Weddings are usually planned a few months prior to the actual event to ensure the smooth flow. Measurements for the dresses and suits for the couple and wedding entourage are taken early to ensure ample time for sewing. Of course, the wedding venue and officiating persons have been confirmed and other suppliers, such as photographers, caterers, florists, etc. Everyone involved is expected to cooperate for the happy occasion.
With barely a few weeks of the rumored matrimonial ceremony of high-profile couple, word has it that An Elder (AE) has been giving the wedding planners a difficult time. While stories are out that AE and Her Partner (HP) are not keen on participating, the people behind the scenes are shocked to realize it for themselves. For example, AE has kept postponing the taking of measurements of her outfit, saying that she might gain weight. Even if the designer is saying that allowance will be set in the outfit, AE would still give excuses. Even if other members of the entourage have given their measurements, AE and HP are not at all cooperating and showing their irate side to the corresponding suppliers.
Then, AE and HP have yet to file the papers needed to join and witness the wedding. Visa applications would take time, and yet AE and HP are not in the rush. Allegedly, the video personnel could not even get AE or HP to sit and deliver a message for the couple. AE would say that she’s not comfortable in front of the camera, and she finds the whole video-messaging idea corny.
When Future Bride (FB) found out the drama of AE and HP, she decided to talk to her kin. AE was firm to show her dislike for the forthcoming event and obviously, for the Future Husband (FH). While FB has been pleading for AE to cooperate, she was not at all listening and instead, she was focused on reading documents. Later, the documents turned out to be the prenup and other papers that would allegedly place under her name everything that FB owns. AE said that she would only have peace of mind if FB turns over everything to her. Her goal is to ensure that FH will not get any assets of FB in case they separate in the future. FB, at that point, refused to sign, citing that her love for FH is immeasurable and having a prenup might offend him.
AE’s hatred for FH comes from her gut feeling. She hates the arrogance of FH and finds him disrespectful. She said that her negative impressions of the previous men involved with FB were all correct. Thus, she believes her impression of FH will be correct as well, that is, he’s no good for FB.
As the wedding date is coming, will FB sign the papers to appease AE and HP (but will she have a guarantee that they’ll attend her most anticipated event even after she signs?) or will she not (and risk AE and HP’s wrath for the rest of her life)?

Paulo Avelino Joins ‘Darna’

Besting many hopefuls, from unknowns to popular talents from the two major networks, ABS-CBN talent, Jane de Leon was awarded the coveted role. She joins the ranks of previous actresses who have played the role, such as Vilma Santos, Angel Locsin, and Marian Rivera.
After Darna has been confirmed, the search for other roles was the subject of fan speculations. According to sources, Darna’s leading man has been chosen. Paulo Avelino has been assigned to partner with de Leon in the movie. Avelino has worked with Tarog in ‘Heneral Luna’ and in his title role in ‘Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral’.
Incidentally, the role of Darna’s nemesis, Valentina, was allegedly offered to a popular ‘bida/kontrabida’ Kapamilya actress, who allegedly turned down the offer. Other celebrities rumored to be considered for the role of ‘Valentina’ are Ivana Alawi and even Pia Wurtzbach.

Getting Ahead

When Female Celebrity (FC) finally got engaged, Her Fiancé (HF) had done much preparation to ensure that the event would be memorable. As FC comes from a tight-knit family (TK), HF knew he had to get permission first from TK. When he spoke with TK, they were shocked and hesitant. However, Influential Member (IM) reminded them that FC and HF would eventually end up together.
IM has seen the sincerity in the intention of HF and was touched by his gestures and treatment of FC. Thus, IM vouched for HF for FC. However, TK’s concern was more of the financial situation of FC, who seems to have more savings and sources of income than HF. FC has been working hard in her career and TK was worried that once FC and HF marry, her assets would become conjugal property. Moreover, TK was bothered by the possibility that FC would no longer prioritize her work once she settles down with HF. After all, competition is tough in the field of FC and if she takes time off, other celebrities might eat up her market.
Despite all the concerns, TK has no choice but to talk to FC and HF separately and set the conditions for marriage. Predictably, TK wants a prenup to be signed and assurance they will not spend a single cent for the wedding, including the wedding dress of FC. HF assured TK that he is financially prepared to spend for their wedding and to give FC a comfortable married life. In addition, TK wanted all expenses be recorded in a ledger and reimbursements made of whatever they might have to spend on initially. HF said such was not a problem, as he was ready and had already anticipated the possible concerns of TK.
When HF’s camp learned of the conditions of TK, they could only shake their heads in disbelief. The demands of FC’s camp verified the rumors about the materialism of TK. HF’s camp could still not believe how TK could do such, but they have no choice but to support HF, as his heart has been won by FC.

Sing-Along Game Show to Replace GGV?

GGV has offered Sunday night viewers with interviews of local and international celebrities. ABS-CBN ang GMA artists have appeared and gamely answered the questions of Vice Ganda that ranged from professional to personal questions and love life. Even the K-pop female group, Momoland, has guested on the show and danced to Sarah Geronimo’s ‘Tala’ early this year.
With competition heating up for the time slot, the said show, ‘Everybody, Sing!’ will start to air in March.
