Bianca Gonzalez to Wed JC Intal in December

TV host Bianca Gonzalez and boyfriend of almost three years, cager JC Intal are getting married in December and have a house waiting for them once they settle down.

This, the couple revealed in an exclusive interview on Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday, April 20.

When JC told host Boy Abunda that they’re getting married in December, Bianca recalled that her reaction when she first heard her fiance’s plan was, “Why not? We’re not getting any younger.”

Love nest

Once they settle down, JC ready with his love nest for Bianca and their future family.

“Sobrang blessed ako kasi nandiyan na ang bahay bago mag-asawa, yung lilipatan namin,” JC said.

JC realized he wants to be with Bianca for the rest of his life after they had a lover’s quarrel.

Bianca recalls that day when she went to JC’s house and left in a huff.

Big fight

“We had a big fight. It was my fault. I came from work. Feeling ko, hindi ako pinapansin. Nag walk out ako. When I got home nag-away pa kami sa phone.”

This was why JC’s proposal at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 on March 20 came as big surprise for Bianca.

Bianca admitted she felt weird when she went past the first security check and the two guards on duty gave her a rose each. Bianca got two more roses when she reached the first x-ray area.

The clueless Bianca, used as she is to the ways of showbiz, asked her companion if she was in a gag show.

“Baby I Love Your Way”

An airport staff interrupted her thoughts and said, “Ma’m, you have to go out and verify a package if it’s part of your baggage.”

When she returned to the check-in counter, Bianca recalls how a girl gave her a tarpaulin while live performers sang her favorite love song, “Baby I Love Your Way.”

Two weeks before, JC asked Bianca what her favorite love song is, so when she heard "Baby I Love Your Way" at the airport, she sensed something was about to happen. True enough, when she rolled up the tarpaulin, she read, “Bianca, please say yes,” and JC was already kneeling before her.

When she turned around, all her friends were there with one flower each for her. Bianca couldn’t help but cry.

Out of character

“I was telling him (JC) sobrang out of character (ang nangyari). Sobrang quiet siyang tao. For him to come up with that and to arrange all that, it’s so overwhelming.”

Bianca feels extra lucky and grateful she is marrying a man who “treats me well.” She adds that there’s no formula in finding a guy who’s right for you.

“Never in my wildest dreams na inakala ko magiging deserving ako (nito),” she gushed.

JC, for his part, professed his love for Bianca, this time on nationwide TV.

“I love you. No promises. Of course may mga times na nandiyan ang away-bati tayo pero I think kakayanin natin.”

How true is it that a Powerful Executive PE of a network was recently given a memo (memorandum) by his superiors? The memo was allegedly about the unequal distribution of projects given to the network talents, among others.

Case in point is a Network Newcomer NN who has two (2) television series airing daily in the afternoon and at primetime. Likewise with Heartthrob Actor HA who is being given television projects without let up. The situation did not escape a Pioneer Talent PT of the network who had not been visible for a long time.

PT and a Network Boss NB had a talk one day during one of the network’s functions. After the initial pleasantries, PT related his situation to NB that he had been without any project for almost a year already. He hinted to NB that PE seemed to be playing favorites in assigning projects to his favored stars at the expense of Homegrown Talents HT like him.

PT reiterated further that he had been contemplating to transfer to another network. He told NB that like him, a fellow HT - hunk and very Talented Actor TA – had been in the same predicament, thus had already moved and signed up with a rival network.

NB was reportedly surprised on hearing this, and immediately relayed PT’s concerns to Top Executive TE to resolve the matter saying that all network talents should be treated fairly. Thus a memo was sent to PE. TE made a major decision that a change of hands is to be implemented as far as assignment of projects is concerned.

It was reportedly decided that an Influential Director ID would now take the lead.

A lot of HT’s were privately rejoicing on hearing the latest development. For the HT’s, nothing can be happier news than this, knowing that they would no longer be at the mercy of PE who played politics and favoritism all those years.

Did Deniece Cornejo Lambast Vhong Navarro on Social Media?

An Instagram account believed to be owned by Deniece Cornejo posted a series of statements against actor Vhong Navarro, calling him a coward.

“Vhong Navarro, huwag kang duwag! Huwag mo pairalin kasikatan mo hindi porket artista ka pwede mo ng gawin lahat ng gusto mo! Babae ako alam ko karapatan ko! At ipaglalaban ko hanggang sa huli!” said one post attributed to “Deniece Cornejo” by Instragram handler “onlyrealdeniece.”

