Opening the Pandora's Box
TV Personality TP is in such a quandary at this point, definitely not knowing what hit him. TP’s involvement in the story is by far the biggest scandal ever, the biggest blow to hit anyone of his stature.
From the very beginning, TP has been a big mystery to most. For a while…at least to his colleagues or followers…there were loud and malicious whispers about his marital status which TP allegedly hides with all his might. Apart from that are his alleged sexual exploits which reportedly leave much to be desired.
The Pandora’s box was accidentally opened and spilled a huge detail of TP’s well-guarded circumstance. Yet it looks like everything is just the tip of the iceberg.
According to the grapevine, someone is in possession of TP’s alleged sex video that will end all video scandals combined. The said video shows TP in a very compromising position passionately giving head to his male partner.
In a few days or weeks, the public might just be in for the most horrifying spectacle ever, a scandal of no equal to happen in Philippine showbiz history yet.

Letter from a Reader: Questions Raised on the recent Mr. and Miss Chinatown Philippines 2014
In one of the websites I read, it said: “ The pageant aims to serve as a unifying event for Filipino-Chinese communities that will open doorways to working together towards better business, cultural & artistic goals and to celebrate and show the diversity of beauty in the Filipino-Chinese culture. “
However, I believe that the organizers failed to achieve the pageant’s purpose as a ”unifying” event. Let me share with you and your readers a few observations about the recently-concluded pageant.
I share the sentiments of most of the viewers who believe that there was unfair judgment both in the male and female contestants. There were just so many questions that needed answers. What went wrong?
First, from among the top 5 chosen female candidates: Tola Orendain, Chelsea Robato
Christine Grace Co, Felina Lim and Nicole Cordoves.
How could they have overlooked the attributes of more deserving candidates over the proclaimed winners? To be honest, the special awards won by some candidates raised some eyebrows, and we can’t blame them.

Compare that with one who did less and failed miserably in the Q&A, yet brought home a major title.
When the hosts finally announced the winners, you could hear the collective sighs from the crowd, wondering out loud what happened.
Of the male candidates, what was the justification for a candidate who went very shallow in the Q&A , citing Justin Bieber as his idol (that really baffled people in the audience), then went home with the title! Seriously?

I can go on and on, but the gist of this letter lies in the credibility of the selection process. It is the responsibility of the pageant organizers to see to it that the both the contenders, as well as the viewing public are not shortchanged.
This pageant is just starting to gain esteem because of its principle and objective as a whole, but it is sad that its credibility be marred by questionable decisions like this. I am sure that the organizers already know how the people feel about the whole thing.
We hope that next year will be a different one altogether, because if not, then Mr. and Miss Chinatown defeats the purpose of its being.
Thank you, Fashion Pulis for giving me a space to your well-read blog. God bless us!
Sincerely,
Elsa

Smart Infinity, the premium postpaid brand of wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc.

“Just like the successful local runs of other world-class stage spectacles ‘Cats,’ ‘Mamma Mia,’ ‘The Phantom of the Opera,’ and ‘Wicked,’ bringing ‘Chicago’ to the Philippines is again a very special gift for our subscribers,” said Julie Carceller, Department Head of the Smart Infinity Business Group at Smart.
“Aside from allowing Smart Infinity to keep its unmatched tradition of bringing over all the world-class, must-watch musicals, it also gives us the opportunity to provide not only the best mobile service but also the most delightful experiences to our subscribers,” added Carceller.
To complete the ‘Chicago’ experience, a suite of special-edition ‘Infinity Music Plans’ will be offered by Smart Infinity. The Infinity Music Plan 3500 comes with two complimentary orchestra VIP tickets to ‘Chicago,’ along with two Misfit Shine fitness tracking gadgets, one ‘Chicago’ album and 30 songs monthly to go with the call, text and data subscription already bundled with the plan.
Meanwhile, Plan 5000 comes with either a Samsung S5 or iPhone 5s, two orchestra VIP tickets, a ‘Chicago’ album, and 30 songs monthly along with call, text and data. Finally, Plan 8000 provides a free Macbook Air, two orchestra VIP tickets, a ‘Chicago’ album, and 30 songs.
“We are thrilled to introduce Broadway’s killer hit ‘Chicago’ with our newest array of Infinity Music Plans. This continues our commitment to re-invent the premium mobile lifestyle with the most rewarding experiences to complement Infinity’s VIP network and renowned aftersales services,” said James Chi, marketing manager at Smart Infinity.
‘Razzle Dazzle,’ finally on local stage
Based on a 1926 play of the same name written by Maurine Watkins, ‘Chicago’ is the Tony Award-winning production that gave the Broadway world hits like ‘All That Jazz,’ ‘Razzle Dazzle,’ ‘Cell Block Tango,’ ‘Mr. Cellophane’ and ‘Nowadays’.
Watkins, a reporter, wrote the play inspired by real crimes she covered during Prohibition-era Chicago. Music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb turned the play into a musical in 1975.
The 1996 Broadway revival of ‘Chicago’ holds the record for the longest-running revival and longest-running American musical in Broadway history, with 7,300 performances in a span of nearly 15 years.
The musical follows the characters of aspiring vaudevillian Roxie Hart and seasoned vaudevillian Velma Kelly and the murders they committed in the 1920s.
In mainstream Hollywood, the role of Velma gave Catherine Zeta-Jones an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in the 2002 Rob Marshall-helmed film version, which was also named that year’s Best Picture. Renee Zellwegger earned a Best Actress nod as Roxie, while John C. Riley (as Amos Hart) was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category. Richard Gere, who played Billy Flynn, won a Golden Globe Best Actor for his portrayal of the deceptive lawyer of Roxie who turns his clients into celebrities to win public support.
‘Chicago,’ featuring its London All star american cast, will run from December 2 to 21, 2014 at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City.
‘Chicago’ is presented in Manila by VISA and Smart Infinity, in cooperation with Solaire Resort and Casino. Individuals interested in enjoying ‘Chicago’ and the premium Smart Infinity experience may contact 8488806 or infinitysupport@smart.com.ph. They can also visit www.smart.com.ph/infinity.

Her Overbearing Kin
Recently, people have noticed that the mother (TM) of a rising teenage actress (RA) is starting to throw her weight around. During one of the out of town appearances of RA up north, people noticed that TM was extra moody, which made people feel that TM was feeling the power of being the mother of one of the hottest stars these days. To show how powerful she thinks she is, she called the city mayor and requested for the car coding to be lifted for them. Upon calling, TM said, “Mama ito ni -----, paki-lift ho ang coding para diretso na po kami sa hotel.” While RA is projecting a very positive image, TM is showing otherwise.
Moreover, TM is indicating signs of overprotecting RA. TM refused to have RA eat at a buffet, and insisted that the buffet will only make RA fat. While RA seems to know how to cope and to play along with the demands of showbiz, TM is allegedly on the contradicting path. Some could not help but comment that TM seems to want fame that has been accorded to the notorious parent (NP) of love struck famous singer actress.
As time passes, RA is proving to be the next important talent of her network, and this role entails much pressure, which includes pleasing fans by being chummy with a hot teen actor. Will TM take the cue from NP by overprotecting her daughter, including guarding her from teen actor, and taking advantage of her daughter's popularity?
