No More Jeering About the Birds and the Bees

Controversial Teen CT has gotten involved in issues that are way too “adult” for someone her age. Not too long ago, she got embroiled in a major scandal that almost ruined her person and wiped out her career. Some say that CT’s personality and ways are too matured for her age, making her a target of malicious talks – both real and imagined. For someone like her, CT’s adult choices certainly do her more harm than good.
CT must have been so enamored with seductive actor SA when they were doing a project together, such that even after the show’s conclusion, they continued to get in touch and update each other - eating out and dating. Until the attraction became uncontrollable – that one day, ‘something intense’ happened. CT’s adventurism caught her off-guard, never realizing that the “act” would rip and pain her a lot. Insiders had a field day exchanging notes that the act confirms SA’s rumored “giftedness,” while alluding to CT’s much-older ex as tiny.
Anyway, the unstoppable CT is at it again – now reportedly contemplating a serious relationship with a cute tv actor TA. The feelings between the two are mutual, but as opposed to CT’s daring and bold moves, the guy TA is mature enough to prioritize career over love matters. But some friends cautioned him though that he better be on-guard all the time to watch out for CT’s advances. One thing may lead to another and he’ll never know.
When that happens, where does that leave TA’s big-hearted benefactor BB? Can BB afford to lose CT? Not when he’s clowning around.

Letter from a Reader: Carrying Her Karma

FP, I am not a relative of the the actress, but just an insider privy to the happenings and milestones in the family. But I feel just as miserable myself having witnessed the events and the major upheavals in their lives.
Over the years, this actress has denied knowing the whereabouts of her loved one. In fact, this longing has been played on as a sad story on her part, perhaps, to gain sympathy, or to portray her as someone longing for love and affection.
But the truth is that her loved one had a certain illness - a fact that the actress knew all along, but never admitted. Was she so embarrassed that this will adversely affect her career?
Her loved one had been staying in a city down south (ironically, this city used to be very familiar to her being her ex's hometown), under the care of private nurses and some relatives. Only once did the actress give money to help, but she had never visited her, not even once. How her relatives hate her for treating an important family member this way.
Now we wonder if this actress and her management will exploit this personal matter to gain sympathy and publicity. Will she cry her heart out in a showbiz interview and express regret for all that she failed to do? Definitely, crying stunts like those will boost up her popularity while she’s on hiatus. Is her consistent denial commensurate to the fame and fortune she is now enjoying?
The public deserves to know the truth. While she projects herself as the underdog, she has committed the biggest sin of denying someone. Yet, we can only pray that she realizes how much pain she has caused her loved one, and that she changes her ways before it’s too late.

Trying to veer away from the typical to gamble on something fresh, a new loveteam is being cooked and hyped up by a tv network TN. The team looks really promising, with big potential to make “kilig.” Both are young and with good chemistry.
The girl, confused star CS is fresh yet can be versatile-looking on camera, with hot and talented actor RA giving a good combination. While CS had been paired with a popular actor PA in their successful project months ago, TN wants to test and mix their talents along to see which the public will bite the most.
The rumored ex-couple - CS and RA – both welcome their onscreen team up, even though their rumored romance did not have a good closure. RA reportedly failed to build on their special relationship due to professional and personal conflicts. It is close to saying that it was only CS who made the effort to make it work – thus kaput.
Amid all the mix-matching, a little problem lies with CS’s elder CE who doesn’t want her to be teamed up with RA. CE is so biased with PA who she wishes to be CS’ partner for good. CS was said to be blown away by PA’s treatment of her during and even after doing a project before. They were so close that PA went the extra mile of courting CE too, to win her over – and how? PA allegedly spoiled the overwhelmed CE in so many ways while rolling the carpet for CS who he treated like a princess.
To CE’s understanding, PA is the man for CS – no more, no less.
But TN insiders say that CE is not the network so she better shut up and stop meddling at all.

