Getting Ahead

When Female Celebrity (FC) finally got engaged, Her Fiancé (HF) had done much preparation to ensure that the event would be memorable. As FC comes from a tight-knit family (TK), HF knew he had to get permission first from TK. When he spoke with TK, they were shocked and hesitant. However, Influential Member (IM) reminded them that FC and HF would eventually end up together.
IM has seen the sincerity in the intention of HF and was touched by his gestures and treatment of FC. Thus, IM vouched for HF for FC. However, TK’s concern was more of the financial situation of FC, who seems to have more savings and sources of income than HF. FC has been working hard in her career and TK was worried that once FC and HF marry, her assets would become conjugal property. Moreover, TK was bothered by the possibility that FC would no longer prioritize her work once she settles down with HF. After all, competition is tough in the field of FC and if she takes time off, other celebrities might eat up her market.
Despite all the concerns, TK has no choice but to talk to FC and HF separately and set the conditions for marriage. Predictably, TK wants a prenup to be signed and assurance they will not spend a single cent for the wedding, including the wedding dress of FC. HF assured TK that he is financially prepared to spend for their wedding and to give FC a comfortable married life. In addition, TK wanted all expenses be recorded in a ledger and reimbursements made of whatever they might have to spend on initially. HF said such was not a problem, as he was ready and had already anticipated the possible concerns of TK.
When HF’s camp learned of the conditions of TK, they could only shake their heads in disbelief. The demands of FC’s camp verified the rumors about the materialism of TK. HF’s camp could still not believe how TK could do such, but they have no choice but to support HF, as his heart has been won by FC.

Sing-Along Game Show to Replace GGV?

GGV has offered Sunday night viewers with interviews of local and international celebrities. ABS-CBN ang GMA artists have appeared and gamely answered the questions of Vice Ganda that ranged from professional to personal questions and love life. Even the K-pop female group, Momoland, has guested on the show and danced to Sarah Geronimo’s ‘Tala’ early this year.
With competition heating up for the time slot, the said show, ‘Everybody, Sing!’ will start to air in March.

Missed Agenda

ES and the rest of the performing team were excited with their songs that are considered classics. However, PP was not at all elated when she saw her song. She said she does not have a feel for the song assigned to her and added that she was not challenged as the range was below her skills. The production team said they can have the arrangement made higher to satisfy her. She then asked for the songs of her fellow performers and when she saw the one for ES, she insisted on singing that song.
ES is a newcomer in the field, but is already gaining followers because of her vocal range. She can even do a better rendition of a certain style that PP is known for. The production team told PP that the song was already arranged for the vocal skills of ES. PP refused to accept that reasoning and said that she can do better than ES. To avoid trouble, the song was given to PP. Meanwhile, ES did not complain when she was informed of the change of her song.
During rehearsals, the performers gave their best and the practice seemed to be a showdown of reaching the high notes. When PP heard a senior performer, she requested for the key to be moved up. Apparently, she wanted to outshine everyone regardless of seniority.
The day of the show came and to delight the audience, the number was done live. Confidently, PP went on stage and did her best, which was an epic fail. When the high notes came, PP missed it. She allegedly ran out of breath, as she was attempting to do something that was not at all talked about during the rehearsal. After the performance, one of the singers said that the faux pas on live television was a classic example of karma. The song was not for PP, but she took it away from someone who was not even wanting to compete.
