Just a Stately Decision of the Queen

After her hiatus, the network gave her a high profile project. The project had all the media promos to stir interest, and the audience had high expectations for the drama comeback of EA. The series had a solid cast, and EA exercised her personal choices in choosing whom she wanted to be part of the production. The viewers were not disappointed as the project lived up to expectations.
However, within a few weeks, the series had changed timeslots to accommodate another series of a younger network talent. The series of EA was going to be pitted with the breakthrough series of the rival network, which was enjoying high ratings and viewer interest because it had no close competition at that time. Now, changing the timeslot of a series could spell its doom. True enough, despite its high ratings, EA’s series was not able to dislodge the series of the rival.
Then, barely into a season, stories made the rounds that the series of EA was about to end. The public was stunned as this soap was the comeback of EA, and her series was doing well anyway. So, why end something that the network kept publicizing was doing quite well?
Apparently, EA did not like the idea of having her timeslot changed. EA allegedly was no longer keen on taping, and without the lead star, it was best to end the series after a season. With her decision, EA indeed proved that she is a queen.
The latest widely publicized development is that her network has already offered her to host a reality show for children. In fact, the press already thinks that this offer is already a solid sign that EA will remain with her network. However, EA allegedly turned down this offer, and the teaser was made without a contract or her knowledge. As the network is in a quandary as to how to keep EA, she opted to take a break for a few weeks. EA will then announce her decision whether to stay or to move after her brief vacation.
Is the hosting project worthy of the status of EA, and will this project be enough to sustain her presence in primetime? History has shown that EA always stuck it out with her current network, but will the public be in for a shocking change? A sitcom with her significant other is allegedly being offered by the other network. If EA moves to this network, then their “queen” should be ready to share her throne, or perhaps, give way to the real queen.

Hold Release of Pork or No Pork altogether?

There will be no release of pork barrel to lawmakers until the probe on the multi-million pork barrel scam is over.
This is what President Benigno Aquino III said in an interview with GMA's Maki Pulido on Monday, August 19, as the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) continues to investigate a scheme that allegedly involved senators and congressional representatives misusing or pocketing their Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
"We will finish the investigation first and check if there are loopholes that can still be closed," he said.
He also said the administration has "performance-based indicators" and "budget releases [are] based on their performance" that apply to all department agencies.
"There's a time limit. If you don't use it, it goes to savings. Savings will utilize it," he said.
Aquino also expressed hope those who use their PDAF for good won't be affected because of those who misuse their pork barrel.
On Friday, August 16, the Commission on Audit (COA) released details on how lawmakers have disregarded rules to allocate excessive funds to their projects. It also shows questionable implementation of various projects by non-government organizations (NGOs) chosen by the lawmakers themselves.
The President has repeatedly said he does not think abolishing pork barrel is the solution to PDAF-related corruption. He said he is open to reforming the process, and has expressed support for more severe punishments for those who misuse theirs.
Errors
Aquino also defended "one congressman," who was supposedly allotted P3-billion in pork barrel, according to the COA report.
He did not name the lawmaker but former Compostela Valley congressman and now Vice Governor Manuel "Way Kurat" Zamora was tagged in an alleged anomalous allocation involving the same amount. Zamora has denied the accusation.
Aquino echoed what House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr said, pointing out that Zamora's name was not mentioned in the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) in question. Aquino said the P3-billion project was addressed to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and "the wrong name was put in" during "encoding."
He also used the flaw to cite another error he said existed in the COA report: the P40-million allegedly allocated to him while he was a congressman. This is something he does not recall to be accurate, he said.
Immediate action
Aquino gave assurances the administration is acting fast in bringing the guilty lawmakers to justice.
He said at least two cases could be filed soon against "[lawmakers] who have shown a pattern" of being involved in irregularities. But he declined to say whether they are senators or congressmen.
About 180 congressmen and 12 senators were tagged by the COA report as being linked with dubious transactions.
According to Aquino, the administration is also working on dissolving certain organizations at the moment. They were involved in irregularities such as the state-run ZNAC Rubber Estate Corp (ZREC) in Zamboanga, which has been probed for its alleged disbursement of PDAF to a fake NGO. "In 2003 it was recommended for dissolution," said Aquino. "In December 2009, when we were tackling the 2010 budget, I brought it up [and asked] why is their pork still downloaded?"

Another Controversial Third Party?

When showbiz couples break up, tongues will immediately wag and fingers will point to a third party. Often, the public never accepts that a couple broke up because it was a mutual decision, and for the good of both parties. There is always a third party regardless of it being a person or an issue that involves money.
Take the case of how Skillful Actress (SA) was dragged into the breakup of a showbiz couple. The couple has denied any third party that was responsible for destroying their relationship. Meanwhile, SA has reacted by clearing her name, and requesting that she be left out of the issue. However, a story is circulating that SA might have a stronger connection in the breakup of Male Performer (MP) and Versatile Talent (VT).
Sometime ago, SA got very worried when she could not find a pair of her expensive earrings. When she could not find it, the helpers had to endure the most of the unjust accusations. Then, after a thorough search and careful recall, SA remembered that she might have left her earrings in the pad of MP. Why would any woman leave her expensive jewelry at a man’s home?
SA soon found time to retrieve her earrings, and it was no surprise that she left the pad of MP early in the morning of the next day. As SA and MP were involved in a project, the production people noticed the closeness of the two during filming despite just being together for a couple of days. When the location was out of town, both had separate rooms. However, SA and MP were always together in one room. Later on, they gave gifts like gadgets, and brought food for each one.
Is not having a third party in a break up merely a myth? The break up issue is dying a natural death because the involved parties have refused to speak about it. Did SA discover a dent in the relationship of MP and VT, which was thought to be one of most stable in showbiz? For some, love is lovelier the second time around, and most people wish this saying will be true for MP and VT in the future.

Ever since she started in showbusiness, Morphing Performer (MP), has reinvented her style and rechristened herself a few times. It’s not that MP lacks talent or has not received good opportunities to shine. In fact, MP is a competent host, singer, and actress. She has done various hosting gigs since she was very young, competed and won in an international star search held locally, has even joined a number of reality shows, and has done the rounds of the major networks. Despite the various exposures, her career has yet to zoom. MP lacks the factor that can bring legions of fans at her beckoning.
Like MP, Actor Model (AM) has joined a reality show where he gained enough notice to be recognized by name and by face. Since then, AM has tried hosting and acting. However, since he really could not act as well, and his foreign upbringing has resulted in his tongue-twisting Filipino, his exposure is limited. Nonetheless, AM is still a hunk that can attract attention.
Together, AM and MP are claiming they’re only best friends. However, they have been spotted several times in a restaurant near a gym in a mall. At that time, MP was still rumored to be in a relationship. Recently, AM and MP were spotted kissing each other near the gym. AM even accompanied MP to a nearby restaurant where she waited until he was done with his gym workout.
Are AM and MP already a couple? In AM’s social media page, there are alleged photos of MP in silhouette. Well, as always, couples in local showbusiness do not admit to any relationship until it’s over. What could be stopping AM and MP to proclaim if they are indeed a couple? Except for MP’s constant reinvention of herself, neither is controversial anyway.
