Recovering a Career

As projects were getting scarce, Secretive Actress (SA) had to find means to sustain her lifestyle. The management was assessing the performance of talents and SA was among those talents who had to go on break, as her projects did not reach expectations. Gone were the days when she was the toast of the network. Unlike other contemporaries whose projects performed poorly, SA did not have a backer in management. Besides, with younger talents, one is just as good as his/her latest project.

SA contacted Competent Contact (CC) who has access to clients who have a well-deep stash of money. CC recommended SA to Opulent Businessman (OB), who had a special, risky request. OB wanted the act done without any protective device. As SA needed the money, she named a seven-digit figure. To the surprise of SA and CC, OB agreed to the whopping figure. SA said that she will take precaution during the intimate moment.

The location was set overseas and all arrangements were made. After which, SA got her fee and OB was happy. Months later, the timing was right, as SA was told she might have a project. That was indeed good news. However, SA realized that she had not gotten her period and after a few tests, realized she was pregnant. SA told CC, who, in turn, informed OB. OB was ecstatic at the possibility of having a child with SA. OB allegedly offered a very hefty amount for SA to carry their child. CC said that was not part of the deal and SA’s priority is her career. CC then told OB to send money so SA can do what she wants. OB did not want to ruin his client relationship with CC and gave the requested amount. SA went on another overseas trip to the west using the new funds send by OB and after a few weeks, she came back as though nothing happened. She was slim again with no worries of any bodily change happening soon.

Costly Venture

Prior to accepting her role in a drama series, Seasoned Actress (SA) was hesitant to accept the offer. So far, SA’s roles are significant to the story even if her characters have played support. Moreover, her projects are all scheduled during primetime. To convince SA, a Production Head (PH) presented to SA her fellow co-workers and she was impressed with the cast of veteran performers. However, she was doubtful if the younger cast could deliver. Nonetheless, the scale tipped in the favor of the series when SA’s friends convinced her to accept the villain’s role.

During the first days, SA was all praises for the team. The production quality was as good as a movie’s and everything was working well until her first scene with Dramatic Lead (DL). Expectedly, SA did her best and gave the acting the role called for. Then, she would pause and wonder why no one would cut the scene even if DL was acting below par. SA could sense the imbalance and felt she ought to do something. One time, SA attempted to coach DL. However, Major Head (MH) told her that she should not expect anything more from DL as far as acting skills are concerned. DL can only reach a certain level and no amount of motivation can make her go beyond. SA told MH that if DL does not shape up, Co-Actress (CA) would outshine her.

After a few weeks on air, SA realized the ratings were low and she aired her concerns to Production Insider (PI). PI replied that SA should not mind the ratings and just do her best. SA said her worries revolve around her reputation. She added that low ratings would affect her credibility and that of the rest of the cast. PI said that she should just chill and even revealed information from the network’s research.

According to the said research, DL and Her Partner (HP), viewers have gone wary of DL and HP. Unlike before, viewers are no longer interested in DL and HP. The gamble of the management to pair DL and HP did not generate the expected magic, which subsequently translated into the result of their current project. HP is even called ‘jinx’ behind his back, as all his projects have done poorly in rating and in the box-office. By contrast, when DL goes solo, her projects perform impressively. PI added that if the project continues to struggle with its ratings, management has instructed to cut it short so as not to affect the ratings of the programs that air after that time slot.

Misguided Counsel

The moment Rumored Lover (RL) learned that Sought-after Actor (SA) visited a former Co-worker (CW) at her home, countless thoughts entered her mind. The most glaring was, of course, the state of their relationship now that SA and CW met. RL knew that day would come, but confronting the moment was something she was not prepared to deal with.

However, the advantage of RL over CW is allegedly the physical intimacy she gives SA. That night, RL gave SA the performance of her life to ensure that he will not forget. After their passionate encounter, RL asked SA what transpired during the said visit. SA said that he was happy with the visit and he was very ecstatic with what he saw and felt. RL then ruined the moment by asking SA if he were sure that he saw his own. RL suggested a DNA test.

