Seeing a celebrity in person is always a joy for the ordinary folks. A celebrity imprints an image in the minds of people. Often, that image comes with certain expectations. For example, a beauty queen is expected to look glorious and conduct herself in regal fashion; an actor who portrays villains is deemed to be a ‘bad person.’

When A Fan (AF) saw Pretty Star (PS) in person, AF was floored. PS was indeed beautiful in person. PS can be considered as part of showbiz royalty. Despite being a ‘nepo baby,’ PS climbed the ladder on her merits. She completed her studies as requested by her family and got her break with small roles that eventually grew as she proved herself. She managed to pick-up several recognitions along the way. Thus, she proved herself worthy of her family name.

What bothered AF was seeing the face of PS and that left quite an impression. Her flawless face showed allegedly that she was not really into healthy living. Darkened lines along her lips indicated that. Showbiz tension could have led to her bad habit. While cosmetics could hide the evidence, the mark remains. AF was left in disappointment.

‘Be humble,’ is always the best advice given by elders even in showbiz. Attitude is often noted by co-workers and can be the cause of behind-the-back talks. Sadly, Showbiz Newbie (SN) seems to have refused to take this advice.

SN took the modern route of achieving a niche in the entertainment industry. By establishing her presence as a content creator, she gradually built a fanbase. Moreover, what is often overlooked is that management teams are handling the evolving careers of many social media influencers. Using resources, these management teams build the careers of these influencers. Although penetrating showbiz is the end goal, social media presence still generates money.

In the case of SN, her popularity in social media was her ticket to gaining a foothold in showbiz. Sadly, humility is not her asset. Instead of knowing where she should position herself, she continued with an attitude that makes veterans cringe. These veterans know that pride and too much confidence in one’s personality predict downfalls. Even the most talented discoveries have realized that hard work and getting along with colleagues are needed for success. SN, probably blinded by sudden fame and endorsements, chose to be herself, that is, exude a persona missing humbleness. Fans can leave, contracts end, and endorsements are only as good as patronage. Perhaps, SN should take heed of what elders speak of.
