She’s Getting What She Wants from Her Man

After several relationships with partners whom they thought were the ones, Pretty Actress (PA) and Showbiz Scion (SS) found each other. Although PA and SS were once connected to the same network, SS decided that he would rather pursue other worthwhile interests and passion. Meanwhile, PA belongs to those showbiz personalities who possess talent and looks, but not mass appeal. Her projects are good, but do not fare well in the ratings game.
Sometime ago, PA was thought to be marrying her Long-time Boyfriend (LB), but things did not turn out well. Then, rumors started to circulate that her Best Friend actress (BF) whom she was close with was the new woman in LB’s life. While the abruptness seemed peculiar, observers were not surprised as PA and BF seemed to know when to move on. However, just as everything seemed quiet and settled, PA became the alleged subject of social media attacks of BF. The incident led to the belief that PA and BF were not really close after all.
As PA and BF do not really have such big names, their issue died down. Besides, PA did not fire back at BF, which also led to the issue not really being exploited by the entertainment press. The reason for her not getting too involved with the issue is that she was finally settle with SS. SS, who once entered showbiz and had relationships with several actresses, decided that an acting career was not for him, and thus shifted his focus and energy for others.
Because PA does not really have major projects to bank on and probably not enough financial resources, SS has come to her rescue. SS has allegedly rented a house for PA at a six-figure monthly rent in a high-end location south of Manila. Although they belong to the same generation, kibitzers are commenting that SS is a young “sugar daddy” to PA. Perhaps, SS is just preparing for eventually ending up with PA. Nonetheless, SS should assure PA that he would be loyal and not let his family genes get in the way.

Behind the Scenes of the Confrontation Between Semi-Retired Actress and Respected Socialite

Socialite Writer (SW) was invited to a dinner party by a non-showbiz personality. SW was hesitant to attend as someone told her that one of the guests, Semi-Retired Actress (RA), has an issue with her. However, other friends who were invited as well convinced SW to join the party.
When SW saw RA, she approached and tried to give her a kiss on the cheek. RA was so cold and pretended nothing happened. As the party progressed, SW managed to talk to Another Guest (AG), who told her that RA was indeed mad at SW. Apparently, RA believes that it was SW who gave the telephone number of her partner's Legal Wife (LW) to her Controversial Kin (CK).
To make matters worse, other family members confirmed to RA that it was indeed SW who gave the phone number of LW to CK. As RA and CK had a falling out, CK went out of her way to make a phone call to LW to destroy RA. As to what CK exactly told LW, no one really knows for sure at the moment.
After dinner, SW again approached RA to say goodbye to her. Unexpectedly, RA pushed SW away, which the other guests saw. Keeping her composure, SW ignored the incident and walked away. However, she did tell AG what happened. Feeling puzzled, SW later sent a message to RA, “Why did you push me?” RA responded by calling her and yapped at the top of her voice. RA began with “Why did you give LW's number to CK?” Of course, SW denied such accusation and replied that CK could have obtained the number from other sources.
However, the issue of RA did not stop there, as she has another issue that was more touchy than CK. RA questioned why SW included LW in a certain publication. SW replied that she was not the only one who had to decide on who was included. Moreover, LW is still the spouse, and that concept of the publication had something to do with spouses. RA retorted with, “Then, I will make my own book from the point of view of the mistresses!”
As the discussion was not getting anywhere and it was already early in the morning, SW begged off, but RA continued to talk, talk, and talk. Finally, SW said that she was very sleepy. RA was still energetic and started taunting SW that she was left by her husband repeatedly. Tired and piqued, SW said, “I have accepted that. I have moved on. At least, I am not a QUERIDA!” And the line went dead.

Statement of FashionPulis on the TV Patrol Libel Report
August 11, 2015 marks a significant day in FashionPulis. The issue of libel is part of the life of anyone who is actively involved in media. With the proliferation of blogging as a means to bring the truth and opinions on social issues and entertainment, a blogger has to balance his/her act.
As a democratic country, freedom of speech is a right enjoyed by every citizen. However, our country is still one of the few that consider libel a crime. When someone is accused of libel, he or she can be arrested, detained, and jailed if proven that the article/story has malicious intentions to malign the aggrieved party. One has to undergo the process and trust that justice is blind.
Top journalists, entertainment writers, broadsheets, and networks have been sued for libel for articles/stories that some parties have deemed offensive. Most of these cases drag for years unless settlement has been done by parties early. Sometimes, these cases are dismissed regardless of the duration of hearings.
Sadly, the libel law along with other similar laws is being used to attempt to silence journalists and others engaged in similar professions. Noted writer, Isagani Cruz states, “Even more unfortunately for us Filipinos, however, a libel charge does not have to be justified in order to make journalists tremble in fear.” With libel laws hovering in the midst of media practitioners, still, truth and opinion must prevail. Although, once in a while, a media practioner may stumble, he/she will rise again because the message must be told. The audience awaits and silence out of fear should never prevail.
