Not a Nice Change

Long before the production heads decided to give Popular Celebrity (PC) a break that has charted her career, everyone in the head office loved her. At that time, PC would hang around with the staff and help complete manual jobs. Sometimes, she would take charge of photocopying tasks and even request for projects just so she can have some money for food and fare.

The staff would get used to the presence of PC and they understood that she would be in the office to make herself visible to the management. PC would mingle with them and engage in small talk. Her kind and amiable attitude toward the staff created a positive impression. They all wished her well and that she would be given a chance to prove herself.

The day came and PC was given a movie. Producers often take risks as these days, star power is not a guarantee of box-office returns. In the movie, the producers gambled and luck was on their side. PC was starting on a path to make her dreams come true. Her friends among the staff were very happy for her.

After her successful break, PC would drop by the office and greet her friends. She would even be happy if they would have selfies together. PC was not a one hit wonder and her succeeding projects proved her talent and her capability to draw fans. One by one, her projects were creating an impression that she would soon be a big star. As always, the staff looked forward to her coming over and hoped she would not change.

Unfortunately, the staff was wrong. PC started to become aloof. She would still come over to the office to meet the bosses. Unlike before when she would be chummy with the staff, PC would just walk by and ignore their presence. Worse, she hardly would even look at them. She would have her head bent down and tinker with her phone while passing along the area of the staff, whom she used to be close with.

The fame seems to have gotten in the head of PC and with her achieving her goals, she has forgotten the people who were with her when she was a nobody.