Allegedly, SA told a Close Staff (CS) about what RL said. CS fumed at what he heard and could not believe RL could be so callous. Having a DNA test would insult CW, who might subsequently decide to keep to herself if such a request would be relayed. Thus, SA could be devastated, as he would no longer be allowed to visit. Besides, CS cautioned that people might spread rumors that a DNA test has been taken given that SA and CW are high profile celebrities, and privacy, these days, is hard to keep.

CS was not yet done. He advised SA to stop listening to the advice of RL. They should just stick to their intimate encounters, if those physical moments are what SA wants from RL. She might even be a jinx to his career if he mulls over what she wants him to do. In addition, CS said that SA should not let RL meddle in his personal affairs. So, now, the ball is in the hands of SA as to whether he will make a choice between RL and CW, who currently has the advantage of having what RL does not have.

Think Creatively for Pleasure

The moment when Multitalented Celebrity (MC) met Skilled Actor (SA) at the set of the film they were making, she felt a tug in her heart. SA was tall, handsome, and talented. Regardless of the language difference, MC did her best to communicate with SA. The days they spent filming in a far-away location made them closer and when MC returned home, she was teased that she might have found love. Well, the teasing was on the right track because SA felt comfortable with MC, and thus, he showed her kindness and other qualities that could develop love.

After sometime, the public noticed the different sparkle in the eyes of MC and assumed the celebrity was indeed in love. When SA came over for vacation, MC made sure he felt the hospitality accorded to visitors. Moreover, given that SA is an actor, he was easily noticed by production teams. Taking advantage of the opportunity to work, SA made use of his time here. The time SA spent with MC, the deeper that their love developed.

When MC and SA admitted they were official, people were happy for them and wished the couple well. While others think that MC and SA are just a normal couple enjoying a second chance at love, others know of the secrets to their successful relationship.

Unlike the typical male, SA was not shy of his expectations when it comes to the confines of their bedroom. Lovemaking was not ordinary, every encounter had to be special. SA only has one request, and that is for MC to be in costume when they are making love. The characters MC have to play have no boundaries. MC could pretend to be a superhero, anime character, Barbie, etc. Other than wearing a costume, MC should also be in full make up to make the production value authentic. The various character portrayals excite SA, and thus, MC was assured of a high level of performance during their moments of intimacy.

While this add-on to their relationship is strengthening their bond, MC is sometimes stumped at thinking of which character to play next. Moreover, she has to spend money for her costumes. In addition, she has to hire a makeup expert to make her look as close to the character she wants to play. Whenever MC calls the expert and asks for full service, the expert knows that MC is up for another exciting night. Indeed, with the effort MC is exerting, she and SA are in for keeps.

Repost: Why Sarah Geronimo is Not Coming Back as Coach in 'The Voice Kids'

Sarah Geronimo is no longer coming back as a coach in the third season of “The Voice Kids.”

She revealed this on Monday during her contract signing with ABS-CBN, where she inked another two-year deal.

“Sasabihin ko lang na gusto ko lang pong bumalik sa ‘ASAP,’ talagang 'yung mag-concentrate naman sa growth ko bilang artist. Kasi I feel na bilang coach, parang lagi ko nga pong sinasabi na role-playing talaga 'yung pagiging coach. 'Yung para bang alam ko lahat, kapag nagbibigay ako ng opinion, para bang ang galing-galing ko. Medyo naghe-hesitate pa rin po ako doon,” she said.

Geronimo, however, hinted that she may possibly come back in the TV competition’s future seasons.

“Sobrang masaya naman talaga and fun 'yung experience, especially doing it with the kids. 'Yun talaga ang the best. Baka po next season, why not, kung gusto pa rin nila ako maging coach?” she said.

When asked what she wants to tell the young aspiring singers who dream of having her as a coach, Geronimo said: “Ang mga bata naman basta para sa pangarap nila, sasasabak sila. I’m 100% sure na magugustuhan po ng mga tao kung sino man po ang uupo sa red chair.”