(Vhong Navarro, don’t be a coward. Don’t use your popularity. Just because you’re an actor, you can already do whatever you want. I’m a woman, I know my rights! And I will fight for it to the end!)

The statement was posted Monday, the same day a warrant of arrest was issued against Cornejo, Cedric Lee and five others charged in the mauling of Navarro last January 22.

While the seven respondents could post bail, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said the arrest warrant would prevent them from leaving the country without any clearance from the court.

In a previous statement also posted Monday by “onlyrealdeniece,” “Deniece Cornejo” called for an end to what she described a “special treatment” being given to a serial rapist.

“In [Jesus’] name, don’t glorify the SERIAL RAPIST! Stop the special treatment! Those who have used and abused their power, those who conspired with the abusers will someday meet the great equalizer,” the post said.

She also called on the Department of Justice to be vigilant.

“Calling DOJ to be vigilant to judge. Will you tolerate someone who has a history of rape? RAPIST CAN BE ANYONE?”

“Very obvious wala pang 10 days ni-resolve na? Why because of the coming soon movie? We wanna know who are the people behind this. STOP MANIPULATING PEOPLE! Very corrupt country!” the post further said.

In her most recent posts, “onlyrealdeniece” slammed an unnamed television station for allegedly condoning a rapist.

“Dear station, open your eyes! Alam ko hindi kayo papayag mapahiya kaya ginagawa ninyo ang lahat kaya masyado na kayo kumpyansa. Lalo nyo lang pinapalakas ang loob ng isang RAPIST! Hindi ako makakapayag dumami pa ang rape victims nya! J-U-S-T-I-C-E!!!” the post said.

(Dear station, open your eyes! I know you just do not want to be embarrassed that is why you are doing everything, and that is why you are so confident. You are just boosting the morale of a rapist. I will not let him victimize other people. J-U-S-T-I-C-E!!!)

“Huwag n’yong lasonin ang taong bayan! Walang tatakas sa ibang bansa dahil expired na ang passport. Huwag mangiral ang negosyo sa inyo!!!” she added, apparently referring to the arrest warrant issued by the court.

(Do not poison the people’s perception. No one will escape overseas because [our passports are] already expired. You just want your business to prevail.)

Inquirer.net tried but failed to reach Cornejo’s lawyer, Howard Calleja, for comment.

Zest is Dampened

Not too long ago, Passionate Actress PA was overwhelmed that her showbiz comeback would be very warmly welcomed by both her fans and colleagues - and for good reason. Then and now, PA exudes a fresh aura and a radiant positivity . To others, PA is a breath of fresh air, someone who is cool to work with. Indeed, she inspires without really trying.

It is no wonder that PA is besieged with offers from different networks. But like a true professional, she just doesn’t grab anything that comes her way. In television series for example, PA chooses only the roles that she can do justice to, carefully noting that she has self-imposed limitations to abide by. Yet, on the set, she always comes prepared for the demands of her work.

At the beginning of her latest series, PA enjoyed the camaraderie that she had with fellow actors, who are all respected in their fields. Everything went fine in the beginning until some tension started between her and Actress in Trouble AT.

PA is reportedly resentful of AT who, more often than not, is making work difficult not only for her but for other co-actors as well. On the set, both PA and AT often do scenes together - heavy scenes that is.

It started when AT comes to the set unprepared. You know, not studying one’s character and script will definitely cause major problems on the production as well as the cast. Reportedly, AT is very guilty of this. The characters of PA and AT require the both of them to be constantly in the scenes together.

However, PA resents it because she comes to the set well-prepared. Reportedly, their scenes together take as much as 4 to 5 takes everytime because AT often forgets her lines. PA has been complaining lately that among other things, having several retakes with AT takes too much of her time that would otherwise be spent going home early to be with her family.

Allegedly, PA made a request to the production to lessen her scenes with AT saying that it was draining her a lot of her energy. The request reportedly reached AT, and in no time the once sweet relationship between the two turned sour. It used to be that AT brought food for PA. Now, she had to stop it if only to telegraph her strong sentiments.

How long will their gap last? Perhaps, only the tail-end of their series can tell.

Heartbreaking Texts from Students on Sinking Korean Ferry

A family member of a missing passenger who was on the South Korean ferry "Sewol" which sank at sea cries as she waits for news from a rescue team at a gym in Jindo.

Heart-wrenching messages of fear, love and despair, sent by high school students from a sinking South Korean ferry, added extra emotional weight Thursday to a tragedy that has stunned the nation.

