Destined to Crash

The much-talked about love affair between Ladies' Man LM and Sexy Girl SG had sent tonques wagging predicting that it is doomed from day one. But LM and SG were sure as hell that theirs was something unique and special, and were quite proud of it.

Well, cynics sure know where they were coming from - both LM and SG's personal love history leaves much to be desired.

But LM and SG were determined to prove their detractors wrong – they felt they were destined for each other. But some friends of theirs expressed concern that it must be really wrong – judging from the circumstances they got entangled in in the past. Yet, some chose to give the couple the benefit of the doubt.

To be fair, LM and SG did walk the talk at the start - their relationship began as kind of unique, special and sweet, each one hoping it would be for keeps. But for one to achieve such means each partner must commit to work at it seriously.

But no one knows for sure. And so it came to pass. The whirlwind affair is now gone, kaput, nada – never to resurrect again.

What could have triggered the split? Have they finally realized that it was not worth taking the risk after all? Didn't it seem like yesterday when both proclaimed they would make it work?

Heard from the grapevine that LM caught SG's gym instructor/trainer in her house – not just once, but twice. The first time was patched up - SG explained, LM forgave. But the second time was entirely different. LM saw the same guy coming out of SG's bedroom.

Confrontation ensued. Unable to restrain himself, LM flared up – curses thrown, angry words.

Said she, " Bakit ikaw? Di ba you're f****n (censored) also? "

What goes around, comes around. Takes one to know one.

End of story. End of affair.

Letter from a Reader: A Bully Pastor's Family

Dear Fashion PULIS,

Hi Mr. Lim. I know your blog has been the voice of some people who experience unfortunate situations. I am writing to share with your readers the horrible experience I and my daughter had a few weeks ago.

My mother, myself and my 5-year-old daughter were in a Kiddie Pen KP inside a major mall last Sept 13, 2013 at 3pm. We left my daughter there so we could do some groceries. It was not the first time that I brought my daughter there, as it has been my practice to bring her there whenever I'd be in a hurry to do some errands so she could play and would be safe - until that fateful day.

While my mother and I were in the grocery, I didn't know that my daughter was being bullied, hurt, kicked in the head and chest by a big 7-year-old boy inside KP. We learned about this when we went back to pick her up. My daughter immediately told me that she was hurt by that boy. I confronted the caretakers of KP and was told that the boy is a regular customer and that he is unruly and hurts everyone there while his Lola and Lolo just watch.

I asked them for that boy's phone number and I called his guardian. The Lola who answered me tried to call the boy's Lolo but he refused to take the call. I ended up talking to the grandmother. I told her what happened in KP, but her reply shocked me: " In the event that your daughter dies, you just go and sue us. "

I was outraged! I did not expect such words coming from an elderly woman.

By Saturday morning, a day after the KP incident, my daughter started having fever and was vomiting. I rushed her to the hospital. Until the 8th day of her confinement, she was still having high fever. I could not have her checked by a neurologist because my medical insurance does not cover it.

My daughter's hospital confinement lasted 10 days. She has trauma and was asked to see a child psychiatrist. I am very worried.

I learned later on that the boy's grandfather is a Pastor and founder of a born again church affiliated with a big congregation. This congregation has a program that airs regularly on television and has a popular showbiz couple as one of its active members along with other celebrities.

I tried to reach out by calling them, leaving messages on facebook but these people are not responding. I am now at my wit's end. I was told that this Pastor and his family are untouchables.

This is the reason I am writing to you, FP. I want to expose how inhuman this Pastor and his family are.

May this be a warning to mothers and child guardians out there not to leave their children in paid playgrounds or playpen - caretakers/staff there can never be relied upon. Bullies are everywhere and our children's safety should always be foremost.

Thank you, Mr. Lim. God Bless you.

Sincerely,

Ms. Sol

Toni Gonzaga and Charlene Gonzales Bid Farewell to 'The Buzz'

Regular viewers of “The Buzz” were surprised when the show announced in its Sunday episode that it was the last appearance of Toni Gonzaga and Charlene Gonzales as hosts on the top-rating show.

