Don't Photos Lie?

Most of us benefit a lot from the use – and abuse – of social media. For the members of IC, it is no different, as they enjoy its every conceivable feature. Every little change of clothing, food, gifts of whatever, places and parties gone to - all are vigorously posted on their respective accounts. Well, it’s fine alright. After all, social media’s popularity has definitely reached such dizzying heights.
But for everything there is to it, what catches one’s attention to the posts of some IC members is their closeness. You see public photos of them with wide smiles, all signifying their unquestionable love and commitment as a family. How ideal indeed, if true.
It is public knowledge how generous this flambuoyant relative FR is to the other members of IC. Reportedly, a younger member YM of IC is the luckiest recipient of FR's bottomless generosity. YM who has the biggest number of family members often gets the biggest slice of the pie from FR.
Reportedly, while the family members FM of YM are savoring all of these, unknown (probably) to them, the lone family member LM of FR is not so cool with it. According to the source, LM privately resents the materialistic and freeloading culture of YR and FM. On the surface, LM pretends that she supports FR’s decisions and her alleged misplaced generosity. But deep inside, LM is allegedly revolting against such practice.
At an intimate gathering one day, LM was overheard alluding to FM as FR’s “dependents” (note: dependents was used in place of the actual and harsher term that LM used)
Has LM gone weary with the members of IC? Is she now bearing the brunt of what is called “donor fatigue?” Your guess might be as good as mine.

Claudine Barretto: I'm Back!

MANILA, Philippines -- After a controversy-plagued two-year hiatus from showbiz, Claudine Barretto is finally coming back.
The 33-year-old actress invited ABS-CBN News to the birthday party of her daughter, Sabina, held Saturday afternoon at Blue Water Day Spa in Quezon City, where she made the announcement.
"Nag-pe-prepare na ako. Puspusan na ang pagpe-prepare. Actually mga one week palang ako nakakapag-prepare. I'm very excited. I'm very, very excited," she told ABS-CBN News and other members of the press.
Barretto confirmed an earlier report of ABS-CBN News that she is set to star in two films -- one under Viva Films, where she is under contract, and the other, a project involving Star Cinema.
Star Cinema is the film production outfit of ABS-CBN, where Barretto was an exclusive talent for 17 years, before she signed with GMA-7 in 2009.
"Hindi ko alam kung ano ang mauuna [sa dalawang pelikula], magmi-meeting palang kami. Mag-mi-mieet palang kami hopefully this week, and doon ko malalaman," she said.
Barretto's last regular role in a TV series was "Iglot" in 2011. Her last film, a co-production of Viva Films and GMA Films, "In Your Eyes," was released in 2010.
"So now finally, sa lahat ng mga Claudinians, malapit na malapit na po. Magpapa-kundisyon lang, dahil medyo maraming pinagdaanan, pero eto na. Eto na rin. Malapit na malapit na," she said.
Despite her being inactive as an actress in recent years, Barretto has continued to be the subject of headlines, most recently due to a feud among her family members and her separation from husband Raymart Santiago.
The birthday celebration of Barretto's daughter on Saturday was the first time the actress had an on-camera interview since both issues erupted.

Learning the Ropes

However, some passengers got turned off when they saw that AM got into a foul mood when he could not fit his hand-carry luggage into the compartment. Since he boarded quite late, space would naturally be scarce by then. Fellow passengers near AM were startled when he angrily banged the door of the overhead bin that caught the attention of the other passengers.
Throughout the whole travel time, AM gave an appearance that he could not be approached nor bothered for anything (read: fans wanting photos with him). Such that those who saw him were pissed and kind of felt that AM must be flattering himself too much. Certainly even if one assumes that he/she is so popular, not everything that moves would kill to get to you. Celebrities should know the terrain.
For all his conceit, perhaps AM would do better if he improves his craft instead. Too often, he is bashed for his so-so hosting skills, his frequent blunders such as his embarrassing mispronunciation which is a big no-no in hosting. Observers say that these could have been avoided had AM done diligent research - as professionals ought to do. Yet they say AM is far from a professional mainly because he just keeps accepting projects such hosting gigs without due research and preparation.

Sexy Actress SA ‘s suddenly single status created quite a buzz in this gossip-crazy biz. There were many versions of why, what, how it came about . SA’s last affair was that she publicly declared as her Dream Guy DG ever.
When SA parted ways with a leading actor LA, it was rumored that her then “relationship” with DG caused it all. However, for reasons only known to them, SA and DG kept mum about the whole thing between them. In their interviews, and even when their photos together were splashed all over social media, SA and DG were still in complete denial. Between the two of them, it was allegedly SA who loved more than DG did.
But unbeknownst to most, there were some issues that were slowly eroding SA and DG’s relationship. Ironically, one of these allegedly involved a mysterious Third Party TP on SA’s part. Several times, DG caught SA lying to him so that she could cover up meeting with TP. Allegedly TP, a middle aged wealthy businessman got so smitten with SA and the two would meet up regularly.
Reportedly, after each meet-up with TP, SA would text..or brag to her friends that any moment, she would be purchasing several pieces of branded bags in one go. This bragging thing happened many times which pissed off many of her friends. Yet unknown to SA, they already knew who TP was, the man behind her sudden shopping sprees. So many more of the same, and not long after - DG himself got wind of the mysterious man.
DG’s discovery of TP was rumored to be one of the reasons why DG took her for a ride and dropped her like a hot potato sooner than expected.

MANILA, Philippines -Amid released publicity photos and mounting anticipation for the upcoming film based on the life of Filipino teen martyr Saint Pedro Calungsod, JM de Guzman backed out from playing the title role of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry.
De Guzman's father Ronnie confirmed in an interview with an entertainment website that the actor will be withdrawing from starring the indie film San Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir due to be released in the festival this December.
The elder De Guzman cited the actor's "health" as reason for withdrawing from the project, saying that he does not want his son to suffer tedious production and hours required to film the movie.
De Guzman is "going through something," his father said.
The movie's director Francis Villacorte said in the interview that regrets that the cast is losing De Guzman, whom he has always thought to be the "ideal actor" to play Calungsod - the catechist martyred in Guam in the 1600s.
"The role is very demanding emotionally, mentally, physically," Villacorte said, adding that he understands the elder De Guzman's concerns.
Villacorte, who is now in search for another actor who can replace de Guzman, reportedly worked on the script for two years prior to offering the title role to the actor.
"I suppose, since we’re telling a story of faith, it takes some kind of faith in the material and in the subject for people to really commit to the finish line," the director said.
Fans, meanwhile, started to speculate on who can play Calungsod in the film, posting their guesses on social media.
Villacorte said that he will soon formalize De Guzman's withdrawal through the MMFF committee.
