Goodbye, Girl

It seems that Pretty Personality (PP) is living up to a decision that is making Her Boyfriend (HB) happy at the expense of Secret Collaborator (SC). Long before HB entered the life of PP, she and SC have been enjoying a highly confidential relationship that is non-committal and restricted only to the privacy of their bedrooms. PP and SC cannot even be seen chummy together as that would rekindle rumors about their sexual preference.

Over the years, PP and SC have been subjected to gossips about their choices in separate occasions. However, for the two to hook up seems impossible as far as their public image is concerned. Although they are colleagues, they are miles apart in terms of network loyalty and activity. Both have been linked to their leading men in many of their movies as well. However, these days, PP has been consciously avoiding SC because she found new happiness in HB.

HB, meanwhile, actually heard of the rumors linking PP with SC in the course of their relationship. PP would allegedly see SC on the side when he was away or busy with work. Not to be placed in an awkward situation, HB found it odd to confront SC about the rumor. Moreover, SC might get back at him and call him out for his transgressions in his relationships.

Instead of feeling threatened, HB made his moves to ensure that PP’s attention will only be for him. Every time he gets time off, he takes her out on trips around the country or abroad. During their private moments, he makes sure he fully satisfies PP and make every minute count with him. His moves worked. Soon after, PP is the one initiating for them to be intimate, which is making HB happy. By contrast, whenever SC wants to meet PP, she gets ignored and perhaps, she is getting the message that PP is saying adieu to their private collaborations.

‘Too often in life, something happens and we blame other people for us not being happy or satisfied or fulfilled. So, the point is, we all have choices, and we make the choice to accept people or situations or to not accept situations.’ – Tom Brady

Smell of Stress

Certain events can bring out the best or worst from a person. While people would prefer to be shown the most positive effect, negative effects often win. When Feisty Actress (FA) found herself dragged in a controversy, she was so stressed out that the effects manifested in a huge event.

When FA met up with her friends in a huge event, all she could talk about for hours what her frustration at an incident involving two network talents, whom she has known since the time they started careers. While most showbiz aficionados already realized she was merely being used to gain mileage, FA would not have any of it. The bad part was that her frustration became physical.

During dinner, FA was releasing much of her tension and unfortunately, that unleashed a powerful force coming from her mouth. Thus, fellow talents seated next to her started to be uncomfortable at the smell coming from her every time she opened her mouth. Her polite friends tolerated the smell and proceeded to listen to her talk.

After dinner came the dancing. By that time, FA was already tipsy from having a drink too many. FA did her moves on the dancefloor and she was indeed having a good time. Then, she started raising her arms and similarly, FA was emitting a smell from her sweaty body. The people on the dancefloor politely moved away from her, as they were bothered by FA.

When FA returned her wardrobe, the lender was very disappointed. The wardrobe was smelling so bad that the lender said it smelled like a dead rodent. However, not much could be done but to have the outfit washed and cleaned. Moreover, people were too polite to call the attention of FA knowing that she became a victim even if she was just minding her business quietly.

‘I do believe that using fragrance is a plus. It's one of our senses and it's be a waste not to use our sense of smell. I also think smell is something that tells a lot about a person.’ – Nacho Figueras

SM Supermalls was hailed as winner of the most coveted Agora for Marketing Company of the Year in the prestigious 39th Agora Awards at the recently concluded Awards Night last October 19, held at the Okada Manila Grand Ballroom.

“Innovation has always been at the core of SM’s growth as exemplified by our founder Henry Sy Sr. when he opened SM North Edsa over 30 years ago in the swampland of Quezon City to today, as we partner with first-in-market global brands and introduce never-seen-in-the-Philippines activations that inspire family fun moments and bring smiles to children’s faces,” says Steven T. Tan, SM Supermalls Chief Operating Officer.

While Philippine Marketing Association hosts the Agora Awards annually, there has not been a winner of the Marketing Company of the Year for the past two years. Deemed as the Oscars of the Philippines’ marketing industry, the Agora Awards honor companies for their excellence, innovation, and contributions in the field of marketing.

The SM Group received its first Agora Award in 1999, where Mr. Henry Sy Sr. was presented with The Agora for Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship – Large Scale. In 2004, The SM Foundation was given The Agora for Outstanding Achievement for Advocacy Marketing.

SM Supermalls’ Agora for Marketing Company of the Year in the 39th Agora Awards

Receiving the Agora for Marketing Company of Year is indeed another historical and defining milestone for the SM brand as the conglomerate continues to immortalize Henry Sy Sr.’s dream to serve and bring smiles to millions of Filipinos from all over the country.
