Some celebrities take advantage of this opportunity, sometimes resorting to maneuvering just so they could put one over the other.
Mother and daughter went to a seller of a well-known brand of jewelry. Mother Actress MA told the Seller SE that she liked a particular Jewelry Set JS and was interested to buy. She then asked SE if she could borrow the JS for two weeks for a “road test.” Although feeling doubtful, SE agreed.
After two weeks, SE made follow-up with MA if she had already decided on buying JS. MA who said that she had forgotten to bring it, promised to get back to SE soonest - but she never did. The following week, SE made another follow up – and again, MA gave her the runaround.
At this point, SE was already becoming paranoid and nervous. After almost a month of more pressured follow up, MA finally relented and returned the jewelry to a very relieved SE - but not without MA saying that she did not like JS and was no longer buying it. Although quite disappointed by the failed transaction, SE deemed it best to have JS back in her possession knowing the risk involved in dealing with people like MA.
It was clear with SE that she was just hoodwinked by MA. It appeared that MA duped her - pretending to buy but did not, and instead “owned” and used JS for weeks - for free.
And true enough, after only a few weeks – lo and behold! SE saw MA’s photos in a company catalogue - proudly wearing her jewelry set!
Moral of the story: Trust your instincts, not some people.

Simon Cowell is desperately trying to maintain a dignified silence after it was revealed he’s fathered a lovechild with his best friend’s wife.
Cowell and his alleged betrayed pal Andrew Silverman have decided to keep quiet in hope the mass hysteria will blow over, sources say.
The media mogul's pregnant lover Lauren - and those close to her - have been criticised for attempting to smear her husband’s name to draw attention away from her serious indiscretions.
A source told Mirror exclusively: “Simon and Andrew certainly have their differences right now but they are trying to deal with the situation like adults.
"They hope eventually it will die down but people close to Lauren refuse to stop their pathetic attempts of dragging Andrew’s name through dirt."
Sources in the US went as far as branding the 37-year-old socialite as a “total nightmare” as divorce papers name 53-year-old Cowell for adultery.
A settlement could come as early as this week and Lauren is expected to take less than the $4 million set out in the prenup.
Bernard Clair, one of Lauren’s lawyers, hit back at the accusations and told the New York Post: “These cheap shots aimed at Lauren and her family by people who believe they are supporting Andrew serve only to sabotage ongoing efforts by our client and her husband to settle this matter.
"We and Lauren continue to be committed to resolving this matter privately and amicably.”
Cowell has not seen her for a month already and it could now be weeks until they are reunited. That means he will miss her first baby scan at 12 weeks which is only days away.
But Lauren’s not the only woman he is steering clear of.
The 53-year-old music mogul will go on holiday to the South of France without any of his usual “harem” as he tries to deal with the fallout over his affair and the US socialite’s pregnancy.
And friends are becoming increasingly concerned he is cracking under the pressure of impending fatherhood and the bitter Silverman divorce fight that could see him in court, after Andrew, 37, named him in legal papers over the fling with his wife.
Cowell has been ordered by his lawyer Marty Singer to “keep his head down” until the furore fizzles out.
The talent judge spent Saturday night at a One Direction gig in Las Vegas, where the boys ribbed him about his affair and baby – to which he replied: “Do as I say boys, not as I do.”
The TV star is also concerned the affair and pregnancy saga could jeopardise his lucrative endorsement deals in the US, most notably a contract with Pepsi reportedly worth £35million.
A source said: “Simon just wants this whole sorry mess to be sorted out and gone away. If he could turn back time he would. Those around him are getting increasingly worried about him.”

Other than her fashion sense, VB has earned the ire of people for her “let me force my way in” habit of conducting ambush interviews especially with good-looking international celebrities during their arrivals at the airport. She would have her picture taken with these foreign celebrities and post the photos immediately on her social networking account to show off her scoop. At one point, even without an invitation, she inched her way to interview an international actor, whose arrival procedure was covered with exclusivity to which VB’s network was not part of. Her network had to reprimand her for crossing the line.
Listeners to her radio shows are familiar with how she always makes it a habit to stress where she studied in college, as if bragging to her viewers and listeners that she belongs to an elite breed of scholars. Unknowingly, this attitude of hers has alienated a number of listeners.
Thus, when she bragged about that she and FI made out, it no longer surprised people. It is obviously deep in her system to brag about her “conquests.” Of course, VB has had other similar stories linking her with other foreign personalities. VB should be commended as to how she has drawn the attraction of these celebrities even if they have girlfriends they intend to marry, like FI.
However, what made people gasped at her story with FI was her claim that they did it without the use of rubber. For safe sex advocates, the non-use of rubber is an irresponsible act at this age of HIV and other sexual diseases. Talk about the risk.
