Conned by a Replica
During one occasion, EP probably only had good intentions for wanting to surprise his child with a birthday gift. Knowing that his child wanted a particular type of shoes, EP looked for the shoes, found them, and had the pairs of shoes wrapped. EP was excited as he had already imagined the joy on the face of his child. He rushes off and presents his gift to PP. The child was happy upon receiving what was supposed to be the perfect gift.
In school, the child proudly wore EP’s gift and hinted that the shoes were from daddy. Kids will be kids, and soon, the child was being bullied by the older kids and some poked fun at her shoes. As kids often do not lie and can be very tactless with their remarks, they all ganged up and told the child that the shoes were fake. Embarrassed, the child kept quiet and waited until it was time to go home.
As soon as the child reached home, PP asked what was wrong. After all, she did not want to see her child upset. After prodding, the child narrated the incident at school. PP stopped and thought hard about the gift. EP could not have spent much for a replica. Bothered, PP decided to check out the store that is an authorized and authentic seller of the shoes. When the clerk inspected the pair, he regretfully informed PP that the pair was indeed a replica. PP felt embarrassed as well, but still, she could not believe it that EP would gift their child a fake.

Repost: President Duterte Will Step Down If Any of His Children is Proven Corrupt

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday said he was willing to step down if anyone among his children is proven to be involved in corrupt practices.
Duterte made this vow once again after the name of his son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, came up at a House of Representatives hearing into the P6.4-billion illegal drug shipment from China that was smuggled through the port of Manila.
The controversy triggered separate investigations at the House and the Senate.
“Corruption is really one [thing] I don’t like. Pati 'yung anak ko ngayon sinasali sa Customs (controversy),” Duterte said in a speech at the Philippine Development Forum: Sulong Pilipinas 2017 Wednesday.
“I told you before and I’m telling you now again, kung sino sa mga anak ko ma-involve sa corruption, I will immediately resign,” said the President, who has pursued a fierce campaign against corruption and has fired his own appointees over such allegations.
At a House hearing on Monday, customs broker Mark Taguba mentioned a "Tita Nani" who he supposedly met through a "Davao Group" when lawmakers asked him to name personalities involved in bribery activities at the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
This group, Taguba said, is allegedly backed by a "Vice Mayor." However, he said, those involved could have just resorted to namedropping an official to seal a deal.
In a statement released Tuesday, the President’s son, who felt alluded to, emphasized that Taguba himself admitted that the testimony against him was based on hearsay.
"Taguba admitted that his testimony against me was based entirely on rumors. Why would we entertain or believe a hearsay? One does not dignify lies with a response," he said.
