What's Behind the Glamour

In the entertainment industry, any talent should essentially have a manager or a management team who will devote their time to organize schedules, close deals, and attend to the needs of the said talent. Whenever the said talent has an entourage, which could include makeup artist, stylist, production assistant, among others, these people have to be on the talent’s payroll. Moreover, the practice is that the manager, who is the one who seeks, negotiates, and closes projects, is given a small commission. The problem starts when the talent refuses to release such commission.

To make Indifferent Celebrity (IC) look beautiful and alluring in front of cameras, services of a competent team are needed. IC looks very different without makeup compared to her fully made up face, and some could not recognize her without makeup. To avoid losing time during makeup, IC hired people to make her look good. Then, to assure that her affairs are organized, IC availed of services of professionals who attend to her beck and call. The deal allegedly is that IC should pay the commission of a Professional Practitioner (PP).

After several attempts at getting in touch with IC, PP has reached the highest level of frustration. Apparently, IC has ignored PP. The bottom line is that IC owes people who have served as her support system a substantial amount of money from commissions. While PP was able to talk to IC and agreements were reached concerning the said payment, IC did not keep her word. So frustrated were the unpaid staff, they even attempted to contact and to seek help from the glamorous circle of IC. They were unsuccessful.

Although IC is not in the entertainment industry, she is quite popular in her field that sometimes crosses over showbiz. IC also has endorsements as indicated by publicity materials that show her and rely on her face as the image of their products. Besides, IC comes from a well-known family who is much respected in high society. Given her background, the staff, comprising of ordinary hard workers, wonder why IC could not even keep her word to pay them. Stories have it that IC will soon get married, and yet amidst her preparations, she has opted to be harder than a rock when it comes to paying up. It’s too bad that such a pretty face could be so uncaring and cold to the situation of ordinary folks.

Repost: Car Smashed into Chanel Boutique Windows in Late Night South Kensington Burglary

A car smashed into the front windows of a Chanel Boutique in Brompton Road as part of a burglary, according to reports.

The boutique, sitting on the corner of Brompton Road near South Kensington, had red and white tape across the entire shop with its windows smashed.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that there had been a burglary at a business premises in Brompton Road in the early hours of the morning.

They told Getwestlondon: "Police in Chelsea and Kensington are investigating a burglary at a business premises on Brompton Road, at approximately 03:40hrs on 25 January.

"A car was reported to have driven into a window at the front of the store allowing the suspects to gain entry."

Residents woke up this morning to the sight of the break in.

Brompton Road is home to many designer boutiques and top end restaurants.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

Bold and Risky Defiance for True Love

One of the most difficult rules in the local entertainment industry is separating love and career. Unwritten rules dictate that actors should focus on their partners in their loveteams and play along to make fans interested. A successful loveteam is one that can translate popularity in box-office receipts and ratings, which bring in advertisers to the network.

When a network or a movie producer hits the jackpot with a loveteam, expect rules to tighten for both parties. The first rule is to keep the illusion that they are falling for each other. However, to sustain the interest of the fans, the loveteam should just continue with the chase. Fans become more interested if the idol is reachable, but not exactly attainable. The non-committed idol will always be better than someone who has admitted to being in a relationship. When fans realize their idols are already in relationships, their illusion of having the chance to end up with the idol is diminished. This reaction could then lead to dwindling interest.

Given that producers often decide whom to partner with whom, creating loveteams is often a hit-miss endeavor and costly, especially if the actor has been paired off with other female talents unsuccessfully. Thus, when fans patronize a loveteam, expect restrictions when neither party is really in love with the other.

When the management team warned Hardheaded Actor (HA) to take it easy on his rumored flings and behavior with girls in public, HA could not do anything but follow, as his career was at stake. Thus, whenever fans expressed wishes that HA and his Screen Partner (SP) will end up with each other, both HA and SP would just smile in return. However, the management singled out a Female Talent (FT) as the one HA should avoid at all costs.

Since FT started her career, she has been involved with various controversies that have tarnished her reputation and placed a huge question mark on her being a youth model. In other words, FT, despite her talent and beauty, has had a hard time shaking off the negative image that has resulted from her decisions. Besides, her career track is not parallel to that of SP and there is, at present, a very slim chance for them to end up in a project as a loveteam. Further, the handlers of FT are aware that fans are quite possessive and news or rumors linking FT and HA will only be damaging to her career and the bashing will come in nonstop.

Unfortunately, HA is stubborn and is allegedly still into cherishing FT in his heart, while playing along with what his image dictates with SP. It does not help the situation whenever HA posts statements in his social media accounts that imply defiance of the unwritten rules about falling in love outside of his loveteam. For someone who has been seen in public being chummy with actresses, HA found his match with FT, who is so near, yet so far.

With the passing of days, the next actions of HA will be interesting, as he could pursue love with FT openly and thus defy his handlers, or he could continue his special friendship with her away from the public. Regardless of his choice, choosing his heart will dent his career.

MANILA - Following more than three years as a couple, actor John Lloyd Cruz and "Pangako Sa 'Yo" star Angelica Panganiban have decided to call it quits.

Citing his sources, talent manager Ogie Diaz revealed on his radio program on Radio dzMM that the two broke up last Saturday, January 16.

"Pero they remain friends," added Diaz.

The latest rumors on the split of Cruz and Panganiban have been swirling following reports late last year that the two were spending less time together due to their busy schedules.

Both Cruz and Panganiban recently denied speculations that they have broken up.

It was back in October 2012 that Cruz revealed in a "The Buzz" interview that Panganiban was already his girlfriend.

"It is something na hindi namin ine-expect. Parang bigla na lang saan galing ito, saan galing iyon? Suddenly it's magic. But seriously, iyon talaga ang nangyari," the actor said at the time.

Meanwhile, Diaz also denied the issue that Cruz's "A Second Chance" co-star Bea Alonzo had something to do with the break up.

Citing a common friend of him and Cruz, Diaz said: "He told me na hindi sila ni Bea at hindi niligawan ni John Lloyd si Bea. Sabi pa raw ni John Lloyd, 'hindi naging kami. Kami ni Bea ay magkaibigan lang."