Refusing to reveal who will be replacing her, Geronimo assured those who will audition that they will have fun and learn a lot from the new mentor.

Meanwhile, Geronimo thanked VIVA Artists Agency and ABS-CBN for understanding her decision regarding her career.

“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa ABS na talagang nandoon pa rin 'yung relationship, na gusto po nila akong manatili sa kumpanya po nila. And of course, sa manager ko na napaka-understanding at supportive sa mga naging decision ko sa career ko,” she said.

As to what her fans could expect in the coming months, Geronimo said: “Definitely po hindi ako magteteleserye kasi sobra po akong napapagod, 'yung boses ko. Hopefully po makakakuha ako ng pelikula na talagang mai-in love ako, mai-inspire akong gawin, hindi 'yung parang, ‘Sige, gawin natin para lang may pelikula ka.’”

Is the Darna role included in the projects she signed up for?

“Hindi eh. Hindi talaga po ako para doon. Pang-performance lang 'yung [nag-costume ako ng Wonder Woman sa ASAP],” she said.

Star Actor's Alleged “Drunk” Performance

Star actor (SA) was invited to perform in a corporate event. SA is the hottest young actor performer today. He has risen to such popularity that girls swoon over him, and companies want him to perform for their events. Those who can afford SA's services, paying hundreds of thousands for a few songs is worth it. His mere presence is a sure crowd drawer. SA is getting big breaks left and right: huge chunk of endorsements, tv projects, shows here and abroad - such achievements surpassing even those of his relatives'.

A top official TO of the company had a picture taken with SA during the said corporate event. SA was only too privileged for the opportunity as TO belongs to the top management of the company. TO then posted their photo on the social networking site. There were some comments, as expected. TO  reacted to a particular comment saying that SA was allegedly drunk when he performed before a crowd of 20,000.

Will the candid comment of TO go viral in a few days? Was SA really drunk? If so, how will SA's network and  management handle this situation? How far will they go to reverse the issue and do damage control again?

Will the hungry media bite? We'll see...

PMPC Reveals Special Award Winners and Star Awards for TV Nominees

Image courtesy of Facebook: Philippine Movie Press Club - PMPC

PMPC stages the 35th Star Awards for TV on January 28 at Winford Manila Hotel
In recent years, especially at the height of the pandemic, people depend on television for entertainment, news, education, culture, weather, sports — and what have you. Indeed, the boob tube is a powerful tool and is considered the main source of information for people, because it enables us to receive the latest news from all over the world.

Further, we also get entertained by it and get rid of boredom. Today, more than ever, various TV programs pose a significant influence on modern culture and become tools for sharing information, ideas, personal messages, and other content.

This is why the Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc. (PMPC), over the years, has become a staunch supporter of the men and women behind these TV programs by honoring them for the job well done.
This year, the 35th Star Awards for Television is set to happen on January 28, 2023 (Sat.), 6:00 pm, at Winford Manila Resort and Casino (Sta Cruz, Manila).

TV host-turned-politician Senator Raffy Tulfo and former actress Connie Angeles will lead this year’s honorees as recipients of the Excellence in Broadcasting Lifetime Achievement Award and the Ading Fernando Lifetime Achievement Award, respectively.

The veteran broadcast journalist, commentator and multi-media personality started out in 1993. His public service programs on radio, television, and YouTube were aired until his election as senator of the Philippines in the 2022 national election.

Meanwhile, Ms. Angeles started out as a child actress and metamorphosed into a public service host and eventually a public servant in the 1990s. Currently, she is the Senior Assistant Vice President and Executive Director for Health for SM Foundation, Inc.

Adding glitter to the night would be the presence of showbiz’s hottest tandems -- Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano and Kelvin Miranda and Mikee Quintos – who shall receive the German Moreno Power Tandem of the Year.

