Might Just Fade Away

In the country, celebrities sometimes are wary to step out like ordinary citizens because they fear the public might mob them. Hence, many celebrities would rather stay home or go abroad, where they can move freely. For the few who actually go malling, they stay away from the more popular ones and opt for the high-end shops. The public can sometimes be unforgiving and request for selfies with celebrities as soon as they spot them. In other words, for fans, privacy is sometimes forgotten. When a celebrity refuses for the sake of his/her privacy, expect a surge of social media posts complaining about such behavior. However, the sad part is not about the lack of privacy of the celebrity, but the day when no one recognizes the face of the celebrity.

Sometime ago, Attractive Talent (AT) went on a movie date with her friends. As her pals were already used to AT, they no longer minded the fact that she was wearing a hoodie and dark shades. They simply let AT be in her disguise. However, because she was wearing shades at night, instead of ‘hiding’ her identity, she had more onlookers who noticed her odd behavior.

As AT’s vision was a notch darker, she accidentally tripped on the escalator. Instead of asking if she were okay, someone commented about her trying to hide who she is and wearing shades. When her group made it to buy tickets, AT lined up in the priority lane meant for senior citizens. The queue was shorter and AT thought she could get away with her act. In less than a minute, a senior citizen called her out and told her loudly that the line was exclusively for seniors. AT then removed her hoodie and introduced herself. The senior citizen said that she does not know her and she does not look familiar at all. Embarrassed, AT had to move away.

In another part of the cinema, AT noticed that Funnyman (FM) was being approached by the folks and asking for selfies. By contrast, no one approached AT at all, which added to her frustration. While FM is not exactly the best-looking actor around, his works are more commercially viable compared to the projects of AT. Slowly, AT has to accept that she is no longer popular and might soon fade into the background if she does not become more visible on various media platforms. Others blame the fact that she seems to be choosing love over her career.
