It was supposed to have been all’s well that ends well between Nicko Falcis and Kris Aquino. And Nicko, the former business manager of the former multi-media personality, was expected to have a hassle free Christmas in the Philippines, after lying low for several months in Thailand.
This after the two inked a compromise agreement in October after a much publicized and protracted legal battle.
Under the agreement, Aquino issued affidavits of desistance in all cases filed against Nicko and his brother Jesus. In the cases filed against Nicko, joint motions to dismiss were executed by the opposing parties.
But yesterday Nicko was arrested at the NAIA upon arriving from Thailand.
A source close to the family says Nicko was already released from detention today upon posting bail in connection with two cases filed against him by Aquino. Nicko posted a bail of P60,000 for the access device case and P6,000 for estafa. The Falcises posted bail yesterday in Pasay night court.
This morning, while waiting in a room — not behind bars — at the NBI detention center, Nicko had a breakfast of multicolored puto washed down by a bottle of C2 iced tea. Nicko was released early afternoon today.
The former managing director of Kris C. Aquino Productions (KCAP) was arrested due to pending arrest warrants issued against him by the Taguig Regional Trial Court, Branch 117 and Branch 70, for estafa through misappropriation or conversion, and for violation of Section 9 of Republic Act No. 8484, the access devices regulation act.
The source says the Falcis family expected the arrest. It was their desire to be reunited with Nicko this Christmas back home in the Philippines. Under the compromise agreement, the charges pending in the Taguig court were supposed to have been withdrawn within two months from the signing but Aquino’s supposed absences in the hearings derailed the process.
According to the source, the Taguig courts have not been able to act on the joint motions to dismiss because the judges require the personal appearance of the actress. Aquino claimed to be ill on three successive hearings, with the new hearing date set for January 22 next year.
Last October, the Divina law office released a statement saying Aquino and Falcis “have fairly settled all financial issues and amicably worked out all personal differences.” The statement further said, “To avoid any future misunderstanding, no further statement shall be forthcoming.”
Kris posted the statement on her Instagram account, writing in the caption: “Learn from yesterday…like today…but above all, make sure to love tomorrow.
Kris and Nicko have been embroiled in a legal battle since October 2018, when the actress filed a qualified theft complaint against Nicko in 7 cities, alleging Nicko misused the corporate card she gave him as managing director of Kris’ production company, KCAP.
Nicko later filed a grave threats case against Kris in January 2019, citing the allleged death threat she made against Nicko in a phone conversation while the latter was abroad. In April, the case was dismissed by the QC prosecutor.
Five cyber libel cases filed by Kris against Nicko’s younger brother Jesus Falcis in November 2018 have been dismissed after the compromise agreement was inked by the two parties.
Kris withdrew the charges in five separate affidavits of desistance. In one hearing, her camp presented its first witness, Elias ‘Jack’ Salvador in court. Kris was slated to testify next but this was overtaken by the signing of the agreement.

Despite the denials coming from Talented Wife (TW), rumors are persisting that her marriage with Non-showbiz Personality (NP) is over. After many years of togetherness and going through several trials, TW and NP appeared to have a strong marriage. The image was good for their careers, as followers always deemed people in higher status to be perfect.
When TW and NP admitted their relationship and eventually got married when they were at their prime, many admired the couple. TW left her career and opted for a quiet life with NP. Over the years, TW would make her presence felt in showbiz with rare appearances to appease fans and former mentors. However, her heart was with her family and TW focused her energy on raising their kids. The limelight and acting were no longer important to TW.
Nonetheless, people who claim to know are saying that TW and NP have gone separate ways after many years of togetherness. Physical distance is literally between the two. While NP is left at their conjugal area, TW is alleged to be traveling around the country and even abroad. Worse, rumors are spreading that the mysterious new partner of NP is already carrying their baby.
These days, while NP is focused on his mission, TW is doing hers as well. After a strong denial and raising suspicions as to who started the rumor of separation, as well as the reason, the talks are still alive. However, as far as social media accounts of TW are concerned, all is well. Besides, image has always been an important factor with the couple.

The Supreme Court has affirmed the Court of Appeals' dismissal of the P127-million copyright infringement case filed by ABS-CBN Corporation against television network ABC Development Corporation (formerly TV5, now The 5 Network) and television host Willie Revillame for allegedly copying the defunct noontime show Wowowee.
In an October 16, 2019 resolution, the Supreme Court First Division denied ABS-CBN's appeal and confirmed the Court of Appeals' decision dismissing the case on the ground of forum shopping.
Forum shopping refers to an act of a litigant of filing multiple cases in different venues based on the same cause of action. It is prohibited by the courts and may be a ground for dismissal of a case.
In August 2010, Revillame filed a case before a Quezon City court seeking judicial confirmation of his rescission of contract as host of Wowowee. He also asked for P11 million in damages, accusing the network of breaching the provisions of his contract.
This was after ABS-CBN suspended and placed Revillame under probation for publicly asking the network to sack talent and showbiz scribe Jobert Sucaldito for allegedly attacking Wowowee guests on the latter’s radio program.
In response, ABS-CBN filed a P486-million counterclaim against Revillame for breach of contract.
The network also filed a P127-million copyright infringement case against Revillame, his production outfit (WilProductions, Inc.) and ABC5 before a Makati regional trial court, alleging that Willie’s show with ABC5 "Willing Willie" is a "copycat" of Wowowee.
The Court of Appeals however dismissed the copyright claim in September 2011.
SC RULING
In affirming the CA’s dismissal, the Supreme Court said ABS-CBN "failed to sufficiently show any reversible error on the part of the CA in declaring the petitioner guilty of forum shopping."
"[T]he petitioner resorted to forum shopping when it filed a complaint for infringement, the cause of action of which is similar to its compulsory counterclaim in Civil Case No. Q-10-67770 considering that both can be traced from Revillame’s refusal to honor his Talent Agreement," the high court said in its resolution.
The high court ordered ABS-CBN to pay the costs of the suit.

When MP and FC met and fell in love, their relationship was branded with much hope and pride. FC finally met the man of her dreams, while MP had the woman who could bring him happiness that he longed for then. Defying all odds, MP chose to be with FC and stay with her. MP dismissed his family’s not liking FC and continued to risk being ostracized. Meanwhile, FC tried to fit in the lifestyle of MP. Although she learned about the finer things in life, certain aspects of class cannot be bought and showbiz could not have enough of her.
While FC has been going about her own business and family matters, MP has been managing the affairs of his heart. Allegedly, he has been seriously dating Socialite Businesswoman (SB), who moves in a circle different from that of FC. Thus, MP is cool at whatever is happening in the life of FC. For example, he’s not making a big deal over rumors linking FC to Other Male (OM), as scandals are far from his upbringing. Besides, he’s not anymore interested in allowing his name and family to be dragged in mundane matters.
Rumors have it that FC has received a significant gift from MP, which is his last major obligation to her. Correspondingly, MP has talked to OM about taking care of FC when he packs up his bags and goes to where his heart is, which could be SB. MP has been wanting to live a quiet life, away from the nuances the celebrity status FC brings wherever she is.