The 35th Star Awards edition is led by the newly elected PMPC President Fernan de Guzman and his team. On hand to support the PMPC for this exciting awards night is JAMSAP Entertainment Corporation led by Jojo Flores and Maricar Moina. Frank Lloyd Mamaril directs the show.

Perpetually Despised

Growing up from a showbiz clan and public personalities, one would surmise that snob actor SA has learned how to handle fame, and more importantly, being a relative newcomer in the industry-- how to keep it.

Certainly, being a celebrity is never easy. From giving it your best in every public performance, your all in every take, you also are expected to look perfect from every angle and be amiable towards people, most especially your supporters, the masses, the people who continuously help you stay at the top. Nevertheless, it is still a dream job for most if only for the fame and huge money in exchange for such little discomforts.

SA is apparently very oblivious to this logic. During a recent event in the province, people were very disappointed with him, who was as elusive as a panda - choosing to stay inside the comforts of the van he was riding in, feigning a headache when he was supposed to be on top of it for a motorcade. He didn't want to be bothered in his hotel room, and had also denied the media any interviews. The public officer in charge of the event was pulling his hair in frustration but SA remained indifferent.

Likewise, one insider in SA's weekly noontime show also was in absolute shock at having first-hand experience at SA's arrogance and seemingly rude behaviour. What's more appalling is that his mother has been very tolerant of his son's attitude.

It would be amazing to see the numbers of SA's legion of young fans drop. With his lenient mother and no sensible advisers in sight, who knows what the future brings to SA, who does nothing but live up to his overrated image.

"Fame is an illusive thing -- here today, gone tomorrow. The fickle, shallow mob raises its heroes to the pinnacle of approval today and hurls them into oblivion tomorrow at the slightest whim; cheers today, hisses tomorrow; utter forgetfulness in a few months." ~ Henry Miller

Actress is Ecstatic Over Actor’s Performance

Over the years, the station has created various events that added interest to their talents. Given that the actors and actresses in the network were often seen in their respective roles in their drama or comedy show, seeing them fabulously dressed and made up was such a welcome treat. The formal clothes added to the luster of the talents and added that touch of class. However, instead of just watching for fabulous gowns of actresses, some fans would wait for news of unexpected fights and behavior from the talents.

While everything seemed to move smoothly during in this year’s anticipated event, top executives were shocked to realize the tranquility was too good to be true. Unlike previous stagings of this event, only the controversial behavior of a talent almost ruined the success of the event. Organizers always want events to run smoothly, even after the staging, but the antics of Misbehaving Talent (MT) were not left unnoticed.

MT has a reputation for being honest in her words and in her deeds. Prior to making a name for acting in front of the cameras, MT has been known not to mince words. A spade is a spade, as far as she is concerned. Nothing is sugarcoated, and she will spew her opinion regardless of the person who might be affected. Moreover, MT does not hide her love for a drink or two, and this habit has always placed her in awkward situations. Intoxicated, expect her to be very honest.

During the said event, Top Executive (TE) was quite shocked to see MT hugging and touching most of the male stars like her action was the most natural thing to do in the formal event. Conservative as she was, TE found the behavior of MT unbecoming. Turning to Another Executive (AE), TE said to never invite MT again to that event.

Unknowingly, Dashing Actor (DA) was embarrassed. He felt sort of responsible as he was the date of MT. Worse, the guests noticed that MT left DA, as she started to move from one table to another. Then, MT disappeared and allegedly hooked up with Sullen Actor (SA). Since he started to shine, SA seemed to be one of the most sought after actors in the network. Thus, the opportunity to be with SA was not one that should be missed. Later, MT told Another Actress (AA) of her encounter with SA. She allegedly said that SA was such a satisfying and active partner, unlike DA. No wonder her social media had an interesting post in the days that followed.

‘I place a high moral value on the way people behave. I find it repellent to have a lot, and to behave with anything other than courtesy in the old sense of the word -- politeness of the heart, a gentleness of the spirit.’ Emma Thompson
