Worrisome Posts

Social media has become an indispensable tool for celebrities. The first celebrities who ventured into social media mainly aimed to be part of the techie generation. Their number of followers started growing with the curiosity about the shared opinions and interests of these celebrities. Then, when enterprises saw the potential of social media as a marketing tool and venue for endorsing a product, other celebrities joined in and used their accounts to endorse various products. However, for other celebrities, being on social media is a way for them to express their true feelings.

Corollary to celebrities being opinionated in social media is the unarticulated purpose, that is, to receive attention. When celebrities post, followers are always quick to react even without understanding the context of the post. Thus, taking the posts out of context could sometimes lead to cyberbullying and exchanges of harsh words. Most celebrities have learned to handle their bashers, while others show their human side and express their anger easily. Some celebrities even check out their bashers before replying and use the profile of the basher as a weapon.

Whenever Newsworthy Personality (NP) posts in her social media account, netizens already know something is up and NP has an issue that will generate agreeable and disagreeable responses. Sometimes, NP responds and bashers are put into place, but most often, NP chooses her “battles.” However, her friends started to get alarm when NP started sharing even her meetings with doctors. The frequency alarmed the people who are close to her and thus, they wondered about NP’s true state.

Certain friends started to investigate other sources, as the posts of NP in her social media accounts might not be giving the real story. The friends were shocked when they found out that NP had made up some of her hurts. According to their sleuthing, NP had to think of ways to be talked about and thus, she resorted to doing something that she thought might gain her sympathy. The goal was to keep herself in the loop as she will soon be charting a new course in her career. Thus, visibility is a key to making sure she is being talked about and interest in her projects would be generated.
