Possible Career End

Whenever a celebrity faces a controversy, the temptation to answer every detail is so great that the response is usually a lengthy explanation that somehow branches into other issues. Other than details, foul words and emotional outbursts are included as well. Thus, instead of just addressing the issue in the first place, other matters are inadvertently revealed. Subsequently, the more a celebrity responds, the more that the issue will not die down and the more hurt the involved parties will feel.
However, other celebrities have learned to keep quiet and not react even if they are badgered on social media. For example, outspoken kin, who is very vocal when it comes to reacting to social issues, has suddenly kept quiet in an issue that the press has made a feast out of. Moreover, no statement has been released in response to a controversial revelation, which has left fans and family at a loss over the status of Allegedly Problematic talent (AP).
Meanwhile, rumors have it that given that controversy, the management is no longer keen on renewing the contract of AP, as they do not tolerate such issue. AP will just have to finish commitments and then rethink the possible direction of his career, that is, if he still wants to continue with the family legacy. Sadly, these days are a far contrast to the time when almost all of AP’s relatives had projects with the major stations. It’s either they have moved on to other endeavors or settled down or just opted not to be in any project. Of course, not being tapped in a project is a possibility given the competition with dozens of talents for just one role.
What is clear for sure is that AP and his kin seem to be showing a united stand by being silent over a very hurting issue.

A Bad Move

The project had well-meaning intentions. In fact, most critics praised the project for bringing together two top performers, who managed to bring life to their characters. The director is even one of the brightest in the industry, whose movies are often worth the wait. Until the project was shown, everything was going well. The first day earned a reputable take at the box-office and was expected to set a trend. Then, the weekend promo came and after which, all expectations plummeted and the project was doomed.
Sadly, the fate of the said project was sealed by Comebacking Celebrity (CC) who could not help himself but express an honest opinion. By being honest, CC miscalculated that his words would touch the sensitivity of netizens, who suddenly realized his way of thinking. The snowball effect became reality. A call to boycott the movie was posted and apparently, people followed.
Immediately, the management called for a meeting to assess what was happening. How can a project that had all the good elements of a hit movie fail? During the meeting, the heads were lamenting how the project’s earnings for almost a week could not even cover the production costs. Someone pointed out the social media call to boycott the project and thus led to the spontaneous answer of CC.
One of the writers of the said show where CC made his remark defended their show. The segment has been part of the show and the production had no control over what the guests would say. Hence, the poor box office result should not be blamed on their show. CC was caught unaware and could not say anything. As a stop-gap measure, all videos of the controversial statement of CC were pulled out of the Internet and the company’s social media platforms.
The bigger effect is that the Christmas campaign for a popular product synonymous with CC has been cancelled. Perhaps, the company felt the opinion of CC has no place in their company. Besides, social media might suddenly call for a boycott of the company given the presence of CC. Then, CC allegedly has another product endorsement and that was cancelled as well. A planned project with CC and Gorgeous Personality (GP) was shelved for the meantime. Subsequently, CC was advised not to react nor respond to anything that has to do with his statement.
