Just Be Game

Whenever male and female talents are paired off by their management, expect their fans to wish they would end up together. Instead of just role playing the boyfriend-girlfriend life, fans would root for the talents to be with each other 24/7. However, the norm is that even if the talents are together in real life, no admission should be done unless the management says so. By publicly declaring that they are committed to each other diminishes the hope of fans to be the one. As long as no one admits to anything, the talents remain desirable.
Nonetheless, the trend seems to be different these days and the norm seems to be the opposite. Several loveteams have broken the practice and have risked their careers, that is, they have admitted to be real. Despite the admission, certain fans will not believe and insist everything is just for show.
Sometime ago, the audience was surprised when Female Celebrity (FC) admitted that she and Male Actor (MA) have officially been together for quite a time. Their loyal followers were elated, as what they have longed for finally came through. For FC, such a relationship would be fitting, as it ends all speculations if MA were indeed true to their loveteam. FC revealed the secret with conviction.
Although the news seemed great publicity, something was amiss. The person most shocked at the revelation was MA, who for several years has been ambivalent on his feelings toward FC despite getting emotional in front of the camera. Allegedly, MA was unhappy with the revelation because the admission was not true at all. While they are together as a loveteam, his heart was with his Non-showbiz Girlfriend (NG). MA brought his concerns to the management, but they could not really do much, as the “secret” was already made public. Besides, the idea was the brainchild of the camp of FC, who thought that admission would be good for their projects. After all, the audience became curious when a Highly Popular (HP) couple finally admitted what their fans long believed. This curiosity translated into money, which is obviously was the camp of FC is banking on.
Hence, MA was advised to just live up to the revelation in front of the camera and fans. The ‘kilig’ factor should be maintained. MA realized that he must obey or else his career would be over. As for NG, she should just continue to be in the shadows and not dare come out. Any item that would ruin the credibility of the revelation of FC would bring an end to the prosperous reputation of her loveteam with MA.

Once upon a time, Female Celebrity (FC) was the favorite of the staff and everyone who worked behind the scenes of a production. FC was chummy with the people who worked in non-field work and whom she would see when she would visit the office. Although she was a struggling talent then, these people rooted for her and gave her hope. FC was patient and nice to them. However, the present is not the same anymore.
After FC proved her talent and box-office potential, she started drifting away from the behind-the-scenes people. She no longer spent time to bond with them and when she was around, she would just go directly to the big bosses without even saying a hi or a hello. This change of attitude was resented by several people. Thus, instead of wishing her happiness and success, they became disinterested.
To make things worse, some are even pushing for The Partner (TP) to leave FC as a screen partner. They believe the time is right for a career move and are pushing for TP to go solo. They are confident that TP can prove himself without the presence of FC. However, they are also saying that TP should go on his own so as not to be affected by negative writeups about FC.
Unfortunately, little does FC know that people in her own camp are ganging up on her and are not pushing for her success. When negative write ups are published on FC, followers have noticed that no or less effort is exerted to make a positive spin out of these issues. Sometimes, the negative issues thrown at FC are ignored and FC, at times, would explain her side on her effort alone.
At any rate, as long as their solo projects do well at the box-office, then perhaps, separating the couple would turn out to be a good idea. As for FC, embarking on a solo career would give her a chance to grow better and prove that she can act indeed.

Remain or Move

Despite all good intentions and innovations, certain shows of networks might fail to deliver. Even the cast of a show does not guarantee that it will a hit. Moreover, even if a show rates, it might still be cancelled because it might not have enough ads. By contrast, a show that is not doing so well in the ratings might end up lasting longer because of product placements.
Which road will a Prized Performer (PP) take? As contracts are in season, networks and management firms are carefully planning strategies to sign up or attract talents to their camp. Similarly, certain stars have to study carefully the offers presented in front of them. While the money is good, celebrities who make the big leap often say it’s not about it, as they have considered only the best decision for their families. These days, PP is in the news, as a major decision is about to break out in a few weeks. Although PP is a competent and well-loved personality, her shows are not doing well in the ratings. Even if her shows are creative and innovative, the viewers are not enough to show a decent showing in terms of audience share. The station is investing in PP’s shows even if management knows the ROI might not break even. As long as the station has PP in their roster, they will be happy.
Nonetheless, the grapevine is abuzz that PP might indeed make the big move. A Close Relation (CR) has advised PP to think very well on where she wants to go after her current contracts expire. When CR made the move, his exposure had better reach and his projects were given one after the other. Thus, CR has a strong case in convincing PP to move.
Allegedly, she has been secretly meeting with the rival network’s bosses and the terms of the contract are being well thought out. Still, rumors have it that the decision is almost 100% sure. However, one cannot discount the possibility of PP’s present station to present a very lucrative contract just to make her stay. As nothing is definite and PP is not even giving hints, the fans are playing the ‘wait and see’ game.
