Just Wait A Little Bit Longer

If the network (TN) does not take notice, several of its top talents might just bolt out of the station. While TN is seemingly resting on the laurels of high ratings and popularity, some talents have realized that TN is not giving them the attention they deserve.
One of these talents is Versatile Actress (VA), who has proven that she could rise above issues that have been thrown at her personal and professional life. When she was starting out, much potential was seen in her, as she could sing, play guitar, and act. Her loveteam became popular as well. However, personal circumstances made her take a break from showbiz, and people thought she would have a hard time coming back.
Surprisingly, VA did manage a comeback to TN, although she had to give way to new talents. Slowly, she regained her slot by reinventing herself. She no longer went back to her cute roles, as she was given more mature and sexier roles. Nonetheless, VA would always play second to the current queen of female talents in TN. Just as when everything seemed stagnant, VA scored a major box-office movie. Within a few weeks, VA started to be noticed again and in the process, VA gained the respect and admiration of the public and the industry.
Now that VA has indeed established a reliable following, producers have started to see her as a bankable talent. Thus, she was given lead roles that paired her with various actors. When VA had one of her movies on its cinema run, she was so disappointed at the lack of support of TN. VA felt that TN was so preoccupied with a phenomenon in media (MP), and thus, she and her movie was left out. She appreciated the support extended by the rival station to her movie.
VA was so disappointed at the lack of effort of TN, and consequently has entertained thoughts of moving. Allegedly, VA has sent feelers to the rival station, where she hopes to be treated better. While several of TN’s talents have moved out, some of them were given projects in the rival station. However, after a couple of good roles, these talents were relegated to the sides, as the station had to prioritize its own talents.
As TN seems too focused on MP, the promotion given to some of the talents has suffered. As a result, some of the seasoned ones are already disgruntled. At these times when celebrity wanna bees are a dime a dozen, TN has a long line of raw talents waiting to be propelled into fame. Moving to another station and starting from scratch will be such a risk and there really is no guarantee that she will get better treatment. Transferees will always be second in line unless they have very influential managers or are taken by powerful movers in their target networks.

Her Attempts at Defiance

Typical of any network contract, Pretty Talent (PT) had to adhere to unspoken rules of the business. First, PT had to behave according to the ideal image fans want their idols to have. In other words, PT had to project that she was the perfect and obedient celebrity. A positive image assures that fans remain loyal and protective, as well as a string of endorsements. Second, PT had to be protective of her love interest. As she has a young career, falling in love is out of the question because fans seem to lose interest when their idols are in a relationship with anyone, but the screen partner.
Like any female growing up, PT has her share of crushes and admirers. However, PT was given restrictions as to whom she should develop closeness with. PT was forbidden to become close with a Fellow Celebrity (FC). Because management teams have different plans for PT and FC, they were not encouraged to see each other privately, and more so, publicly. The decision was to protect both careers.
The decision of their camps should not be a surprise, as managers have been imposing this rule for a long time. Fans are jealous and could become meddlesome if they find out that their idols have other relationships. Somehow, the illusion that an idol is still reachable and available is shattered if he/she has a confirmed relationship. Nonetheless, PT had no choice but to follow the decision.
While all seems well, PT invited Another Personality (AP) for an out of town trip. AP has a crush on PT for such a long time, and thus, he was happy to accompany PT during the trip. With just the two of them alone, the moment was full of potential. Predictably, PT gave in to AP and they had hours of unending passion and bliss until PT was worn out, literally. The open secret is that AP is well gifted.
A moment of panic occurred when PT started to bleed. AP could not rush her to the hospital or any clinic because they will definitely be identified and rumors will surface. Thus, PT called An Actress (AA) for help. AA, having been in the business for a long time has surpassed various issues that have come her way. Instead of reprimanding PT and AP, she offered her place and called on a doctor to look after PT. The question that was never asked was if the tryst was PT’s way of rebelling, as any young adult can feel that restrictions are too suffocating.