Before the showbiz talk show ended, a video was shown tracing the journey of how “The Buzz” started up to the time when Gonzaga and Gonzales became part of it.

Voiced over by long-time "The Buzz" host Boy Abunda, he thanked the viewers for keeping the show number one for almost 15 years even when it had a number of changes in terms of hosts and format.

After the video, Gonzales and Gonzaga then said their goodbyes after joining Abunda as the show’s hosts for over three years.

It was not disclosed why Gonzales and Gonzaga are leaving the show. But in the video's voiceover, Abunda hinted about changes in the show.

"Sa inyong walang patid na pagsubaybay, sa inyong walang sawang pagsuporta at sa patuloy naming pagbibigay serbisyo, kasama kayo sa isang panibagong simula," Abunda said in the voiceover.

"Kasali kayo sa pagbubukas ng isang bagong kabanata, mas malawak, mas malaki. Pakikinggan, paguusapan at pakikialaman. Ito ang pagbabagong kakapitan, pagbabagong tatatak sa puso at isipan. Ito ang inyong ‘The Buzz,’" he said.

Gonzales took the opportunity to thank both Gonzaga and Abunda for the wonderful journey that they have shared.

“I just want to say thank you sa 'Buzz' family, sa lahat ng bumubuo ng 'Buzz,' it was a wonderful journey. It was a privilege and honor to be able to share the stage with two of the greatest artists in the industry – Toni Gonzaga and Boy Abunda,” she said.

“Isa rin sa mga reasons kung bakit ko tinanggap ang show na ito is because I want to work with the greats like the both of you. I would say that one of the best gifts that I received from this show was the friendship of you Boy and Toni. Mula sa puso ko maraming maraming salamat,” she added.

Gonzaga, for her part, said she will always look up to Abunda and Gonzales even though they won’t be working with each other every Sunday anymore, adding that she has learned a lot from them about life and career.

“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa Talk Unit for this wonderful opportunity, for letting me be a part of a show like 'The Buzz.' Maraming salamat din kay Tito Boy, he is the most generous person na nakilala ko sa industriyang ito. Hindi po nagsasawang ibahagi sa amin ang nalalaman niya sa industriya, I learned so much from him. Ate Charlene, I will always look up to you as a mom and as a wife. I have so much respect for the both of you,” she said.

Saying she doesn’t believe in goodbyes, Gonzaga said: “I believe that goodbyes don’t really mean that it’s the end or tapos na ang lahat. It just means na 'yung pamamaalam namin sa hapon na ito ay I’ll see you again. I will miss all of you.”

Enjoying Life to the Fullest

This Powerful Personality PP is suspected to have unexplained wealth. PP's lifestyle and that of his family's have been under scrutiny and are often topics of secret conversations among his friends and foes alike. Obviously, he and his family wallow in lavish luxury.

But in a world where like-minded people thrive, opulent living is always a given – and expected. It is no longer news when we hear of anyone ‘ throwing’ away somebody else's money with impunity. But the manner by which these are carried out is what makes the difference.

Certainly, PP is nowhere near circumspect when conducting himself in public, regardless who is with him. Savoring the fruits of his "harvest" from his lucrative deals, PP savors every moment spent with his family when he accompanies them shopping especially when abroad. He gives in to all their desires - sky's the limit - shop till they literally drop.
People who saw him shopped at one time were scandalized seeing how PP and his children HC reportedly almost emptied the shelves of a high-end store of the most pricey signature brands. They shopped mindlessly as if there was no tomorrow - getting everything and anything that looked cool to their eyes, as if every item was free.

HC, who all grew up not knowing want and deprivation were allegedly made to feel that money is, and will never be their problem. People who often see how HC conduct themselves in public label them as a bunch of brats who are oozing with arrogance. On their social media accounts, they proudly display pictures of their luxurious finds and their lifestyle.

Until one day, one HC suddenly deleted all his IG posts and photos detailing all his expensive stuff and shopping adventures. Turns out he did so because he needed to pursue something professionally. Uh oh …seems like he is smarter than his elders.

