preview over Mega it's fine. People behind these magazines do not have time to spare. They don't fight with each other either. Ano ito, high school girl?

    At para naman kay Anonymous

Have you worked for a publication before? Girl, in fair, mahirap. It's not easy to run nor work for a magazine. Sometimes these people have to work overtime. They never intended to come late nor did they complain about their seats. So girl, relax ka lang diyan. Bawal ma-late teh? Deadline? Smile nalang sis. Kebs mo naman sa tardiness ng iba! Paganda ka nalang.

  55. Agree with SS. Some of them literally have to run (in their high heels, no less) from one show/building to another just to cover the events. Still, if they were late, things could have been handled more professionally on both ends of the businesses.

  60. Team M EIC's face is scary. Parang plastic. Over sa plastic surgery. In fairness, she's pretty now. Dati super chaka. Better fake pretty than authentic ugly, right?

    ReplyDelete
  61. P of Team P is a consummate professional.

As for S of Team M, super daming horror stories na ang narinig ko about her. She's NOT nice.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Dear SS,

You're right, most of the people commenting here are not part of any of those mags you mentioned. We are speaking as readers. Doesn't that mean our comments have more weight? After all, you make the magazines for us, the public, not for your staff or for your competition. And of course the staff represents the magazine so they are fair game too.

Sorry naman kung na-hurt ka kasi harsh ang ibang nababasa mo dito about Team M but critiques are just as, if not more, important than praises. It will help improve your magazine if you try to see past the bitchy-ness. Kasi may point naman talaga yung iba.

  63. Tss. Whether running in heels, doing overtime work attending events, or kahit ang pagpupull out ng tonetoneladang damit (especially @GB), yan naman ang gusto ng mga yan.

Hi girl! Ang formal mo naman. Na-shy ang pagka-evil gay ko. No I wasn't at all offended. And yes, constructive criticism is always good. I wasn't defending the magazine, I was merely trying to enlighten FP's readers why these people come late sometimes. Sino ba naman ang gustong na-lalate? Ako nga late ata everyday and I hate myself for it (pero late pa rin ako) It was unprofessional, yes, but these people had their reasons. Even the famous publicist Kelly Cutrone has bad days. We can't just accuse them of being pa-importante. As long as the criticisms are valid, go lang ng go! But comments like, "hitad kasi si bleep" or "plastic ang mukha ng EIC nila", girl, wow mali lang yun. But you know, no judgment :)

    ReplyDelete
Sayang trabaho.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sana mag palit na ng PR and PFW. I so hate their current PR agency. So rude! Especially their staff N, that sports a one length hair.

    ReplyDelete
  67. ito ba yung mga children of the corn?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  69. I like team P's individual fashion sense. Kahit na di ko ever susuotin outfits ni Daryl Chang kasi "normie" ako, I super admire her. I love looking at her. At naver naman katawa-tawa.

Pauline needs more make-up, honestly. She looks too "natural." Walang masama mag-kilay at mag eye-liner everyday! Other than that, she's always so chica naman.

As for the rest, I'd raid their closets any day. I wouldn't call any of them fashion victims.

Just because it's not one's style, it doesn't mean fashion victim. I'm all for being original and not looking like any one else.

If you pile on trends or wear trends na di naman bagay sayo, yun ang panget. No matter your style, may style ka man or wala, I think universal naman na play up your assets and not your flaws! Yung iba jan sa team M minsan talaga parang "anyareh jan?" Not all of them naman. Meron lang bad eggs.

    ReplyDelete
  70. to be original is not bad...... but overdoing it ...hmmmmm ibang usapan na yan. eh di sana pumunta na lang sila sa japan at makisama sa mga harajuku. yun ang itsura nila.
Am sorry but i watch fashion week abroad din at hindi naman ganun ang itsura ng mga tao na nanonood or trying make a fashion statement.
feeling A.W. If you are there to review designs di ba dapat malinaw ang salamin para makita mo detalye. hmmmmmm naggaganda gandahan kasi. feeling daming alam sa fashion. wala naman!!!
