The studio is oftentimes considered the second home of celebrities who frequently have shows in the same set. Like a real home, guests are welcome only if they show proper behavior and politeness toward the hosts. Thus, before any ordinary person can watch a live show or a taping, he/she should pass rigid requirements.
Gaining access to watch a live show is not easy unless someone has the right connections. For some shows, waiting for tickets can take time even if paying is easy. The number of people wanting to be in the audience is too many and thus, competition for that entry pass is high. For the lucky ones who manage to get that pass, they, too, have expectations.
On TV, Female Host 1 (FH1) and Female Host 2 (FH2) seem to have pleasant personalities that have endeared them to their viewers. Thus, people in the live audience expected the same friendly aura to be projected by the two. Allegedly, FH1 and FH2 were the opposite once the cameras are off.
FH1, who found a second wind in her career, gave the impression of being a someone during the lull in the show. She seemed to have the feels of being an important and regal part of the show. However, all she did was read from the prompter. FH 2 was no different. Her smile and happy disposition wore off during gaps. The live audience was ignored and felt distanced. What they expected to be a warm interaction turned out cold. Many were disappointed. The only redeeming personality that made the audience feel important was Another Host (AH), whose sincerity the audience felt. Only AH made the effort to acknowledge the live audience with her small waves prior to the take.
After watching a live show, many of the audience members were disappointed. They realized that the personalities changed drastically and depended on whether the cameras were on or off.
‘Our desires always disappoint us; for though we meet with something that gives us satisfaction, yet it never thoroughly answers our expectation.’ – Elbert Hubbard