MANILA, Philippines -- Bea Alonzo recalled her short-lived romance with Gerald Anderson as a "roller-coaster ride," having experienced extreme emotions as they tackled together public criticism and the disapproval of someone closer to home.
"Whirlwind. Whirlwind ba tawag doon? Hindi? Fling? Ano? Summer romance. One season lang, e. Summer romance! It was fun. It was fun, parang 'yong ano, roller-coaster ride," she said.
The 25-year-old actress, who is now in a long-term relationship with actor Zanjoe Marudo, related to YES! magazine in its July 2013 issue how the "open secret" that was her relationship with Anderson started back in 2010.
According to Alonzo, Anderson had just broken up with Kim Chiu, his fellow "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate and erstwhile "love team," when the actor expressed his intentions to court her.
"'Yong nanligaw siya, sabi ko, 'Let's not talk for three months. Make sure, okay?' Kasi kaka-break niya lang talaga literally, kaka-break niya lang with Kim. Tapos sabi ko, 'After three months, titingnan ko, ha, kung gusto mo pa rin ako. Kasi ayokong maging rebound,'" she said.
Despite her request, Alonzo, who was 23 at the time, said Anderson had been persistent in showing his admiration for her. But the actress said she wouldn't have it, recalling that she reminded her suitor, who was 21 at the time, of their agreement.
"Kasi at that time ayoko talaga. Iniisip ko magkatrabaho pa sila noon eh. Parang they were doing a soap together, sila ni Kim," Alonzo said, referring to the Kapamilya series "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo," which ran from January to July 2010.
She added: "Baka mamaya ako 'yong talo, 'di ba? Baka mamaya mukha akong... 'yun pala, nagkabalikan sila doon or something. Pareho pa kami ng management, 'di ba?"
Alonzo, Anderson and Chiu are all artists of ABS-CBN's talent management firm, Star Magic.
"So sabi ko sa kanya," Alonzo continued, "'After three months, same date, kung serious ka, 'di text me or call me.' Ganyan. In fairness, naman, 12 midnight sakto, nag-text siya nang mahabang-mahaba."
Public criticism
The text message would mark the start of the pair's courtship stage, which Alonzo recalls to have been full of "pasabog" and "galante" gestures from her suitor.
"Si Ge (the actor's nickname), ay grabe. Papa-cater niya talaga 'yong house ko, ganyan, just because meron lang siyang hindi nagawa na promise niya. 'Yong ganon.
"Para ngang roller-coaster 'yon. As in, sobra akong depressed, tapos maya-maya lang, talagang pak! Na sa cloud nine na naman ako kasi sobra siyang magaling magpakilig, tapos bababa na naman ako," she said.
Among the reasons for Alonzo's "depression" then were the apparent disapproval of Anderson's mom of their relationship, as well as the mounting criticism from the avid supporters of "Kimerald," the actor's well-loved tandem with Chiu.
"As far as I was concerned, I wasn't doing anything wrong. Hindi ko siya (Anderson) inagaw. In fact, I gave it three months bago naging kami," Alonzo said.
"May respeto kasi ako kay Kim. At alam ni Kim 'yon. Tapos never akong nagpa-interview. I could have defended myself. Tapos may death threats pa ako... Ang hirap, sobrang hirap. Para kang kontrabida. And it's all public perception.
"And all of that, feeling ko, kaya ko. Hindi ko lang kaya 'yong pati 'yung family niya ayaw sa akin, tapos magpapa-interview. And I felt na disente naman ako," she said.
Mom's disapproval
Alonzo was referring to the mother of Anderson, who she said had expressed her disapproval of the relationship during a media interview.
The actress clarified that she bore no ill feelings toward her boyfriend's mom, but admitted she was angry that Anderson could not seem to defend their relationship to his family.
"Nagalit ako kay Ge noon. Kasi naisip ko 'yung nanay ko, may anak ding lalaki 'yan. Si mama, meron siyang girlfriends ng kapatid ko na ayaw niya din. But she wouldn't say na ayaw niya kasi alam niyang masasaktan nga si James, 'yong kapatid ko, at hindi 'yong girl.
"So parang sabi ko kay Ge, 'Ba't ganoon, baka hindi naman alam ng mom mo? Baka hindi niya nakikita kung gaano mo ko kamahal? Or baka hindi mo talaga ako ganoon...' 'Di ba, 'yung gano'n?" Alonzo said.
Asked what she recalls to be the reason of Anderson's mom for being against their relationship, Alonzo told YES!, "Sabi niya, parang ginagamit ko daw. Sabi ko, 'Teka lang, ha. Narating ko naman 'yong narating ko, dati na.' Actually nasisira nga dahil jinowa ko siya."
"So, I mean, nanay siya. Tapos ang feeling ko it wasn't fair, kasi never ko pa siyang nakilala. 'Di ba, parang ang sakit no'n? Kahit na nasisira 'yung pangalan ko, okay lang, basta 'yung pangalan niya, hindi masira, 'yong gano'n. Sobrang unfair. Kaya sabi ko, hindi ko na kaya," she said.
Moving forward
It was in November 2010, before they both went to London for an ABS-CBN concert tour, when Anderson and Alonzo decided to part ways as a couple.
"Parang there was an agreement between us na we were going to act as a couple in London. But after, wala nang talk... [Ginawa namin 'yon] para masaya 'yong last moment namin together. Kasi hindi pa pwede talaga. You and me against the world ang drama. Hindi ko kaya. Hindi ko kaya talaga," she said.
Looking back, Alonzo mused that their relationship may have had a negative impact on their careers. "Sobrang ikli lang naman no'ng sa amin ni Ge. Hindi naman 'yon malalim, pero lesson learned sa akin... Kaya din kami naghiwalay, hindi ko din naman kakayanin siguro na makita siyang nawawalan ng career nang dahil sa akin," she said.
Now happily in relationships of their own, with Anderson and actress Maja Salvador recently confirming their being a couple amid criticisms, Alonzo said her "summer romance" with the actor may have taught him a thing or two about standing by certain decisions.
"Baka noong time na 'yon hindi niya pa yata kayang panindigan. At least ngayon, napapanindigan niya na. Baka transition ako. Baka ako 'yong kinailangan niyang maranasan bago siya manindigan," she said.

