Unfounded Assumptions

“What goes around comes around” is usually told to people who took advantage of a situation and got what they wanted at the expense of others. Sometimes, people even use “karma” to justify if someone experiences what he/she has done to another. Could Controversial Celebrity (CC) be thinking of such when she decided to cut short the break given to Industry Newbie (IN)?

Word has it that CC fired IN, who was working as an apprentice in one of her businesses for undisclosed reasons. When IN got accepted into the team of CC, she was excited as everyone who wants to enter the business knows that CC is one of the best in her profession. Naturally, IN showed her amiable side and was friendly to everyone. However, IN seemed to be too friendly that it made a Senior Staff (SS) extra observant.

While CC seems to be enjoying the best of her personal and professional worlds, certain matters continue to hound her in both areas. When she hinted that she has a very special relationship with Dashing Man (DM), several questions were thrown at her. Like most celebrities, CC let them pass and kept quiet. One time, DM came over to the office of CC. As she was busy, IN took the initiative to serve the needs of DM. So, she prepared him coffee and eventually, they started to talk and DM even asked for her number.

Later, DM called the office and IN was on duty. SS assumed that something was happening between DM and IN as they were engaged in serious talk. SS realized the two had been talking prior to the call. Subsequently, SS, trying to butter up to the boss, told CC what happened. Without giving IN the benefit of doubt, fired her without telling her the reason.

In her circle, IN was still at a loss, but then, as an intern, she knew she could be removed at any time. When the theory of jealousy came up, IN explained to her friends that DM and his late brother were very close friends from way back, but lost track of each other. DM had no idea that her brother had already passed away and he wanted to get details, which was why they were talking.

When DM asked CC about IN, CC told him she resigned. Well, insecurity might have set in, as IN is articulate, young, and has good features. The ghost of her past might have reminded CC that what she did to the ex-partner of DM might happen to her. Paranoia is real.

Seemingly Malicious Actions

The usage of social media for celebrities can be very challenging. Used to increase visibility and reach out to the tech-savvy generation, celebrities who use their accounts to express themselves must be prepared for the bashing of rude followers and people who post just for the sake of posting. Hence, many celebrities have opted out and prefer the basher-free life by not having to undergo the torment of having a social media account.

Reacting to social media posts show how much manners netizens have as well. These days, fans can be over protective of their idols to the point that some monitor the accounts of rivals to make sure nothing bad is said about their idols. Sadly, most bashers create multiple accounts that they use for bashing, as they know that whomever they bash can retaliate. After all, celebrities are sentient and sensitive human beings, who can react passionately when someone crosses the line.

While loyal fans are observing closely the social media actions of their idols, others cannot resist making connections concerning the normal actions of social media users. For example, certain fans are linking Network Actress (NA) and Versatile Hunk (VH) based on social media actions.

NA and VH were placed in the cast of a highly anticipated project. As they were often together in the location and workplace, friendship developed between NA and VH. However, fans are not buying that nothing is going on. When NA liked the post of VH that showed his assets, fans immediately assumed that NA’s taste for body shapes has changed. The assumption was pushed further with speculations that NA and VH are talking behind the scenes. In other words, even after tapings have ended, NA and VH would allegedly establish communication.

Even their business investments have been given meaning. NA might be opening a business near VH’s business. This possible nearness of their business ventures has already been subjected to rumors that the two are indeed in a closer relationship.

Fans are making a big deal on these actions of NA and VH. What makes their actions laden with interest is that NA and VH are in relationships with Cute Talent (CT) and Bankable Performer (BP), respectively. Hence, certain normal netizen-actions of NA, such as liking posts or using emojis are noticed and interpreted as disloyalty to CT.

While having social media accounts can be fun, most celebrities can get stressed out by looking at comments of netizens that are most often pulled from air.
