Repost: PNP Orders Withdrawal of Support for 'Ang Probinsyano'

The leadership of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has ordered all of its units to withdraw support for the hit TV series "Ang Probinsyano."
In a memorandum issued Friday, all PNP offices and personnel were told to stop assisting and providing resources to the production team of the hit series.
"All units, offices, and personnel are advised to immediately refrain from assisting, to withdraw their support to the production of the said teleserye in terms of PNP resources like patrol cars, firearms, personnel, venues, and other items and gadgets being used in the teleserye," Police Community Relations Director Eduardo Garado said.
The development comes following concerns from PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde regarding the alleged negative portrayal of some policemen in the Coco Martin-starrer.
Garado, in the memorandum, said producers of the show promised
during a dialogue with the police force and the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board last Oct. 17 and 23 to "make the necessary corrections on the issues raised by the PNP in a week's time."
"Ang Probinsyano" producers allegedly did not make any "visible correction" and instead continued with its "daily wrongful portrayal of PNP Officers as corrupt and ineffective," Garado said.
"While our PNP legal officers are studying our legal options, there is a need to immediately withdraw the PNP's assistance, if there is any, in the production of the teleserye," Garado said.
ABS-CBN earlier assured the PNP that elements of the series are "purely fictitious as stated in the disclaimer aired at the start of the show every night."
"There is no intention to smear the reputation of any organization or portray any person in a negative light," ABS-CBN said.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government on Friday meanwhile said it is considering filing charges against the show's producers if they continue "with their grossly unfair and inaccurate portrayal of our police force."

Just Not Amiable

People on the set of a network project have observed that Reluctant Personality (RP) has not been socializing with them despite the many weeks they have been working together. Usually, the network is known for friendly staff and celebrities who are very amiable with everyone. Thus, seeing RP sitting in a corner waiting for her turn is something new to the team.
Initially, production people thought that RP could still be adjusting to the new system and the new faces. However, RP had not changed since day one. When asked questions, her answers are limited to either a “Yes” or a “No.” When she’s not in the mood, she gives that frowning face. She hardly engages in small talk to make everyone feel at ease between takes. Worse, she reprimands her Production Assistant (PA) to the point of embarrassment. To which, the PA would reply that she is already used to the ways of the boss. Even at home, RP can sometimes still be in character and her heightened emotions could sometime lead to her throwing objects. Nonetheless, comparisons are often made on the lack of warmth of RP, which is quite far from the ‘Miss Friendship’ attitude of a relation.
At certain times, she would come to the set unprepared and would still have to be briefed. When the acting coach would help her out, instead of welcoming the idea, RP would say that she did not win awards for being a ham actress. For one thing, that fact is true and RP does deliver in front of the camera with her impressive work.
The attitude of RP is allegedly one of the reasons why a network was not keen on taking her. This network can move heaven and hell to obtain the services of any talent they desire, which leaves in question why RP was not enticed to become part of the stable. Apparently, former directors connected to the said network have given their warning on the attitude of RP. Given that productions teams want a smooth set, having a talent with questionable attitude is not desirable. Meanwhile, the current network of RP is now seeing the reasons why she can be difficult to work with. Now, everything is a wait and see, with the hope that RP would become amiable toward the people in her home network.