Willie Revillame in Tears as Show Goes off Air

TV host Willie Revillame turned emotional Saturday during the live telecast of "Wowowillie," as curtains closed for the controversy-fraught noontime program after seven months on air.

Speaking with the live audience, Revillame recalled the different iterations of his variety shows -- the primetime offerings "Willing Willie" and "Wiltime Bigtime" -- which preceded this latest revamp as "Wowowillie."

"Galing 'no? Dalawang programa na 'yan na nagbibigay ng saya, at ito 'yung panghuli, at ito 'yung magbababa-bye na ngayong araw na 'to," Revillame said.

Addressing the TV5 management, he continued, "Medyo mag-o-overtime. Nakikiusap lang ako, for the last chance, huling araw na ho namin. Huwag niyo muna kami putulin, para naman po 'yung samabayanan, makita nila 'yung pinagsamahan nating programa."

A montage of contestants' winning moments and Revillame's interaction with his fans was then shown. This included scenes dating back to his debut as a TV5 host.

The trouble with hosting

Revillame transferred to the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned network in 2010, after the controversial end of his five-year program with ABS-CBN, "Wowowee."

His first TV5 show, "Willing Willie," similarly drew controversies, among them involving allegations of child abuse when a 6-year-old contestant was supposedly made to perform as a "macho dancer."

The controversy, which involved advertisers pulling out from the show, prompted Revillame to announce it would go on hiatus. A month later, it resumed as the reformatted "Wiltime Bigtime."

Yet another revamp as "Wowowillie" marked the program's transfer to a noontime slot in January this year.

"Tatlong programa po na nagbigay talaga ng saya sa inyong lahat," Revillame said on Saturday. "I'll be honest with you. Hindi ako nagsisinungaling sa inyo, alam niyo pagkatao ko, nagkakamali ako, naggalit ako sa TV, lahat, dahil hindi po ako pwede maging hipokrito sa inyong lahat. Kung ano po 'yung pagkatao ko, pinapakita ko."

"Intindihin niyo nalang ako, dahil lagi naming iniisip po ay kayo. Lagi namin pong iniisip ay kayo. Dala-dala po namin iyon araw-araw," he said.

Revillame went on to relate the difficulties of hosting a daily variety show live, which he said entails keeping up energy and an all-smiles front despite having personal problems to deal with.

Emotional Willie

He then proceeded to sing some of the hit songs popularized on his program. While singing "Ikaw na Nga," Revillame cried with his voice breaking.

Proceeding with his farewell speech, Revillame thanking several officials and executives of TV5 for allowing him to continue his program over the past three years. He also thanked former Sen. Manny Villar, who was in the audience, for being a partner in giving away some 28 houses as contest prizes.

Not goodbye after all?

Revillame proceeded to thank the behind-the-scenes staff of "Wowowillie," as well as his female co-hosts who appeared to be in tears as he gave his speech.

He also mentioned former co-hosts Ethel Booba and Ate Gay, who quit the program after Revillame went on an on-air tirade in March criticizing them for supposedly being disrespectful toward him.

"Ako po ay taong hindi nagtatanim ng galit kahit kanino. Ako po 'yung taong wala sa akin 'yung hatred, 'yung bitterness, wala po sa akin 'yon," he said.

After showing another montage showing the entire "Wowowillie" crew waving goodbye, Revillame told the audience, "Wala ho ako dito kung wala kayong lahat. Kayo pong lahat ang nagbigay sa akin nito, kayo pong lahat ang nagdala sa akin dito."

Although he had previously announced the end of the program to mark his retirement, Revillame appeared to sing a different tune in his closing statements on Saturday.

"Sarado na po ang 'Wowowillie.' May bubuksan para sa magandang pag-asa at magandang buhay. Abangan niyo po 'yan... Wala pang kumakausap sa akin," he quipped, laughing. "Kung may kakausap, pag-iisipan."

"Salamat! I will return!" he said.
