Personal Refinement 101

It appeared that early on, RA already showed her true colors that made the company do a turnaround. Reportedly, RA had primadona attitude and refused to attend company events just because she didn’t like going. Company executives reportedly remarked, “What company would put up with such attitude?"
Then again, there’s the story when RA was hired to perform in a big corporate event. For a huge talent fee, she was contracted for a song and dance number. After that number, some company employees went up to her on stage for the usual picture - taking. What happened next shocked everyone who heard RA remarked, “PI naman, huh! Sige na nga!”
All those present were speechless for a while. Employees and guests were so flabbergasted they could not believe their ears that RA really uttered those words. What’s more, company officials have heard of similar stories about RA in the past, yet they still gave her the benefit of the doubt because they really wanted to get her – and even paid her a big talent fee for such.
But after witnessing for themselves the said incident, they swore never to hire RA ever again.
Followers of RA believe that all these and a bunch of yet untold stories about RA’s public manners or lack of it make for valid points for her handlers to seriously consider honing her personality and image - if they intend to make her really last in the industry.

Was Raymond Gutierrez Booed in the Pork Barrel Protest Rally "Million People March?"
The throngs of people who gathered at the Luneta for the "Million People March" in protest over the pork barrel funds scandal have more than justified the public's collective outrage over the public officials' abuse of the people's money. The pork barrel fund scandal, so obscene and monumental in scope have stirred the wrath of even the most quiet and unfeeling of Filipinos.
All the names involved with the alleged scam queen, Janet Lim Napoles have been publicly maligned, and humiliated and "stoned" heavily via social media. The call for the abolition of the pork barrel was the very purpose of the rally as instigated by the outraged Filipino netizens.
Despite the uncertain weather, thousands have trooped to the Luneta and everywhere across the country early morning of August 26, to express their strong objection and indignation towards the pork barrel and to the senators and congressmen suspected to be in cahoots with Napoles.
As the scandal story unfolds everyday with shocking revelations each time, more names were added to have reportedly helped in the rape of the nation's coffers. Among them are not politicians but are public figures, nonetheless. Allegedly, celebrities tv host Raymond Gutierrez and model Borgy Manotoc, as well as Sen. Bong Revilla's son, Leonard Bryan are business partners to a Napoles son.
The mid-morning rally was also attended by several showbiz names, among them - Jim Paredes, Juana Change or Mae Paner, Gloria Diaz, Pen Medina, Tado, Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez and Bianca Gonzales who were spotted mingling with the crowd.
Fashion designer Rajo Laurel was also there, along with his friends Raymond Gutierrez, Isabelle Daza and Georgina Wilson. There were reports saying that Raymond was allegedly booed by the angry crowd, obviously questioning his presence in the protest rally. With former Chief Justice Corona suffering the same fate, perhaps Raymond and Corona can find comfort in each other.

Janine Tugonon to Stay in US for Good
Source: www.abs-cbnnews.com
Almost a year after her reign as the Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up, Janine Tugonon will soon leave for the United States and stay there for good.
“I’m going to the States in September. I’m studying there. Babalik pa naman ako every now and then for some events and for some contracts that I have here. But, yes, I’m moving there for good,” she said in an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday.
The beauty queen said she wants to oursue her dream, especially now that it is within her reach.
“Kasi ever since I really wanted to study abroad. This time, there’s an opportunity na talaga and I can study na talaga. I want to,” she said.
Meanwhile, Tugonon denied reports that she is in a relationship with actor Benjamin Alves after they have been spotted together numerous times in public.
Tugonon maintained she and Alves are just friends and there is nothing romantic going on between them.
“Hindi ko po siya boyfriend. We are not even dating. People saw us at Cinemalaya and they said it was a date. I was with Jonas (Gauffud, her manager) and Cheska (a friend) that night. It was the four of us. Benjamin is a very good friend of mine. We go to the same church. We eat after church with our other friends,” she said.
In a separate interview, the 24-year-old actor, in a report published on the entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal, said he is currently "going out" with the beauty queen.
"I say we go out, wala namang masama doon porke't artista kami," said Alves. "Para namang big deal kung lumabas kaming dalawa. If we were 15 [years old], then that could be a big deal. We're of age naman na."
Both Tugonon and Alves are under the management of the talent agency Mercator.
Tugonon maintained that she does not have a love life as of the moment.
Breakup with Jaypee
In the same interview on "The Buzz," the beauty queen also addressed questions concerning her previous relationship with Jaypee Santos.
Tugonon made headlines last April when she broke up with Santos and admitted on national television that she got attracted with The Script vocalist Danny O'Donoghue.
“I kept quiet during that time. There’s nothing I can say that can actually change what people think kasi it’s already set in their mind. Parang ako, I think it’s better na tumahimik muna,” she said.
Tugonon said she waited for the right time to finally explain what happened.
“I think I was misunderstood. Parang iba 'yung na-perceive nung tao, [that I dumped Jaypee without mercy]. There’s a bigger story behind that breakup,” she said. “I want to keep it private as much as possible but hindi lang 'yung The Script issue. It’s more than that. [The breakup] was a mutual decision.”
“I admit I was at fault because of what happened. The ‘Kris TV’ interview, it was my fault. But the breakup, kaming dalawa ang involved doon eh. May dahilan pa. Before the concert, before everything popped out, hindi lang iyon ang story,” she added.
Tugonon, however, admitted that O'Donoghue was indeed one of the reasons why they called it quits.
“Of course, I admit I got attracted. I said that on ‘Kris TV.’ Who wouldn’t? I love the band, I love their music a lot. I got attracted. Yes, nagselos [si Jaypee]. I think one of the reasons (iyon) but hindi iyon ang main reason,” she said.
Tugonon also emphasized that O’Donoghue did not court her.
“Natawa ako sa issue na we are dating. Unang una, how can it happen, he’s in the other side of the world? I think we just talked. Of course, I admit I got attracted. But no, [hindi nanligaw],” she said.

Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc. (Digitel) through its mobile brand Sun Cellular (Sun), and Smart subsidiary Voyager Innovations, Inc. (Voyager) announced a strategic partnership with Waze (waze.com) to expand local awareness of the crowdsourced navigation app and help Philippines drivers save time on every drive. The wireless services companies, part of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) [NYSE:PHI], will be the first Philippine mobile operator partners of the social navigation pioneer.
Waze combines GPS navigation technology with social networking, enabling users to swiftly identify the fastest and most efficient map routes. Millions of Waze drivers enable the service to adjust its reports in real time, based on constantly changing road conditions such as heavy traffic or accidents.
Through this partnership, the companies will encourage further expansion of Waze usage in the Philippines through a marketing, promotion and distribution agreement to Smart and Sun’s more than 73.4 million subscribers.
In addition to special promotions, Smart and Sun will pre-install the Waze application on smartphones bundled under its commercial postpaid and prepaid offerings. The Waze Philippines map will display Smart- and Sun-branded retail pins to help extend both companies’ customer service.
Voyager will serve as a critical partner, working with Waze for technology integration and exchange of map data for both Smart and Sun.
“Waze is one of the most innovative and fast-rising mobile apps in the world and we’re proud to make this available to our subscribers. With our fast-growing smartphone subscriber base, Waze is an exciting addition to the growing number of Smart and Sun’s leading global mobile apps partners,” said Orlando B. Vea, Chief Wireless Advisor, Smartand president of Digitel.
“Waze provides real-time and community-based information to make navigating traffic easier, allowing users to better make use of their time to live more. It is especially useful in the high-traffic areas of the country’s major cities and has a growing user base in the Philippines. This partnership is mutually beneficial to all parties – with our subscribers enjoying a world-class mobile app and with Waze having access to the biggest share of the Philippine mobile services market.” said Charles A. Lim, EVP and Head, Consumer Wireless Business Group for Smart and Sun.
“Voyager is bringing Waze, a leading crowd-sourced mapping and traffic information app experience to the Philippines. By downloading the app, users can gain access to a rich navigation experience thru the mobile phone - no need for another gadget. It is just the beginning-- we are bringing more of these innovative services to enrich everyday life,” said Jose Benjamin S. Fernandez, Chief Operating Officer, Voyager.
Early this year, Waze was recognized as Best Overall App at the Global Mobile Awards 2013 in Barcelona, Spain. With the Philippines as one of the fast-growing smartphone markets in Southeast Asia, mobile apps and data usage is on the rise. From Switzerland to Saudi Arabia, Filipinos Protest Pork Barrel, too
Source: www.inquirer.net
From one of the world’s major centers of international diplomacy, Geneva, to the deserts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, migrant Filipinos are making their voices heard.
By simply posting protest photos on Facebook or holding their own “picnic” to coincide with the nationwide march Monday in the Philippines, overseas Filipinos express their indignation over the alleged massive misuse of taxpayers’ money in Congress.
Junar Elmedo, supervisor and trainer at Crane and Heavy Equipment Operator, posed with fellow Filipinos at a construction site in Dammam, Saudi Arabia to protest the pork barrel fund.
“Even through that photograph we’d like to show our opposition and demand to abolish the pork barrel,” Elmedo told INQUIRER.net, explaining that holding protest actions is banned in the Islamic kingdom

Almer Casio of the Facebook group Filipino Friends In Saudi Arabia posted a photo too of placard-bearing Filipinos in Riyadh.
“As a show of support of our compatriots in Saudi for the widespread call to junk the pork barrel,” the caption of the photograph read.

In Bangkok, Thailand, a group of about 25 Filipinos turned what was initially planned to be a welcome party to a gathering to demand for the abolition of the pork barrel system, the arrest, prosecution and conviction of alleged pork barrel scam brains Janet Napoles and her accomplices, and the passage of the Freedom of Information Act that will enable citizens to engage and ensure accountable governance.
“We demand justice for Filipinos who have been duped of their money, especially poor Filipinos who, in fact, are the majority of taxpayers, paying indirect taxes and allocating a big percentage of their meagre incomes for the cost of public services. They have been robbed of the chance to lift themselves out of poverty,” Lan Mercado told INQUIRER.net.
The Bangkok-based Filipinos expressed their disgust over “the failure of those in power to address the bane of corruption. We are dissatisfied with President Benigno Aquino’s lack of decisive leadership to resolve the massive misuse of public funds through the pork barrel system.”
