Cannot Just Laugh It Off

Often, the older generation of celebrities have advised the younger ones not to make the mistakes they did at the height of their fame. They had money, relationships, power, and the belief that everything will last forever. Unfortunately, everything they had worked for could just disappear in the blink of an eye and they have learned this lesson too late.

For the current generations of entertainers, financial literacy is a priority. Having economic power at such a young age means one can buy the fancy things that society dictates them to have. In other words, some young celebrities spend on things that are expensive just so they would not be branded as cheapskates or tasteless. Fame does not last forever, as a career in the entertainment industry is only as good as the last successful project. If a project fails, then the celebrity ought to think fast to get up immediately.

When Talented Personality (TP) was achieving fame and fortune, he could demand almost anything he wanted. TP was very competent and articulate, and thus, was a prized talent for any network who needs someone who can act, sing, and host. His all-around abilities made TP sought after.

TP lived the life, as he had everything any ordinary person could hope for. One could not doubt that TP was earning much with his left and right projects. The expectation is that TP would have had enough savings for that rainy day. He probably did, but he did not factor a crucial detail in that configuration.

TP married Attractive Woman (AW) and the two were very much in love. AW managed to make TP settle down and focus on the important things in life. Thus, parties were scarce and any involvement in rough public behavior was stopped when TP realized he was serious with AW.

What TP did not realize is that loving AW came at a price and he could not do anything about it. Allegedly, the family of AW made themselves at home with the couple. Groceries would be carted off and TP had to lend financial help to make sure AW’s family would continue their lifestyle. While things seemed typical for a family, the situation was not like before the time TP met AW.

These days, the career of TP is in jeopardy. After his stint with a network program, his future remains uncertain. A discussion with an influential insider did not go as expected, which prompted TP to change his tune. Consequently, that discussion could snowball into a slowing down of projects, which could strain his wallet. Rumors have it that TP has debts he needs to pay off as well as the obligation to support the family of AW, as she no longer has work. People who know of TP’s situation are hoping that he would bounce back and get his financial matters straightened out. How they wished, TP had learned about frugality and living within his means from his late mentor.
