The emergence of Misdirected Actor (MA) into the local entertainment industry was welcoming, as he immediately showed promise that he would do justice to the family name. MA’s acting was immediately noticed, as he competently portrayed his dramatic roles. His plus factor then, other than his talent, was his good looks. The stance of MA could fit that of a lead or that of the villain. In other words, he had potential to become one of the better actors of his generation.

Unfortunately, things did not go as planned for MA. After establishing a name for himself, MA started to display an attitude that was uncalled for in the industry. The industry values promptness, and time and again, MA would come late on the set. Coming beyond one’s call time will affect the production schedule as well as continuity of script, as scenes originally set for morning might have to be changed to night to accommodate late performers.

One time, he was caught napping on the set. The taping had to pack up because MA was indeed asleep, snoring like a log. Such incidents further fueled speculations that MA was more than tired and his attitude was induced by prohibited substances. As MA was already deep in his project, he could not be replaced. The production had to be patient until MA settled down. Thus, it did not matter if he had more than twenty takes for just one scene because everyone got the hint that MA was not his normal self.

Given that he was in bad shape, as he was gaining weight as well, his projects lessened until time came that MA did not have any project. This situation was different from the time he started, when he had several projects and even an endorsement. The question then was on whether MA would be able recover from his situation or be among talented personalities whose careers were ruined because of certain habits.

However, a major event in MA’s life made him reflect if he should continue to throw away his career. As he realized he needed to be responsible, he became conscious that he has to strive for the better to make sure that he would be able to provide for his future family. Sadly, MA is not a priority of the network anymore, as younger and more responsible talents are being given opportunities. Thus, MA has much to prove to convince the network he has changed and all he wants at the moment is to have a job.
