The Self-made Personality (SP) started his career with no connections in the entertainment industry. All he had was the interest to perform and to try his luck. Eventually, his looks were noticed and he was cast in commercials and his timing was perfect. Scouts noticed him and offered him a chance to show his acting talent.
The road was not easy for SP. As soon as he entered the industry, more handsome boys who had the connections came into the picture. Thus, SP had to prove himself. He patiently moved from one role to another and he even tried other aspects of the production when his acting career was going nowhere. Patience and attitude paid off because SP managed to build a strong foundation as the years passed.
Today, SP seems to have fulfilled the dream of any person. He has a stable career, sufficient finances, fewer intrigues, and family support. However, he continues to explore other disciplines to improve himself and explore his potential. SP is not known for flaunting his material wealth and bragging about his acquisitions. However, he has been admired for his impeccable taste for the finer things in life. More importantly, people whose lives he has touched know him too well that he will not make his assistance a publicity stunt.
Yet, these achievements that have shaped SP into the person he is now were not enough to earn him membership to a sought-after organization. Quietly, SP filed his application and paid the hefty fee. He was confident that he would be accepted as member, as he has a reputable standing in public. Unfortunately, the organization turned down his application and returned part of his filing fee. SP did not make a fuss and moved on.
Given his reputation, the question as to why his application was turned down was not directly told to him because such reasoning might be dismissed as a snobbish or even immature one, but one that is totally accepted by the elite. Upon investigation, the approving committee did not like a Close Associate (CA) of SP. Apparently, they found CA to be not within their circle’s classy standards. To avoid further awkwardness, SP’s membership was denied. Not being a member of such a social circle is not really a big loss to SP.