Nearly 300 people -- most of them students on a high school trip to a holiday island -- are still missing after the ferry capsized and sank on Wednesday morning.

"Sending this in case I may not be able to say this again. Mom, I love you," student Shin Young-Jin said in a text to his mother that was widely circulated in the South Korean media.

"Oh, I love you too son," texted back his mother -- unaware at the time that her boy was caught in a life and death struggle to escape the rapidly sinking vessel.

Unlike many others, the exchange had a happy ending as Shin was one of only 179 survivors rescued before the ferry capsized and went under the water.

Others were not so fortunate.

Another student, 16-year-old Kim Woong-Ki, sent a desperate text for help to his elder brother as the ship listed violently over to one side.

"My room is tilting about 45 degrees. My mobile is not working very well," Kim messaged.

Seeking to reassure him, his brother said he was sure help was on the way.

"So don't panic and just do whatever you're told to do. Then you'll be fine," he messaged back.

There was no further communication and Kim was listed among the 287 people on board still unaccounted for.

Sadly his brother's advice was similar to that of the crew, who controversially ordered passengers to stay put when the ship first foundered.

Angry relatives said this resulted in the passengers getting trapped when the ferry keeled over, cutting off routes of escape.

That grim scenario was encapsulated in the texts of an 18-year-old student, identified in the local media by her surname Shin.

"Dad, don't worry. I'm wearing a life vest and am with other girls. We're inside the ship, still in the hallway," the girl messaged to her father.

Her distraught father wrote back urging her to try and get out, but it was already too late.

"Dad, I can't. The ship is too tilted. The hallway is crowded with so many people," she responded in a final message.

Some parents managed a last, traumatic phone call with their children as they tried to escape.

"He told me the ship was tilted over and he couldn't see anything," one mother recalled of a panicked conversation with her student son.

"He said 'I haven't put on the life jacket yet', and then the phone went dead," the mother told the Dong-A Ilbo newspaper.

The JoongAng Ilbo published excerpts from a chatroom conversation between several students on the ferry.

"Hey guys, let's make sure we meet up alive," messaged one.

"I love you all," responded another.

It was not clear if the students were among those rescued.

Luis Manzano, who dated Jennylyn Mercado for two years before “rekindling old flame” with Angel Locsin, is aware of negative reactions to what happened. In fact, he told the Inquirer recently, “Some people thought there was connivance with our respective partners.”

He and Angel are “thankful to those who believed our [reconciliation] was really by chance, by destiny,” Luis said.

Angel had been separated from football star Phil Younghusband for only two months when she announced that she was back with Luis. Neither of them discussed why they left their previous relationships.

No talkies

“Angel and I avoided each other for three years. There were occasions when we had adjacent dressing rooms at ABS-CBN, but we never said hello. When we spoke again, everything was pleasant,” Luis told reporters during the launch of Sensodyne’s “No to Pangingilo” campaign, of which he is a spokesperson.

Many of his show biz friends are engaged or tying the knot next year, the 32-year-old TV host-actor noted, but he isn’t going the same route anytime soon. “I want to make a little more money, to give my future family a good life,” Luis said. “With my current income, that would probably take three to five more years.”

The proposal

He has laid out the scenario for his marriage proposal, though. “I can’t give details,” he said, and no, he hasn’t bought a ring.

“I was surprised at the cost. All this time I thought P1 million was far out. And then I find out there are rings that cost up to P2 million, even P3 million!”

If he got Angel such a ring, Luis said, “We’d get married in an adoration chapel, para [bawas] gastos.”

Seriously, they have not discussed where. “There’s that sense of lawfulness and legitimacy when you’re married inside a church. On the other hand, there’s beauty in doing it outdoors, the way my friends Iya (Villania) and Drew (Arellano) did it,” he said.

Hopeless romantic

He’s not ashamed to admit he’s a hopeless romantic. “I was more romantic and expressive than Angel in the first part of our relationship,” Luis revealed. “Ngayon, humahabol na siya (she’s catching up).”

To illustrate: “She’s the type who hardly holds her cell phone. Now, she sends me text messages as soon as she wakes up or when she gets home. She makes effort to tell me how her day went. It’s these small things that really count for me.”

Luis recounted Angel’s most recent meeting with his mom, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos. “My mom said something like, ‘Welcome back to your home.’ I just sat back and watched them. I didn’t want to intrude; it looked like they were making up for lost time.”

He hopes to have as close a relationship with the actress’ dad, Angel Colmenares. “Things between us look great, but I don’t want to speak on Tito’s behalf,” Luis said.
