Shunning His Past and Responsibility

The greatest feeling these days for Endeared Celebrity (EC) is her love for Good-looking Personality (GP). While most celebrities would rather keep their relationships as far away as possible from the public eye, such is not true in the case of EC. When she is in love, she wants the whole world to know about it. The drawback is that her target of affection becomes subjected to scrutiny and public comments from likers and bashers alike.

The latest interest of EC is GP, a young man who comes from a wealthy family and one who seems to be quite in love with her. When seen together, GP acts like a normal boyfriend who lets EC do what she wants and gives her the space to meet with the press and the curious. While the match seems to have been the perfect target for Cupid, stories that GP might not want the public to know are resurfacing.

The most controversial among these stories is that GP allegedly sired not one, but two kids with a Young Model (YM). Unfortunately, his family did not approve of YM, and thus ended his relationship with her. YM comes from a family who is not at the same level as the family of GP. Thus, without having any impressive detail in her life, YM was vetoed by the family. GP allegedly simply let go and did not at all bother to fight for his woman. The kids are now growing up without even knowing that their father happens to be in the limelight these days.

Worse, GP seems to be indifferent to his responsibility because YM has found a foreigner who is taking care of the role that GP should be undertaking. The foreigner provides for the financial needs of the kids, and who knows, the kids might even think this person is their father and not GP.

Meanwhile, EC is mocking the rumors and has turned her back on the issue. She is too much in love with GP and would rather not address the story. However, what is alarming is that GP is cold toward his kids. Perhaps, later on, EC would realize that GP has flaws that she has to work with and not merely accept.

“SURE put him (Miguel) under scrutiny.”

This was the comment of Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña after Cebuana actress Ellen Adarna called his son Miguel a “brat” in a Facebook post.

Osmeña challenged Adarna to file a complaint if his son did something wrong.

On Tuesday night, Adarna shared an article from Cebu Daily News where Osmeña gave a stern message to all the “spoiled brats” in Cebu City, in her social media account and she scrutinized the mayor.

“Really? Well, well, well what do we have here. Throwback feelings when your “brat” shot my kabarkada’s (friend’s) digi(tal) cam(era), hung it on her gate and threatened us with a text message,” Adarna stated in her post.

Adarna then uploaded a picture of her and her friend Samantha Benitez whom Adarna claimed was the owner of the camera and whom Miguel allegedly threatened.

“Pag-sure diha Tomas (Osmeña) oi! Dugay kaayo tong na headline og balita. Na-trauma mi adto kay kuwang-kuwang man diay sad na imong ‘brat’ (Are you sure Tomas? It had been headlined for so long. We were traumatized by that incident because of your brat),” Adarna said.

According to Adarna, her friend Benitez received a text message which stated, “the next time this happens the bullet goes through your head”, which they believed came from Miguel.

However, the post of Adarna was already deleted from her Facebook account.

Tomas Osmeña said Adarna was referring to the incident, eight years ago, where Benitez accused Miguel of threatening her.

“When it was reported, he (Miguel) just left for the States. They (Benitez) waited until (Miguel) would leave for the States and they reported it,” Tomas said.

Tomas said that the complaint only surfaced after Miguel left for the US to continue his studies, and there was no formal complaint or charges filed against Miguel.

He also said that he offered to go on leave when the incident happened but there was no formal complaint.

He also said that he does not have any problem if Adarna and her friends will reinvestigate the incident.

He even challenged them to file a complaint if they find something wrong.

“And if something like that comes up again, I will go leave immediately and let the police investigate whatever,” Tomas added.

On his wife Beatriz’s Facebook account, Miguel lamented on Adarna’s post, saying that those making noise in the social media are all friends of David Lim Jr.

“I do not enjoy Facebook drama. But here I am, writing a post 8 years in the making because of Facebook drama. I only do this because my father is being attacked by all the cool kids of Maria Luisa and Ellen Adarna of all people,” Miguel stated in his post.

He said that Adarna and the others were just affected after his father Tomas told spoiled brats in Cebu that they are nothing special.

Miguel admitted that in 2009, he called Benitez to ask what happened to Beatriz when the latter passed out in a drinking session with them but got no clear reply from Benitez.

Miguel claimed that when he called Benitez, he badmouthed her, but he did not threaten her nor shot Benitez’s camera.

“I wouldn’t even have bothered to answer you (Adarna) if I was the only target. But I will not stand to be used as propaganda against my father. He’s fighting so many battles as it is,” Miguel said.

Repost: DZRH Suspends Mocha Uson’s Program Over Anti-Robredo Remarks

Radio station DZRH has suspended a commentary program anchored by Mocha Uson, the singer-dancer who has become President Duterte’s ardent supporter and propagandist.

The “indefinite suspension,” confirmed to the Philippine Daily Inquirer by DZRH personnel, came after the radio station received complaints from listeners, who found malicious Uson’s remarks against Vice President Leni Robredo, that were captured on live streaming on social media.

DZRH is operated by the Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC).

One of the complainants, Jozy Acosta-Nisperos, head of the civil society group The Silent Majority, sent MBC president Ruperto Nicdao Jr.. a formal letter that pointed out Uson’s violations of broadcasting rules:

“On March 18, during a live streaming of her segment on DZRH, Uson verbally attacked Vice President Leni Robredo in a coarse, vicious language dripping with malice—an act that she has regularly resorted to as a propagandist of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“What Uson does for a living is none of our business, but in that live steaming, apparently she overstepped the boundaries of decency.

“To quote:

“’Kasi nga sinungaling ka at fake news ka… Huwag mong araw-arawin ang katangahan mo! Expletive (bleeped out)… Bumili ka ng utak! … Nakakahawa na yang katangahan mo … Sobra lang talagang nakakagalit ang kabobohan ng babae na to…’ ”

“To paraphrase: The Vice President is a liar and a bearer of fake news. She is stupid, an idiot. Her stupidity arouses my anger.

“In addition, Uson also attacks the Philippine media:

“’Ito namang mga lokal na presstitutes natin puro pera ang iniisip kaysa sa kapakanan ng bayan…’”

“To paraphrase: The local media are nothing but paid hacks.

“May we point out that, in the 2007 Broadcast Code of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Uson is liable of having violated certain sections:

“Article 2. ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARIES

“Sec. 2. Public affairs programs and commentaries shall be handled only by persons who have thorough knowledge of and practice broadcast ethics.

“Sec. 4. Public affairs programs shall strive to elicit responsible views on public issues, concerns and events from all sectors of society.

“May we also raise the point of whether Uson has a professional broadcaster’s license?” SFM/rga
