Just Behave
When Promising Actor (PA) found himself in a pressure-packed project with Controversial Talent (CT), he felt he did not really have anything to lose, but quite a lot to prove. However, the break was overwhelming for a newbie like him then. He played along and tried his best to make sure that after the project, he would be on his way to stardom. He did exactly what was asked from him and his gamble paid off. The project was a hit and a new love team was formed. PA and CT suddenly became important talents of their network.
Fame has advantages and PA realized he could use his popularity to do whatever he wants, which translated to meeting other women whom he fancied. Quietly, he would allegedly meet with female fans who showed motives that they like him. Then, one day, someone squealed in social media and hell almost broke lose as PA was caught.
Predictably, CT was very hurt at the betrayal, as she thought he was loyal to her and their professional partnership. As usual, social media became the platform for cryptic posts that alarmed their fans. The illusion of PA being the boy every girl would want their parents to meet was shattered. CT’s pain was deep and she refused to meet or talk to PA.
To make matters worse, other people close to CT dipped their fingers in the alleged rift and soon, things were getting ugly, as the image of CT and PA were becoming negative. Hence, endorsers started calling the attention of their management teams. Allegedly, their contracts had provisions that they should not be fighting in public, which could affect the brands they were endorsing. If they do not behave, then PA and CT should be ready to pay back their seven-digit talent fees.
The camp of CT got alarmed and started doing damage control. First, people who gave strong opinions against the behavior of PA were called and told to stop. Even CT told someone that he should not meddle. She was quite upset during the call and allegedly even shouted. Tension was indeed up in the air, as the money she earned had already been spent. Being the major breadwinner of her family, her income runs the household and sends her siblings to school. Thus, no endorsement and bad box-office results will affect the family income significantly.
Adding to these concerns is the pressure from the management. With a coming project, much is expected from PA and CT. Then, the producers want a hit to recover the huge amount of money a co-star has been paid. A negative image, such as the two not seeing eye-to-eye, could affect box-office results.
Finally, CT knew what to do and took effort in getting back PA. Of course, this humbling move was a development her camp welcomed, as they know that if PA gets tired of CT, he can be on his own and CT would again start from scratch. The management had a hand in making sure the two are fine. Having positive posts means the brands can relax and be assured of that their endorsers reflect their brand reputation.
Incidentally, according to the grapevine, much of the publicity to drum up interest in PA and CT was according to a plan designed by her camp and her management. PA was always willing and kept quiet whenever surprises would be given to CT. Of course, CT had no idea at all, which made her reactions captured on camera as candid as possible. At this point in their careers, nothing seems stable, even if PA showed remorse in front of the camera. He knows that CT might lose her perks if he decides to stop and move on to other possible partners, and thus, he is aware of the power he has over her career for now.

Just Move Away
After a knee-jerk reaction, the management team decided to work out a feasible solution and turn recent events into an opportunity to develop Gifted Charmer (GC). The management feels that the time is now for GC to position himself as a major star who can stand alone without a loveteam. Thus, the management saw a potential platform in a faux pas that seems to have cost the career of Daring Personality (DP).
As GC is a homegrown talent, the management wants their female stars to be with him in various projects. Such partnerships would pave the way for GC to grow as an artist and to tackle roles that would not encapsulate him in stereotypical cute roles. Besides, the female talents would also have the chance to work with GC without having to worry about being identified with GC. However, management has been very cautious, as the fans of GC and his Reel Lover (RL) are very territorial and ready to bash any other personality that would be linked to either GC or RL.
While fans think that GC and RL can be easily partnered with each other at any time, such is not that easy. GC and RL belong to two different managers and their last project did not perform well as expected. The two might look good together, but this chemistry did not translate to a return in investment. Moreover, the two seems to be distancing themselves from each other. Fans are again highly anticipating when the two can be together, but GC’s team has other things in mind.
With the potential of drawing away RL from GC, management saw the important role of DP. Unfortunately, fans go crazy when RL is seen with DP, and thus the two can only develop their friendship in private, with no phones, cameras, and untrusted people. RL seems happy with her developing relationship with DP to the point that she was the first to greet him personally on his birthday with a private party with close friends. Communication devices were banned, as no one should know that the two are seeing each other.
At the time when the two were seen in a concert, DP and RL seemed to just have been coincidentally seen. However, after the concert, RL allegedly went to the pad of DP for a nightcap. They hung around for a few hours and called it a night. Slowly, the two are getting to know each other, but are extremely mindful not to give the public a hint of their true status.
For now, the management is conditioning fans that GC and RL might not be working soon. This move must be done with sensitivity. Fans can be harsh, as some have threatened to boycott the station and unsubscribe to the network’s international channel if they won’t see GC and RL together. The management is caught between enriching the artistry of GC and adhering to fans. Meanwhile, DP is back to work, as his punishment has been lifted because of his new role in the plan for GC.