Production and fellow actors were in a jovial mood as they celebrated
the conclusion of their very successful teleseye TE. Amid all the
controversies that happened among its stars during its entire run, TE
was undeniably a phenomenal success .
It was public knowledge how the show’s main stars got themselves entangled in a major conflict while working on TE. As a result, working and taping on the set with co-actor/s whom one was so at odds with proved to be more stressful than the work itself. Thus the thanksgiving party meant so much more for the stars concerned, as it would be the end of the long-drawn “silent treatment” on the set.
During the party, lead stars 1 and 2, LS1 and LS2 obviously avoided each other, as it had been for months since their estrangement. The production team as well as the producers, directors, co-actors and guests were all in celebratory mode as they were watching the video of TE’s final episode. Most of them were all praises for LS1 who did such a splendid performance in the episode that made her stood out.
The air was bad for LS2 and she felt like being suffocated at that point. She felt that she was being burned alive hearing all the hosannas being heaped at LS1, while she was not getting any at all. Thus, she stood up and walked out of the venue pronto.
Showbiz is such a small world. After all was said and done, people are of the belief that it’s about time that LS1 and LS2 start to bury the hatchet and start anew – whether as friends again or acquaintances.

My friend MF was with a few friends in a restaurant/bar whose name is similar to a kiss, located somewhere at the Fort. As soon as they were seated, MF saw a notorious celebrity NC looking weird, several tables away. NC was with a huge group of friends, around 20 of them – all decent looking, English-speaking bunch. NC looked like a sore thumb, an odd one out – and how?
At this point, MF started to give me a blow-by-blow account of what was happening right before him. NC looked weird, talking very loud (in tagalog) and rowdy throughout. She was fidgety - sitting down, getting up, walking around, giggling, hugging the waiter and kissing him! The bouncer was going after NC to calm her down, but she was just uncontrollable.
MF observed that NC was gulping down a strong alcoholic drink Jaegermeister, then afterwards mixed it with another drink, and what do you get? Wild NC became wilder and more unruly and annoying to the rest of the customers, including MF’s friends who wanted to call the attention of NC group to her behavior, but changed their mind after thinking that it might only cause trouble, and they were not prepared for it.

MANILA, Philippines -- Erik Santos said he is past feeling offended by persistent rumors that he is gay.
The 30-year-old singer, in an interview on "Showbiz Inside Report" aired Saturday, said he has conceded that his critics are not likely to change their opinion of his sexuality.
"Noong una, siyempre [napipikon ako], pero ngayon, kung anuman 'yung ipakita mo sa kanila, hindi mo naman sila mapi-please," he said.
"Kung anuman 'yung paniniwalaan nila, 'yung pa rin naman 'yung pinaniniwalaan nila eh. Bahala na kayo sa buhay niyo," said Santos, who is celebrating his 10th anniversary as a professional singer.
To mark his decade-long career, the "ASAP" mainstay is releasing two albums -- "The Erik Santos Collection," a compilation of all the film and TV series theme songs he has performed, which is now out in stores; and a new all-original album.
Ten years since he emerged champion in the Kapamilya singing contest "Star in a Million," Santos has a clear vision of where he wants to take his career.
"[Singing is what I do best] and feeling ko 'yun ang strength ko," he said in an earlier interview. "Mag-offer nang mag-offer ng kanta, masaya o malungkot. Iyon ang direksyon ng career ko. 'Yun pa rin."
